He Traded Places With The Dead Woman

Having spent decades in the Bar/ Night Club business I’ve seen many crazy things, this is one of them. Much of this comes directly from the Bartender in question.

I worked at a large Country Western Bar, it was massive. On busier nights there might be as many as 10 - 11 Bartenders working.

One day shift some Detectives from an adjacent County came in asking questions about a Bartender. By their description it could only be one girl based on height, build and ethnicity.

They were investigating the death of a woman driver who was killed as a result of a Drunk driving incident. The male passenger was injured but alive.

According to the man, the couple had been served approximately 18 drinks EACH during the day shift paying cash for all of them. He described the Bartender. Detectives wanted to talk to her.

The Mgr. called her to come in to talk to the Detectives. Based on the man’s story she could be held liable for over serving the couple leading up to the woman’s death.

The Bartender was scared, she could be in real trouble. She was asked if she remembered the couple, she did not. Did she see an obviously impaired couple she did not. Bartender asked what time they were supposed to be there.

The Bartender was not even working during that timeframe, verified with time cards, schedule and Other Employees. There was no way she served them. He must have seen her working previously, she was very memorable.

The Detectives left. Bartender was later told that the Physical Evidence was inconsistent with the man’s story.

The truth was, the man was driving, his passenger died. He switched places putting her behind the wheel. Her seat belt bruise went from top right to bottom left . His bruise went from top left to bottom right. which means… she was in the passenger seat at the time of the accident .

I have never been in Law Enforcement, or had any Forensic training. But some big questions arise.

18 Drinks EACH??? They would be unconscious not driving.

Why didn’t they sort through the physical evidence before scaring the Hell out of that poor girl?

Where did they really get drunk? At home?

How was this not a huge news story?

The man admitted what he had done. No news story. Nothing in the newspaper .
No idea what happened to the guy.

Girl Went Missing…She Was In The Goldfish

In the Gentlemen’s Club where I managed, we always had a girl checking Id’s and collecting cover charge.

One day she called me to the front door. She opened the door and pointed across the street. “It’s the Goldfish Mobile”, they parked at the restaurant so no one would know they were at a Gentlemen’s Club.

It was a giant Goldfish with big black sunglasses built on an auto chassis. She said the two guys driving it were inside.

Our shift ended without any problems, when I left the Goldfish was gone.

The Door Girl missed her next day shift, no messages from her and she wouldn’t answer her phone. We got really worried . Her roommate didn’t know anything. It was unlike her to miss a shift. We even tried to contact someone from her Applicstion under Emergency contact. It was time to call the Police

By this time she had missed two shifts. We received a call from her roommate . She was in Arizona having the time of her life riding in the Goldfish Mobile. She was safe.

Maybe she fell in Love. She never came back to work, never collected her last check. All we know… she was in the Goldfish .

Yummm, They Taste Good!

It was a few minutes before we opened for lunch. The waitresses had finished with their duties and were huddled up with their phones out (as usual).

They were showing pictures of their pets to each other. You could hear them say stuff like “This is Mister Whiskers my cat”. I overheard one girl say “This is my pet Iguana.” Immediately the waitress from Costa Rica clearly said “Yummm they taste good!”

I laughed, a couple of girls giggled, the owner of the Iguana gasped and asked, “Do you really eat Iguanas?” She said yes, back in Costa Rica they would go to the back yard and grab them off the trees and throw them on the grill. She again mentioned that they taste good.

I told the girl with the pet iguana “Dont invite her for a sleepover .”

The Best Part Was The Hot Blood

This is a true story. Many years ago I worked with a waitress from South America. This girl was in her mid 20’s married to a guy in the Air Force and unbelievably gorgeous. She was quiet and friendly.

In our part of the country there is a serious problem with feral hogs. They cause extensive damage to farms and ranches . Ranchers search for creative ways to eliminate the wild hogs. If they can make money in the process, even better.

As a gift to his wife, the Air Force husband set up a paid hog hunt. Not just any hunt, no firearms, they would hunt with tracking dogs and a spear. She was excited and looking forward to her hunt.

She took a couple of days off. When she returned everyone wanted to know how it went.

The other waitresses were asking questions about the hunt. One girl asked her what her favorite part was. She replied that after she “Used” the spear she finished off the hog with a large knife. The best part was the hot blood flowing over her hand.

I got chills. The room went silent. Everyone slowly walked away. She quit work shortly thereafter, didn’t keep in touch with anyone.
Who would have guessed.

Police Sketch Artist Drew Me Perfectly

As a Criminal Justice Major I got to participate in some Cool activities . The Head of the Alamo Area Law Enforcement Academy asked me for some help.

During a class I was to open the door and yell a women’s name and quickly duck back out. They did not want her to get a good look at me. She was seated at the far end of the room facing away from me.

I yelled her name, she turned around. As soon as she made eye contact I was gone. The instructor asked her to describe me. She said she didn’t get a good look at me.
I was to return the next day at 3:00pm.

They had a Hypnotist ready to “ Put her under?” While Hypnotized she described me to the SAPD Sketch Artist.

The next day I showed up. Clipped to the Black Board was a perfect sketch of me. She went from being unable to describe me to giving a detailed rendering including the logo on my shirt. The Instructor had me stand next to the drawing and asked the class if anyone could pick me out of a Line Up based on the sketch. Every single person agreed.

The Hypnotist was cute, we started talking. After class she asked me if I wanted to be hypnotized,I said yes.

While I was under (?) she was touching my wrist and said she was tying a big helium balloon to my wrist. She told me it was getting bigger and bigger. My arm started rising based on what she was telling me.

To be honest, I didn’t think I was under but afterward she said that I definitely was and I was a good subject.

She said goodbye, didn’t get her number and I forgot my sketch.

She got away with $1,100

I was bartending at a huge Country Western venue. Early in the shift a new waitress walks up to me and asks for a $100 bank, I give it to her as we always do. She in turn writes a “receipt” for it with a name I couldn’t pronounce. I asked her to say her name since we would be working together . She explained it was indigenous Tlingit from Alaska.

She was wearing a uniform, knew procedures and was very confident. I figured she had already been trained since there was no Training waitress assigned to her.

It started getting busy and seated customers were asking if there were any waitresses in that section. She had not ordered any drinks from me which is not unusual .

I asked for a manager so they could find her and have her start serving the seated customers. Manager guy shows up and I tell him about the missing girl. He had no idea where she was and nobody had seen her for quite awhile .

She had hit up all eleven bartenders for $100 banks and just walked out. Upper management would not talk about it, police were never called. She got away with $1,100 in about two hours.
