(NOTICE: no more comments about the title place, I didn't know and can't edit -.-;)

So the main antagonist for the first arc of my PMD series is an Obstagoon, whom I affectionately nicknamed Goon (note that in keeping with the canon PMD and Pokepark games, all of my characters are referred to only by their species and, for the most part, are the only members of their species that we see), and I’ve always wondered how he’d be seen by fans

Story for him is that he was once a little Galatians Zigzagoon living a rough life out in the wild. Nobody would ever help him, villagers would drive him away, and some people would even attack him, all because he was a wild mon and due to his species’ reputation

But then one day he met a Flaaffy who dedicated their life to helping others. They were the first person to treat him kindly and the two of them formed a rescue team together

Unfortunately they eventually had a falling out, as while Flaaffy wanted to help everybody and believed that Goon would be the same way after knowing firsthand what it’s like to not be helped, Goon came to feel like they were just using him and didn’t actually care about him (it’s just a misunderstanding really)

After the two broke off Flaaffy would become an Ampharos, a guild master, and the leader of his village, fulfilling his lifelong dream, while Goon became bitter, envious, and resentful, eventually forming his own band of outlaws and outcasts dedicated to destroying everything Ampharos worked so hard to build

While Ampharos believes Goon to be a lost cause, the protagonist of my series, a naive young Eevee, being the all-loving hero that they are, believes that he’s just lashing out because he’s hurt

I’ve always wondered who the audience might agree more with, and whether or not there find Goon sympathetic. Either way I always felt like he’s one of my best written characters and is one of my favorites because of it

Also, being an Obstagoon, he’s naturally a singer, expressing his pain and rallying his army through his songs (writing songs is *way* beyond my ability but I do know a couple that I thought would fit him)

As one last detail, I’ve thought about making him into a girl more than a few times 😅 Doesn’t really add or change anything, but I feel like it might help him stand out more as an antagonist (also has some fun implications as well. Ampharos is gay, so imagine Goon was in love with him only to realize that he’s incapable of loving them back, and ends up feeling hurt and betrayed by this, especially if Flaaffy didn’t word it right [ie, “I don’t love you that way…” vs “I’m into guys…”, but either way she would’ve opened up her heart for the first time, to someone she felt truly cared about her, only to be rejected by them, and that’s gotta hurt no matter what])

But what do you think? Did I do a good job at writing an interesting character, or is it hot garbage like I always feared? 😅(/j mostly, I still love this project of mine even if I have doubts at times, and feel like it does have a lot of potential)

Yet another thought for my OCs, this one I had for this morning

So, at the start of season two Mike went to the Hotel in search of asylum and things have been… bad for him

Especially since in my au i decided to replace the Hotel background characters with my OCs, he’s been through a lot, including tripping and landing on Angel Dust, leading to him getting accused of being a pervert (if only Angel knew…) and kicked away by Cherri, as well as being attacked by Niffty due to being a giant rat

But more notably, these three incidents

When Charlie invites the Vees to the Hotel it makes Mike very uncomfortable in addition to Angel Dust, revealing that he used to work for VoxTek during its early years, and during Charlie’s attempt at redemption he ends up panicking and running away

During Husk’s therapy session Husk basically tells him that getting killed by the mafia, exploited by Vox, and losing his virginity to Valentino is his own goddamn fault for being such a complete idiot, which… of course hits pretty hard (I mean that’s the kind of thing that would leave the guy crying)

And before I thought about all of this I had the idea for an incident where Foxington tries to be friendly towards him only to end up accidentally triggering his ptsd with Val

But anyways after everything that happened Mike decides that he just does not feel safe around anyone at the Hotel and that redemption isn’t worth it either, so he ends up leaving at the end of season 2 (instead of Angel Dust) and decides to go back to living in the streets, possibly even going back to petty theft

Alternatively, I had one scene idea in mind…

Him arriving at an apartment, standing before a door and reluctantly knocking on it. No response until he says it’s him. We then hear numerous locks click before it opens to reveal a pair of glowing eyes peering out from the darkness

