A fellow Kagay-anon asked me to post this raise awareness lang regarding aggressive cosmetic vendors in SMDT:

OP’s original post: PSA: Beware of the aggressive solicitation tactics at the bazaar inside SM Downtown. I went there to shop in peace, not to be cornered and harassed.

“I saw a post here from 6 months ago about the exact same experience, and it happened to me recently, too. They forced me to join a product demo claiming it was just for their “attendance” but they were so pushy and aggressive that I ended up buying ₱1,500 worth of items under pressure. To make things worse, I later found out that their products aren't even FDA approved.

I already reached out to SM Leasing, but they said the store's contract runs until September 8. I just want shoppers to be warned so no one else falls for this trap.

To give you more details, they used to be located near the supermarket before, which is why I always avoided that area. Unfortunately, I didn't realize they had moved there, so I couldn't avoid them this time.

​They are located on the ground floor of SMDT, near Anello and right across the car exhibit. Just to clarify as well, they weren't offering makeup, but an exfoliating product instead. A tall gay staff member wearing black was the one who approached me and suddenly put something on my hand, so I had no choice but to stop. I felt a bit of pity since he mentioned it was just for their 'attendance,' but they were extremely pushy and aggressive with selling. After that, they kept offering me different things, and I ended up just buying the exfoliating product for ₱1,500 so I could leave quickly because I was in a rush that time.”

Nibalik nasad diay ni sila? Last experience nako kay adtong January this year nga nangayo sila’g “tip” sa akoa kay di man gyud ko mupalit sailaha. I thought since wala na sila dapit sa Supermarket, wala na gyud sila. Nibalik naman hinuon.

Naa’y nakabantay aning mga sige’g ga-record sulod sa sine pero dili whole movie. Ga-record sila, undang, tas ga-record nasad utro pero ga-putol putol siya.

Gakabantay ra ba ang staff ani sa likod sa sine pag naa’y ga-record? Was watching Blue Lock today ug duha gyud ka tao naa sa’ko atubangan ga sige’g record pero dili ang whole movie. Ang isa siguro kay para lang pang-post sa story, pero naa gyu’y isa na balik2 ug pagawas saiya phone.

Ginabadlong ba ni or ginapasagdan lang sa mga in-charge sa sine?

Naa ba’y something similar to a book club diri sa CdO, nga involving events like reading together, having book discussions, or bisa’g book exchange lang?

If book exchange lang, is anyone open to that idea?

I’ve been checking Ketkai’s page pero wala pa sila’y update. Last man gud nako nakita kay July 2026, pero murag gi-move sa August. Naa ba’y naka-inquire sa ila? Last nako adto around Mid Year sale nila kay gamay ra gyud kaayo options, unta ang new branch kay dako dako na.

The last romance I enjoyed was The Seven Year Slip. I’m not too into fantasy, but I didn’t mind the fantasy element in that book.

I’m looking for a book that’s easy to digest, has an MMC that’s likable or where they’re yearning for the FMC, isn’t fantasy, where they adorably banter with each other, and have dialogues that get you "swooning".

Tried Yours Truly but the miscommunication was not it for me (pinupush ko nalang basahin ang later chapters). Tried other books by Ashley Poston pero meh pa lang so far (not bad, but not that gripping din. Tried a couple chapters of The Someday Garden, The Dead Romantics, and A Novel Love Story).

Can anyone recommend a good pillow na maganda for side sleeping? Yung tipong elevated and firm siya na di lumulubog?

I’ve read through so many threads at marami ngang nag recommend ng Tempur, but I’m looking for something more affordable for now.

I’ve seen people recommend Uratex’s Wink lineup, Joyce & Diana, Nitori, but upon checking Shopee reviews, parang mas fit ung highly recommended pillows sa mga mahilig ng soft na unan.

I bought one of the highly recommended pillows on Reddit (Mandaue Foam Prima Contour) pero sobrang baba at soft lang para sakin, ansakit din ng leeg ko pag mag sa-side sleep.

How many chapters do you give a book a chance before you decide you no longer want to read it? Like, stop reading it altogether and have no interest reading it again (or maybe hate-reading it later).

I used to finish all the paperbacks I buy (since binili ko na, might as well, ang mahal pa naman). But after getting a Kindle, parang ambilis na sa’kin to consider DNF-ing a book after being maybe 20-30% in a book.

Do you all finish the books you don’t enjoy much? Or just resign na ‘di mo na pilitin sarili mo sa ayaw mo?

Naa na ba’y naka-experience ug bayi nga kalit lang muduol? Niingon siya sa’ko na nangita daw siya’g gate kay nawala siya saiya mga amiga. Giingnan ra nako nga na ma’y lahi lahi nga wing, gipangatana nako kibalo ba siya asa dapit.

Sige ra’g ingon na dili siya kibalo, ug na-feel na gyud nako na sige siya’g lantaw sakong cellphone. Didto pa lang ako na ditso gigunit ug ayo ug tago.

Nikalit man lang ug ingon na gusto daw siya maki-text, sa Instagram lang daw. May nalang wala nag-ingon ug Messenger. Gibalibaran nako na wala ko’y Instagram. Kapila nasad ko ingon adtua lang sa guard kung na’y pangutana.

I know nga dapat we should always be vigilant, pero ako ra gyud isa adto. I could’ve said no na busy ko pero tuo lang gyud nako mangayo siya’g directions. Be wary nalang kung na’y babae kalit muduol mangutana about sa “gate”. Sige gyud siya’g lantaw sa’ko phone ambot kung tungod kakita siya iPhone.

Curious how many books everyone else has read as we're halfway through the year! Personally read about 15 books since the end of May up until now.

I used to really like reading a lot when I was younger, pero ang mahal ng paperbacks so I always resulted to e-books on my phone, kahit minsan ang sakit din sa mata ko.

But since becoming "somewhat" financially stable, I started buying paperbacks din, pero ang mahal din ng pag-add-up over time, especially na I've burned through these books, lalo na ung na-eenjoy ko talaga, in a span of a day or two. Di ko lang talaga mu-justify ung expenses ko so I ended up getting a Kindle. I'm definitely gonna miss paperbacks, but I love investing in reading!

I'm curious about everyone else's stories with reading and how many books you've managed to read this year (and what kept you inspired to keep reading)

Asa’y beach o resort nga within LLC nga pwede maka-access na di kaayo mahal? Mga ₱100 or so lang nga entrance fee.

I looked it up sa sub pero JPark or Mactan Newtown ang suggestions. As far as I know, around ₱1,000 ang Newtown? If included na ang ilang buffet. I don’t know if naa ba sila’y entrance rate nga dili apil ang meal.
