Would you all be down for a Discord server?

Hello everyone, I am thinking of making a Discord server for people of Murfreesboro of all interests. I don't know who would join, though. I want to make it so we can discuss life here as well as our interests so we can potentially make friends there. Do you all think it's a good idea? If so, I will be working on it starting tonight or tomorrow. I personally think it's a good idea since it's kind of hard to find friends in this city.

How do you stay sane at work?

I only started working as a janitor at a college recently, and on day 1 of week 2, I have been crying at work, hiding in the bathroom at work. Nobody has done anything to me, and I've been doing the same thing? I don't know how to stay sane. I listen to music and podcasts while working, but I can't stop crying. I'm not even sure why I've been losing it all day. Can anyone give any help? I seriously need help.

I got a job yesterday and I actually did well

Yesterday I was horrified, and then I calmed down by standing close to other people, and slowly that made my anxiety lessen. I really am glad that I managed to find a method of getting over it, although I am quite scared near people in public still.

[Build Request] First PC for 1440p, Streaming, and Heavy Emulation (PS3/PS4/Switch) — Need Peripherals

Hey everyone, I'm completely new to gaming PCs and looking to build my first rig. I don't have any existing parts, so I'm hoping to get some recommendations for a complete setup.

Here is exactly what I'm looking for:

  • Performance Goals: 1440p at 60fps (minimum) for both modern and upcoming future titles.
  • Use Cases: Gaming, streaming, and heavy emulation (PS3, PS4, and Switch). I know emulators can be very demanding, so I need a strong CPU/GPU combo that can handle that alongside streaming capabilities.
  • Storage: 4TB of total storage.
  • Aesthetics: I really don't care about colors, glass panels, or RGB. I want the budget focused entirely on raw gaming performance, airflow, and function over form.
  • Location: I do not have a Micro Center near me, so I will be ordering all parts online.
  • Peripherals Needed: I am starting completely from scratch, so I need a 1440p monitor, a keyboard, and a mouse included in the recommendations.
  • Budget: I have no budget; I'll work for as long as I need to.

I am no longer a NEET

Hello everyone again. After about a year and 7 months, my days of being a NEET are over. I want to thank everyone here for the conversations, and I hope the best for everyone here. I will sometimes be around but not as much because I feel it is unfair for non-NEETs to be active here. I am sure there are struggles with being employed, but I still feel it is wrong to chat here as a non-NEET. To any of the NEETs who want to work, I suggest asking friends (if you have any) or family to try to help you work where they're at because that's what I've done and now I will be working on Mond. Good luck to everyone othere, ere, and may you all have lives full of happiness

Pop Punk song found on roblox

I tried to find it extensively, and it was originally posted on wazatsong and has yet to have a reply in almost 200 days, so I figured I'd come here. Thank you to anyone who reads this and good luck finding it.

How do you cope with the loneliness that comes with being a NEET?

I haven't had friends most of my life, rarely found any, but lost them. Genuinely how do you find friends as an unemployed person? Are we all just cursed into loneliness?

I feel inferior to everyone

Hello everyone. I've been thinking about making a post like this for a long time, so I finally decided to do it.

I'm 19 years old, and I haven't been in school since 2024. I spend most of my days inside the house, not only because I'm broke and unemployed, but also because I feel inferior to everyone else. Whenever I see people, I can't help but notice how they all seem more attractive and have friends. I shake uncontrollably and barely talk because I'm constantly thinking about how I look like a lonely loser.

I think some of this stems from how harshly I was treated throughout most of my school years. I was so different that people called me a future school shooter, and I got bullied for all kinds of reasons. I don't even know exactly why anymore, but I guess it all contributed to my low self-esteem.

In general, I feel inferior to everyone. Whether I'm watching movies, TV shows, or even scrolling through social media, it feels like everyone has something I don't have: friends.

I also wanted to mention that I've been laughed at and picked on by people who don't even know me. I've been told it's because I'm an easy target, but I honestly don't know what to do about my loneliness.

This might be different from social anxiety because it feels like I'm genuinely afraid of people themselves, although I also have a strong fear of being judged. For as long as I can remember, I've always been nervous around other people. I just wish this fear would go away. No matter how long I'm around people, I'm still terrified.

I still try to step outside my comfort zone, but even when I do, I can't shake the feeling that I'm a loser whenever I talk to people.