”Uh… hi mom…”

Mike then apologizes, for everything, saying he’s ready to come home and go straight, clearly afraid that she’ll turn him away. She then asks him if he has any idea how worried she’s been for the past decades… before pulling him into a big, tight hug, saying she’s just glad he’s okay…

Sort of continuing off my previous post

After an incident with Mike had his attempts at being friendly result in triggering his PTSD, and having his therapy session with Husk had him that the reason no one loves him is his own damn fault, Fox is left sitting in his room, realizing that his behavior is inappropriate and his demeanor is driving people away

He finds himself staring at his gloved hands… before removing his gloves, something we’ve never seen him without, along with his top hat and even the rest of his clothes

He’s decided that it’s time for a change, to reinvent himself, to stop pretending to be something he’s not.

The trouble is… he has nothing else to wear.

I’ve had the idea of him walking in with the most ridiculous looking outfit that leaves everyone, even Olivia, staring at him (“The fox are you wearing?”), or even nothing at all, as well as an idea for him asking Angel Dust for help picking out clothes as he figures they probably know the most about fashion out of everyone at the Hotel

I did wonder what how to make him look (cue him trying different outfits) and even thought about asking for ideas, but then I figured he’d probably end hm with casual clothes, something he’s never worn before, and with them he feels like he won’t have to pretend to be something he’s not and just… be himself for once!

Wanted to know how your OCs would react to Husk’s attempt at therapy and came to think about my OCs

Sir Foxington would lament over his status of being unloved, saying how his mother seemed to hate him for existing and he never had any friends growing up, so he never really got to experience what it was like to have someone love and care for him outside of the servants whose job it was to do. If Husk responded with his usual insults Foxi would take it very personally, thinking he’s right about him not being deserving of love… (best case scenario he’ll it as a need to improve himself, which he ultimately does)

Lilly, after explaining how her parents constantly argued and fought to the point she ran away and then worked various dead end jobs to get by, and subsequently being insulted would cheerfully declare “Well! I’m done with this.” and walk out, refusing to attend therapy if Husk is just going to insult her (way to go Husk, you just scared away a guest). She’d also be left lying in bed, trying to convince herself that her parents fighting wasn’t her fault…

Mike… oh boy. Mike would steal to survive, got killed by the mafia when he was only 19 years old, got exploited by Vox, and then lost his virginity to Valentino. If he was made to feel like it was all his fault for being a complete idiot… well that poor boy needs a hug…

Damian would simply stare blankly before commenting that he doesn’t think Husk is good at it, and attempting therapy himself, actually doing a surprisingly good job at it as, despite his lazy and snarky demeanor, he’s very wise and insightful, figuring out what their problems are and how they can go about fixing them

(edit: Damian wouldn’t really have any problems to come with, at least none that he’d admit; he’d just be there to watch)

Olivia would only be there to watch and take notes of her observations. I can also imagine she’s been through enough of that sort of thing growing up due to her parents’ concern over her psychopathic personality disorder. (Can actually imagine Husk looking slightly disturbed as she calmly explains this.) She knows what she is and she doesn’t have any issues with it.

Saw a Caine (TADC) animatic ft. the characters from Animation vs (epic series, if I hadn't said it before; the video I saw was also absolutely amazing) and once again got me thinking about my OC Sir Foxington and how easily he could be compared to Caine, and how easily he could fill a villain role if things had gone differently with him

Sir Foxington is a demon from Hell's nobility and takes in lost souls in need of a place to stay, allowing them to live under his protection and care in exchange for becoming his servants. He is very lonely, never having any friends growing up and being closer to the servants that raised him than to his actual biological family; his servants are all he has, and he can be desperate to hold onto them as a result. He doesn't want to have to let any of them go, and he enjoys being able to take care of them as well

Again it's easy to see how he can be a villain or at least an antagonist, and I have pictured him filling the latter role (thought of making a series with the protagonist being a young woman who finds themselves under his care, but I can't really come up with any ideas for it)

However while listening to some of the characters' complaints, I thought about how some of them could be applied to Foxington, and how some of them couldn't. While Sir Foxington's motives are selfish, not wanting to be alone, he does genuinely care for the souls that he owns and would never want to do anything to hurt them, and I feel that if it really came down to it he probably would release them if that was the only thing to make them happy, even it'd leave him alone and miserable...

