I have had an interest an game dev for a while, and have been interested in many different engines, but I didn't like how engines like godot seemed a little too hand-holdy, while other engines like gamemaker didn't you c# at all, as it was a language I wanted to learn, so i looked to monogame.
Monogame scares me, because while it grant you incredible freedom, I dont want to have to build a full fledged engine just to make a game. However, I do recognize that it would give me lots of practice with learning how to use programming languages to solve problems, even if there's barely anything there to build off of in the first place. Ultimately, I would like to know your experience with monogame, and wether or not so.eone likee should go for it.
Thank you!!!!
I have a story planned out at this point, but I always see that every single webcomic I see, popular or not, are all formatted in this vertical format suitable for scrolling with like 50 meters of white space between them. All the comics and manga I was inspired by look completely different, and seeing that this format was seemingly completely abandoned for what is essentially youtube shorts style comic formatting has been a major detriment in starting my own series. I am afraid people won't read my stuff if I format it normally and upload it to webtoon or tapas or whatever
Do I have no choice but to learn to format my comic in this style, or would people still be willing to read a traditionally formatted comic online nowadays?
I created a state machine that manages the sprites and behavior of an enemy when it encoutners the player, where the default state is walk, the prepare state switches the sprite, and dash causes it to dash towards the player. right now i am struggling on getting the sprites to change. when i use the debug, the states technically do change exactly as their supposed to, but the walking sprite stays the same. i would like some help please!
Thank you!