Update on a place I applied to a while back

Hello again, r/NEET friends. A few weeks ago, I posted I had an interview coming up with Taco Bell. I never updated on what happened, though. I walked to the Taco Bell and sat there for quite a while. It took so long for the manager to even talk to me, and he said, "We can't interview; too much is going on right now," and he gave me a paper application to sign, and he gave me a business card and told me to text him to schedule an interview. I texted him, and I never received a reply back. Today I got told basically they didn't choose me even though I didn't have a chance at an interview. Honestly, I'm glad I got denied in a way; I don't want to work in an environment like that, but still, the amount of fucking disrespect I feel from not even receiving a reply frustrates me. I have applied to jobs and still haven't received a reply from any, so I guess I will continue being a NEET until I hopefully get a job and start making money. Seriously fuck this job market.

Stupid moment while trying to escape NEETdom

Hello again, r/NEET.

I don't usually post twice in one day, but I applied to a place a few days ago and never heard back. I called them today to follow up and completely embarrassed myself.

I said, "Hi, I wanted to know if anyone has looked at the resumes lately," but I think she misheard me because she responded with something about "red soup." I repeated, "Resume," and she said, "I don't have anything to do with that."

Then, in a nervous voice, I said, "Can you... forward that to whoever handles the resumes?" She said, "Excuse me?" I started repeating myself, "Can you..." and then I just hung up because I felt humiliated and stupid.

How can someone mess up this badly? I feel incompetent around everyone and embarrassed to even be seen. I'm trying my hardest to escape NEETdom, but it feels like every time I try to move forward, I mess something up along the way.

2nd interview today. Wish me luck, NEET friends

Hi r/NEET

Been applying for a while now and this is only my second interview so far. The first one didn’t go anywhere. At Walmart they basically used my age as a reason not to hire me, even though I met the qualifications for the role (you just had to be 18+ for that position anyway). So that was frustrating.

At this point I’ve shifted toward fast food just to get something going, even though I’ve heard mixed things about it being a rough job. Honestly, I’m just trying to get my foot in the door somewhere and start building experience. My interview is later today, so I’m hoping I can finally land my first job.

I also had some issues on the home front when I first started trying to work. My mom wasn’t really supportive of me getting a job and kept making excuses to delay it. Meanwhile, my younger brother (2 years younger) is now being allowed to apply, which is a bit frustrating to watch unfold.

I posted on r/tacobell asking for some interview advice and got a mix of responses, but a lot of the usual Reddit “you should be chasing your dream job” type comments. I don’t really buy into the whole “dream job” idea for myself. I’m mainly just looking for income and stability. Long term I just want to move up to better-paying work once I have experience.

For context, I’ve been a NEET since December 2024. I’ve been wanting to change that for a while now. I’m tired of just waiting around for small amounts of money here and there and feeling like I’m stuck doing nothing productive. Even gaming doesn’t really feel rewarding anymore, so I just want something structured to do and a reason to get out of the house.

If this interview doesn’t work out, I’ll just keep applying and trying other places. I know it might take a few tries before anything sticks. My goal right now is just to get started somewhere and go from there.

Interview’s in a few hours, wish me luck.

Got an interview tomorrow

I'm really nervous because I have had 1 interview and it failed. I live close to the one I'm applying for, but my hair always looks a mess, and I refuse to shave my mustache, but it looks unkempt because of a lack of an electric razor. Any tips?

How do I find out my gender identity and sexuality

I know I'm into women, but I don't know if I'm into men. Sometimes I am attracted to them, but other times I'm not. I think I'm trying to deny that I am, but the more I think of it, the more I realize that I may be into men to some extent. As for gender, I am very confused to the point where it causes me stress. I've considered myself a trans girl, gender nonconforming, but I feel like I stopped doing it ever since I was bullied and called slurs and harassed for it online. I told one friend in real life, but she didn't care at all. But sometimes I feel like a male. I don't know if it has to do with my body or something else. Genuinely, how do you find out this? I'm scared to come out as trans if I am because my family will hate me. I really wish I could find a way to go about this.

How do you even land a job now?

I've been a NEET for over a year. I didn't apply because I had no ID or anything, but I got my ID about 6 months ago, and I've been applying for quite a while. I went to one interview, and I never received a call back. I know this is a subreddit for NEETs, but I'm here asking a question for ex-NEETs and Ex-wagies specifically. I don't think a job will make me happier, but I think having money would allow me to do more things. I really am tired of being a NEET, and I'm ready to get money.

I've done basically everything in Bully, and my life is empty.

Seriously how does one deal with life? Bully was something I couldn't stop playing, but now that there's everything done, it feels like there's absolutely nothing left to do. I wish we could have some spinoff or a second game. How did you guys deal with life after finishing Bully? I'm not even kidding; that game just has something so special about it: the atmosphere, the setting, the soundtrack. I've played games for most of my life and I haven't ever played a game like that
