Hi guys, I know these are awful (I literally picked up a second hand G3 two days ago!), it’s my first camera.
Anyway, photos are decent of general outdoors, but when I’m zooming trying to get photos of my fave animal (deer) the quality is RUINED.
Looking at the details afterwards, my figures were ISO 160, 91 MM, 0 EV, f5.6 and 1/30 s.
I know that explains the blurs and awful quality, but I’m kinda unsure on how to set everything and what would be best for this scenario.
I’m sure you’re all laughing! Please help though, lol. Thank you :)
Hi guys! Picked up my first “proper” camera today and I love it so far, been playing around with it. It came with a lens, but I’m already keen to upgrade for better detailing and wider shots. Do you guys think the lenses are the real deal? Can they really level up the shots?

Hey guys, I was diagnosed with gastritis and have been on PPI’s for a month. My dr told me to stop after 4 weeks, wait for 2, then go back if symptoms persist. He also couldn’t rule out ulcers.
Naproxen was the only thing that helped touch the sides of my period pain (I vomit, pass out & generally become very unwell on my period). The other thing was cocodamol/codeine & paracetamol. Problem with that is obviously being an opiod causes delayed emptying = constipation.
Any other idea for a strong prescription alternative I could ask for? Please help! Thank you. (UK based)
Hey all, I got told that if things decline further, I will have to go inpatient again. I’m really trying hard doing partial hospitalisation, but unfortunately I also became unwell with a stomach condition caused by my ED lately.
Anyway, remaining as stable as I can and doing my best each day despite it.
In light of my physical health deteriorating because of ED, I’ve been told that I shouldn’t be driving. It’s not a legal requirement, but I’d be silly to ignore it and would never want to harm other road users.
When/how did you decide you could safely drive again?
Thank you.
Hey everyone. Been so motivated to recover, and have made some little progress. However, after intense pain, hospital trips, morphine and sheer agony, I’ve been diagnosed with gastritis.
I’m feeling really disappointed. I know I still need to eat, and I want to. This is wreaking havoc on my mental state, and my physical, which isn’t my fault (but I cannot let it get worse). I don’t want to be admitted again.
If anyone has dealt with this too, please share some hope? Thank you.
I’m feeling very upset. I got referred by my GP to the RTC service back in May 2024. The wait time was max of 6-8 months. Here I am, and the ICB have paused funding, meaning I won’t even be considered until 2027…
I have anorexia nervosa too, and this diagnosis would really give me a chance in my recovery - to understand how I can negotiate traits separate from my ED.
I’m more upset this was flagged back when I was diagnosed with AN 7 years ago, but was swept under the carpet because “it wouldn’t be helpful” for me to have a diagnosis. Now it’s been a common topic of possibility among my clinicians. I just want to understand myself and my needs better.
I’m so upset and feel defeated.
Hey everyone, I am wondering if anyone has dealt with either of these before? I went to the urgent treatment centre and after physical examination and some baseline tests, they suspect acute gastritis, but they can’t rule out cholecysitis. They advised me to go to A&E, or wait until tomorrow for an urgent dr appointment (hopefully would be referred for scans).
My symptoms are:
- early satiation
- rising nausea WITH severe back pain
- comes in waves but is very intense (curl up in a ball type of pain)
- hiccups
- general fatigue
- maybe unrelated but my ALT is high?
This is such unfortunate timing - I was like a day in to recovery, all looking hopeful and then BAM. I am trying to hold hope, just wondering how to manage this. My dietician has me on a day support programme, but I think I’ll need to discuss alternatives to the current plan to help my abdomen/stomach.
I’m at a loss now. I think I’ll wait for the doctor’s appointment as I really can’t handle A&E.
If you’ve read this - thank you.
Hey guys, I’ve been told it’s day patient or inpatient. I’m not doing inpatient again, I can’t it’s excessively restrictive. I don’t know whether to give it a go, or try with a different meal plan to follow at home under guidance of the same dietitian.
I just don’t want to be surrounded by others struggling again, but I also struggle to do it myself. I also have autism, so the change and “surprises” on this programme will not work well with me.
I don’t know what to do.
Hey guys! I haven’t played in well over a year. I’ve cleaned out my mods and ready to start again and get stuck in playing. Any storyline ideas you’ve been having fun with? Any creators you keep up to date with and watch play? Thank you💚
EDIT: Thanks everyone, they’re all so different and interesting! I didn’t expect so many replies, won’t be bored now! :)
Hi everyone, I’ve been set on a masters programme I am determined to do (UK).
I studied at a drama school, it was supposed to be a three year course, but eventually after first year I was severely unwell and then hospitalised for over half a year, so I had to leave.
I decided to try again, different course (similar theme to my dream masters), different university. I’m in the same position and have become very unwell. I completed first year. I love studying, I loved both my courses. I did really well in both of them.
I want to apply for my masters at the same drama school I got my 1 year completed certificate from. I applied previously, and they said I should reapply but gain some more experience (at this time I still didn’t have a full BA/BSc). So, I embarked on this journey to get more experience and knowledge, however I am unwell again.
My health is quite exceptional circumstances, and I do have years experience working in the field related to what I want to do my masters in. I really don’t know what to do.