(gosh is it just me or does this sound like some great character stuff?^^;; I hope somebody comments their thoughts on this)

My last post made me think of this. How would Charlie’s interview with Vox go if she used one of your OCs as an example for redemption, and/or how would her interview with Katie Killjoy go if she brought one of your OCs to talk about the Hotel?

I actually have versions for both in my AU

For the first interview she cited Mike as an example along with Angel Dust, which is how we found out that Mike used to work for VoxTek back in its early years and is apparently suffering from ptsd from his experience with Val. In fact during her big setup towards the end Mike ends up panicking and running away, and after things calm down they realize he isn’t at the Hotel (Charlie just scared away one of her only guests…)

Lilly I already mentioned in my last post, brought on for support and then put on the spot, panicking and running away just like Mike did, even having her own ptsd with her parents unintentionally triggered and calling out Charlie for her actions, before telling everyone what she thinks about the Hotel and overcoming her stage fright in the process

Was thinking about some stuff with my OC Lillian Rabbit earlier and this led me thinking about a scene idea I had

So anyways in my au I imagined that during Charlie's interview with Katie Killjoy she ended up bringing Lilly with her for emotional support instead of Niffty (smart move), during which we see Lilly filling a similar role of holding up signs like "YOU GOT THIS!", and later writing "KATIE KYS" which she shows while performing an akanbe (Japanese taunt, tugging at her eyelid and sticking out her tongue), a nice little reference to her Japanese side

But then Charlie brings her on camera to have her tell everyone about the Hotel, and this leads to Lilly getting stage fright, deer in headlights moment before she panics and runs away, Charlie running after her and Katie clearly amused by this

Lilly apologies for what happens and I was originally thinking Charlie would apologize for putting her on the spot like that, but then I figured she'd probably try to remind Lilly how important this is to her, and this leads to a brief glimpse of who we can assume is Lilly's mother (giving us some implications to their relationship), causing Lilly to snap at her and calling her out for her selfish behavior, such as putting her on the spot along with Mike and Angel Dust, caring more about her reputation than her feelings, which serves as a nice little wakeup call for her

This in turn leads to Lilly deciding to help out, facing her fears in the process (a big step for her). She looks at the camera and all the people there, we see all of the Pentagram watching, and she takes a deep breath to calm herself before giving her story, explaining how she had a pretty shitty life growing up, as she's sure most of those watching have, and then just when things started to feel normal for her her life was ended and she woke up in Hell, in her current form. She was scared, and confused, but then she saw a commercial for the Hotel and went to get redeemed and get into Heaven, only to find out it was a new thing and hadn't been proven to work

But she stuck around because it was all she really had, and in that time she's come to make some real friends and come to see that Charlie truly believes that anyone can be redeemed, which she thinks is a beautiful thing, especially in a world where so many people have given up hope of things ever being better, to the point where they stop trying... (a beautiful speech and one that Katie can't think of any snide remarks for)

As said earlier this experience is actually a big character development moment for Lilly; at the end of season 2 it's mentioned how she decided to work as a lounge singer for the Hotel, finally living out her childhood dream of being a singer, as well as encouraging guests to express themselves through song (which also gives Olivia, working as the Hotel's therapist, a means to learn more about them)

So, like most (if not all) gimmick Pokemon, Smeargle aren’t usually thought of as anything special, but when you think about it their gimmick - being able to permanently learn just about ANY move - is extremely OP in the wrong hands, being held back only by its poor stats and, to an extent, the four move limit

However in a fictional scenario where neither of these are a concern… we have the potential for an extremely versatile and unpredictable fighter…

Specifically I had this scene in my head (inspired by a scene from Animation vs) of Lucario, considered the greatest warrior of the region my series takes place, facing off against a Smeargle from another region, and the first attack Smeargle uses is Telekinesis to *fling* Lucario into the ceiling, followed by Gravity to send him **crashing** back down into the floor!

