I loved how Hank told Flynn he should stalk girls even when they say NO, and Marie responds that he stalked her before they "tightened the stalking laws" ... such a stand-up chap
Why didn't Hank apologize to Walter for mocking him for not being tough at his 50th birthday party? Is he stupid?
Najlepšie a domy a oblasti obydlia majú belosi
does this pussy ever stop crying? like, it's not that deep bro ... just nut up and make some meth
Why is Skylar so upset over Walt killing a fast food chain owner? Can't she just start eating more pizza instead?
When is an episode actually really good as a stand-alone episode?
"Ozymandias" sure is a great episode and all, very close to my beloved's Breaking Bad's finale, a memorable part of its final season - season 5. Buuut... is it any good as a stand-alone episode for someone who has never watched the show? ........It is the first time in 5 seasons that we actually see real physical violence happening in the household of the main character, but if we do not know how it feels to see it happen for the very first time, all we think and feel is "Well, some people are fighting"..... At the beginning, an important character dies after 5 seasons of interesting development, but if you do not know the character, why would you care...?
I personally watched "The Rains of Castamere" , the ninth and penultimate episode of the third season of Game of Thrones out of context. The Red Wedding episode is popular and well executed,
but I barely knew who Catelyn and Robb were. I did not care much about the end of the episode - in fact, I thought it was kind of comedic how some random dude offed Catelyn when she was just standing around. Sure, I get it, she is a mom who is sad that her son died, but I had not much more context than that.
....
My best examples for a great stand-alone episode would be:
- "The Body", Buffy the Vampire Slayer. You don't have to know or care about the rest of the series, you might not even have any idea if it's realistic, a fantasy, a drama, horror show.... All you need is in the episode. A bunch of people who clearly care about each other find out, that a mom of one of them just unexpectedly passed away because of post-brain-surgery complication. The entire
episode is just a group of people trying to deal with grief.
No need to know the characters beyond that, it works perfectly as a short film.
- "Five-O", Better Call Saul. Whether you know Mike, or not at all, this is a short story revealing what a character is going through and why. You don't necessarily need to know any backstory
of anyone in the episode. The whole point is that by the end you will find the backstory of Mike who functions as a protagonist of this specific episode and the ending works well as if an ending of a short film.
- "Fish out of Water", the silent episode of BoJack Horseman, takes a place underwater in a world that the fans of the show never met before. It works better, of course, if you know something about BoJack himself, however, going into the episode with no information
still does not ruin most of the zero-dialogue story with a funny and heartbreaking ending. (there is short dialogue in the cold open but zero in the rest of the episode)
- "Free Churro", the monologue-only episode of BoJack Horseman. The entire episode is only Will Arnett giving a eulogy. It works well without the rest of the show, but man, it's mostly depressing.
When you're a badass assassin but also a very polite guy who patiently waits for the mark to finish showering in peace

Rory did not change that much ...
I wonder sometimes why some fans claim that Rory went through a "downfall" in the OS - some say it was after season 3, some after season 2... Granted, season 4 foreshadows both Richard's as well as Rory's failure that are both approaching with the finale. Rory's mistakes after season 2 or season 3, however, simply are a bigger deal because she is a grownup and makes grownup mistakes. She could not very well sleep with a married man at 16 before she even had her first kiss.
It seems to me, however, that Rory was always well-intentioned but messy, as most people between the ages of 16 - 22 tend to be, and she did not really change for better or worse.
...
Season 1:
- Rory openly chooses Dean over Chilton in the pilot, before she even starts dating Dean (does he have a motorcycle? Because if you're gonna throw your life away, he'd better have a motorcycle!)... she even lies to her mother about it. She insists that she is not rejecting Chilton because of a boy, even after Ms Patty confirms it. She
only changes her mind after finding out how much Lorelai was willing to sacrifice to get her to Chilton by the end of the pilot. She was, however,
more than willing to stay at her old high school - just because a cute boy goes there. So the pilot itself warns the viewer that this is, at the end of the day, a story about messy, flawed humans including a messy, flawed teenager, no matter how kind-hearted and studious.
- Rory lied to Lorelai to help Lane to go on the double date. Lorelai is all for helping Lane secretly eat junk food, or even practice music in her kitchen or garage later on, but she always draws line at worrying Mrs Kim about Lane's safety.
Lorelai does not get angry at Rory in season 4, when Lane shows up at Yale, because Rory did not know about Lane's plans, but she immediately calls Lane's mom, explaining to Rory how she would feel if Rory was missing.
But she reprimands Rory about lying to both moms in season 1 - a very typical teenage mistake.
- Rory runs away from home to Emily's and Richard's after a fight, leaving Lorelai absolutely desperate and terrified, alarming Sookie and Max who search for her. She does not even leave a note along the lines of "i am very angry, i need to cool off, going to grandparents', i am safe".
- in a very vulnerable and emotional state she kisses a guy who has done nothing but openly bully and harass her for months, right after seeing him getting dumped, a day after she herself was dumped by a guy who she loves and who made it clear he loves her. No judgement, that is what happens at 16, but man, is it a messy situation. Luckily, Tristan did not escalate that situation.
...
Season 2:
- cheats on Dean at Sookie's wedding
- cuts school to go completely alone to NYC to meet a guy who is not her boyfriend and cannot even wait one day until after her mom's graduation
- lies to Paris that she woke up indeed with a face full of makeup and brushed hair
- lies to Dean with help of Paris about Jess coming over for Paris
- lies to Dean by omission that she is helping Jess study because Luke asked her to
- goes to have the obligatory lunch with Jess and the basket to a place where nobody can see them, being fully aware how uncomfortable it makes her boyfriend,
whereas Lorelai and Luke have no problem having lunch directly in the middle of the town square. Same as Sookie and Jackson.