Is it worth discussing with admissions and getting a clearer idea on what their requirements for this masters course are at the specific unis?
I feel leaving and going in to work might be best for me with being able to focus more on my health alongside. I’m so afraid of wasting time.
I’m feeling quite upset tonight, I saw a post saying that someone developed an ED because they actually wanted one. Now I’m spiralling and wondering if this was an element for me initially… but then there’s the argument that it’s already present, because no one who is ‘well’ wants to be disordered. I don’t know, I’m confused. Is this all my fault?
I also wasn’t aware the complications of an ED when I developed mine, and had little knowledge on the effects that would occur. I’m confused and panicking this is all my fault if that thought did ever cross my mind. It has me wondering tonight if I even deserve to get better.
I’m just frustrated and have no idea what to do.
I’ve had various forms of treatment over the past years on multiple occasions, both from outpatient, inpatient and general hospitals. I’ve never tried day hospital before, which is what my team are offering to prevent another inpatient admission. I’ve just managed to get my head around the concept, but they require two weekly weigh ins, in my underwear. I’ve already expressed why I believe this would be counterintuitive for me, but they insist it is necessary. They will not alter that requirement, and I know that it’s necessary for inpatient too, as experienced.
I could blind weigh, but even that distresses me enormous amounts. Also, my therapist wants me to be looking at it, to “challenge” its power. I’d rather not, but I’m not getting very far arguing my reasoning.
When I was most recently inpatient, it was a forced decision and I didn’t have “capacity”. My dietitian then though it would be a good idea to agree a BMI to get to and maintain, I (or my ED, I’d only been there a few days) suggested an unhealthy one, and she agreed. She told my ED that was ok. So once I reached it, and she (to my surprise) argued to carry on, I ceased further treatment and eventually left the 7 month stay in a better but non-healthy state, physically and mentally.
I’m really afraid to be honest. Do I just do it and suck it up? Or will it harm me further?
I stumbled across an article yesterday and had been engrossed in it until the early hours of the morning. Dr Guisinger’s theory of an evolutionarily migration response - I’m just wondering if anyone else has heard about this/felt this (one of many) theoretical explanation resonates? I feel as though this new found theory/perspective makes me question the past 7 years of “treatment”.
I know each individual case is so different, and I think there are multiple factors that can all coincide to the manifestation of anorexia, but the easy narrative by Bruch of “control” or “childlike state” was pushed on me so much. My childhood was traumatic, why would I be wanting to go back to that (fear of growing up)? Control can also be a symptom of the disorder, not just a cause.
Anyway, I fell down a rabbit hole and had many revelations; including a 3 hour talk with my mother, who admitted she, and her mother (my nana) have both struggled with an eating disorder. This also led me to consider genetics as a factor. I’m not dismissing anyone, this is just my situational observations. I think two things can coincide as I said various factors at play.
Maybe though I needn’t put some much pressure on working out WHY (I am a psychology student, lol), because the fact remains recovery is the only way out (food&weight)! I believe it can be possible, and we don’t necessarily need a clear picture. It can just be helpful for some to have more insight. Sending my love to all you guys. ❤️
I’m not quite sure how to phrase this, but I find that scrolling helps to distract my racing anxious thoughts, whereas laying in bed without it makes my brain go crazy. I’m a chronic overthinker, and worrier, no matter how much journalling or therapy I do. I’m sure it’s not healthy, but it must be a better alternative to the mental torment alone in the dark?
My issue is, I loved my daily journal and decorated it nicely… however the entries as of late have felt so depressive. I know it’s good to get it out on paper, but it makes the vibe feel oppressive and off even when I pick it up. Do I keep writing (even if it turns out to be a horrible future read, and makes me feel rubbish), or do I get a new journal and leave that one empty. I need the thoughts out, but unsure whether to put them in that diary, or my other brain dump sketchpad…
I just want some nice entries! If anyone’s had this dilemma please let me know what you did. 🫶 ps I know it’s not for aesthetic purposes, it’s just even writing in it feels difficult now :/
Hey everyone,
I have been an avid journaler for years, particularly when it comes to my thoughts and feelings. I struggle really badly with my mental health, so it became my rock when I was in the hospital. Anyway, I have been struggling with an awful bout of insomnia, and I have now been given some strong medicine to help with it initially because I am chronically sleep-deprived. I know a lot of this is due to worrying and anxiety; I have a sheer amount of things going on, and they are all ruminating. I want to look into brain-dump techniques, turning something chaotic into organised and routinely structured. Most of my worries are surrounding things/events/appointments. I need to have a space to word-vomit, and then organise. I looked at the Alastair Method, and it interested me - can anyone recommend any other techniques? Thanks so much.
Hey everyone, after a very scary, long, psychotic inducing bout of insomnia I was prescribed Zopiclone for a week. Dosage of 3.75, but I can take up to two at night. I took one at 10:30pm, time passed and I checked my phone, it was 4am. So I took the other pill, checked the time again and it was 8:30am. But I still don’t know if I slept??? I’m confused and hoping I did manage to a bit.
I really want to preserve with it, and I think I’ll take two tonight at a time. If anyone has similar experience with it I’d be interested. Thanks a bunch. :)