And if he wanted to be could easily just do this over and over until he’s defeated… but where’s the fun in that? 😈

Instead he shows off just how skilled he is at using various different moves, and in combination with each other, and you never know what to expect from him…

All the while he maintains a cool, cocky, levelheaded attitude, knowing that he’s in complete control over the situation…

Saw a video someone did of Caine's "Who's Running the Show" from the Amazing Digital Circus featuring the characters from Animation vs Animator (aka one of THE most epic shows I have ever seen) and it gave me some thoughts...

Back when the song first came I naturally imagined how well it fit with a couple OCs of mine

Lord Fabio is basically Caine, the owner of an amusement park that traps people's souls in Everlasting Fun (another song that fits well) and entertainment, specifically with him putting Rodney in his place for his defiance, and possibly punishing the others along with it

As well as Sir Foxington, who owns souls simply because he's lonely and doesn't have any friends, and if he were a villain he'd definitely have a great villain song about never wanting to let them go^^; (Remi's villain song once again fits)

But after seeing this! I had a few ideas

First off, imagine Vox singing this to the main cast while torturing them 0.0;;;;

Second, I had the idea (kinda moved past it now^^;) for an antagonist to be the mastermind orchestrating numerous events in the series, including Alastor's rise to power as well as Vox's war against Heaven, though I've had two ideas for this character, the first being The Wolf, looking to get revenge against Heaven for killing his lover, and the second being The Puppet King, looking to take over Hell

Either way this song would fit well given that They Are the Mastermind (yet another song reference but not intentional this time)

Just had to share this thought XD;

edit: was also picturing Foxington's own father doing this, all this just to push his son into becoming what he was born to be...

Made a Mother's Day post a couple days ago and just saw one that inspired this idea

Thinking about my OCs (those that have mothers anyways) the answer is actually quite interesting

It's Sir Foxington!

His... biological mother is actually the worst of the bunch, being a horrible mother towards him and a HORRIBLE person in general (like truly horrible), but he spent most of his life being raised by his maid, Mary, who was a very king and caring maternal figure towards him, did her best to teach him to be a good person, and isn't afraid to scold or discipline him (or anyone for that matter and I do mean anyone!) even as an adult

While she isn't his (or anyone's) mother biologically, she's still the best mother he could ask for, and I'd say is everything a good mother should be

For all intents and purposes she is his real mother and that's how he views her 💖🥰

Oh right, honorable mention goes to Matilda, who is (or was...) a mother. She lived a life of poverty and prostitution, trying to provide for her son as best she could. He was her life and world and made all her struggles feel worth it, and losing him was devastating for her... (in an rp with a friend of mine she's able to find a new family ❤️)

For what it's worth Foxi himself would also be a good father...

He finally reached the other side of the mountain last night and he is HIGH up off the ground (like, cloud level!), overlooking a plains biome with *three* MASSIVE caverns/pits, and discovered a whole BUTTLOAD of coal and iron on top of said mountain, along with a couple emeralds! (edit: forgot to mention there’s also a couple beehives but they're all positioned over an edge so they’re hard to reach)

He’s got like 40 iron ingots, with a few dozen more to smelt, and he’s STILL got tons more to mine! 0.0 (and before all he could find was copper!)

Also he’s got a little house set up here, made entirely out of polished granite due to having more granite than he knows what to do with after mining out a couple *massive* pockets of it!

Randomly remembered this idea I had a kid, one inspired by SpongeBob’s first Christmas special

I had also imagined the PMD world likely having its own holidays but imagine the player/former-human protagonist tells everyone about the holidays on Earth and they love the idea so much they start to celebrate them themselves and really go all out!

