Hello, family of four here, looking for advice for a fall tour of the Va mountains.

My wife (37) and I (42), with our two kids, 12 & 9 (son/daughter) are heading to Shenandoah National Park on October 16. We're spending one night in Big Meadows. We plan to work our way down the Valley over the next 5 days, with our last day being close to the McAfee knob trailhead, (yes I know how crowded). We're looking for recommendations.

Our priorities are: Children's activities, Live music, hikes, walkable downtowns, foliage, coffee shops, horseback riding, open fire/campfire settings, fishing, kayaking, etc.

We are open to tent camping, glamping, or staying in Air BnB.

We are traveling with one medium size dog.

I appreciate any and all advice. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Is this branch from an American Pawpaw tree?

This tree is growing on my property, but it is so ingrown into the bushes that it's difficult to take a picture of the entire thing. It's probably only a few years old as it's only about 9 ft tall. We are in the Southeast United States.

Once we use chlorine tablets to purify water, it should say "Purified", the same way disinfected bandages say "Disinfected".

Just a small quality of life suggestion. Sometimes I fill water containers with no intention of drinking the water. Usually I'm using it to grow things. It's easy to accidentally drink unpurified water, which can lead to sickness, death, etc.

The purified tag should only be visible to the person who purified it.

Did I screw up?

So many people told me that Kawasaki is the only engine to consider as I've been looking for a new zero turn. Most of the zero turn mowers I've found in the $4000 dollar range have the Kawasaki® FR651V. A small amount of people told me that Briggs is as good, if not better, once you make it past the residential line that's sold in the big box stores. Yesterday as I sat on a dozen or more mowers and drove a few around when I was allowed to, I made a decision that my family and coworkers are saying is huge mistake.

I bought a Ferris 300R with a Briggs and Stratton PXI2300 V Twin. It cost a bit more than other residential mowers I was looking at. But it's built very well and I feel like it's more comfortable.

Am I going to regret this?

I dream of it ...

My Stilltent is essential.

Sandstorms are terrifying.

My Stillsuit is my lifeline.

Water discipline is the difference between life and death.

I have ridden the Maker.

...but then I awaken.

I have 5 Million water, I have no use for a Stillsuit, my Stilltent is dry-rotted, the Maker eludes me

Hey guys I have a question about Wildlands, Ghost War on PC

Do you guys know if Ghost War (the PvP mode) for Wildlands has a populated player base? Last time I tried it there was no one in the lobby.

Opinion: Battlegrounds, Arena, PvP stat tracking, and PvP specific rewards are a good idea.

This feels like the only solution left for PvP, and it's NOT a bad one. These systems are familiar to people. You can only rely on open world PvP if you have an open world. Dune Awakening is the opposite of an open world game. Every zone is its own compartment, and that's by design. We can argue about the quality of that design decision, but it's unlikely to change.

So, if you're interested in PvP do you agree with the notion of BG's, and arenas, in addition to whatever PvP exists in the Deep Desert?

I'm looking for weekly social activities for my 12 year old son.

He's into gaming, talking about gaming, playing outside, just hanging out, nerf, etc. he's not big on sports.

Info appreciated.