(from there I can also imagine a plot similar to the aforementioned Spongebob episode or even one episode of Gumball, where the player/protagonist realizes that Santa’s not coming to give everyone gifts and so they and their partner/team rush to get gifts to everyone in town before they wake up XD

or alternatively a more wholesome and simple idea of all the characters making and exchanging gifts with each other and likely celebrating everything else the holiday has to offer^^)

Of course this idea would probably be more appropriate to share around Christmas time but it randomly popped into my head and I just had to share

With Mother’s Day coming up I figured I’d talk about my OC’s mothers and the relationships between them

Lilly has a strained relationship with both her parents but managed to reconnect with her father during season 3, though I imagine her mother is a broken mess after what happened with her husband and daughter

Sir Foxington’s mother is Selena so if you know you know (if not I’ll be happy to explain), but he has a much better relationship with Mary, his maid, and his real mother growing up

Mike and his mother have a bit of a rocky relationship but she does care about him, having wanted for him to turn out better than his father, being disappointed in the choices he made and worrying about him, and being glad that he made friends who care about him

Damian’s mother is now Eve so… we know nothing about her 😅

An idea I once had for Samuel, based off an SCP video I once saw :P

Lilly didn’t really sin more than the average person so she should be fine, but you know how people can be, though she might get sympathy for her backstory

Mike has a lot of people who want him dead

Damian’s current backstory is that he’s Cain so… as long as Abel forgives him! XD;

Olivia is royally screwed

Bit of an update on my last post here (about my dad getting addicted to Minecraft)

Context is he spawned into the world on a mountainside overlooking a lake that is basically surrounded by mountains like one big bowl

So yesterday he decided to tunnel his way through the mountains rather than climb over them and apparently he went through THREE copper picks and he's not even on the other side yet! XD

I don't know if what I have can be counted as depression and of course it's no where near as bad as what others go through, but it is a recurring issue for me, usually brought on by boredom and loneliness from not having my friends and not having anything to do; in situations like this I find myself just... unable to feel true joy and even lacking the motivation to do stuff, like normally I have plenty of passion projects I obsessively work on, including a couple games that actually cured my depression by playing them, but when I get like this I just lack the energy and motivation to do them

When my friends are available I often perk right up but once they're gone or if I'm not able to do the stuff I want with them, I start to go back down again....

Idk, I just felt like this was something I needed to say... don't know if anyone will be able to help or not, but I just wanted to put this out there

I got Bruno’s song stuck in my head again this morning and it reminded me of a thought I had based off it (sometimes when I’m watching shows I like to imagine my ocs in place of the characters and try to figure out how the scenario would make sense with their lore, and sometimes I get some good ideas from it)

In this case there were a couple lines towards the end that I felt could fit my characters pretty well, if they had their futures predicted by the fortune teller Xatu…

Eevee: He told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and some day be mine…

Squirtle: He told me that my power would grow like the grapes that thrive on the vine…

Charmander: He told me that the love of my dreams would be just out of reach… in love with another… It’s like I hear them now!

Eevee would eventually get to live out their lifelong dream of performing on stage (and subsequently evolve into a Sylveon)

Squirtle, though shy and anxious, would become much stronger and braver after evolving into a Wartortle

Charmander’s the fun one, as I imagined this line being accompanied by the image of him looking sadly at a Pikachu and a Minccino, the Pikachu being his best friend and the Minccino being their lover, implying he lost the girl of his dreams to his own best friend, only for it to later be revealed that he’s actually been in love with Pikachu this whole time!

(and if you’re wondering about Pikachu, I had imagined him piecing together a prediction and immediately regretting it

”Why did I talk about Xatu..?”

An image of him and his friends fleeing from a black hole as it swallows up their world…

A bit of foreshadowing to a future event ;3c)

Of course this is all just a fun thought I had but I can see a moment in my series where they visit Xatu to learn their futures, assuming I ever make it

And for fun, feel free to share what sort of future predictions Xatu might make for your own characters! Keep in mind that the exact meaning of these predictions would probably be ambiguous, as future predictions tend to be, but every word of it turns out the true in the end
