Resort for 4 adults, 2 kids?

We are planning ahead for next September to take our (37/38 parents) 2 year old and 8 year old, along with our two moms (late 60s) to Orlando.

We just did the whole nonstop Disney trip this past January, so looking for a more relaxing trip this time around with maybe 1 or 2? park days mixed in.

We really want to find a resort with a 3 bedroom suite that has enough for the kids to do, but is relaxing enough for the grandmas on days we want to just hang at the resort.

So far we looked at:

the grove (scared by the bad reviews recently and the resort + parking fee)

Floridays (doesn’t look like a ton to do)

Wyndham bonnet creek

holiday inn with a waterpark?

and animal kingdom but they wanted 4 months of my salary so that’s out.

Any recommendations? Ty in advance!

Please help - desperate

hi everyone

I've suffered with tmj for just shy of 2 years. I have a constant dull ache on the left side of my jaw/gums/teeth. I’ve tried Botox, mouth guards, I’ve been to the dentist more times than I can count for them to check for cavities etc.

that’s the back story

my 8 year old accidentally punched me in the face (same side as my TMJ issues, right near my mouth) and since yesterday I’ve been in on and off the absolute worst pain in my life. I’ve had two kids and I’d give birth to both of them again 10x over one night with this pain - not kidding.

the doctor gave me 20mg prednisone and a muscle relaxer - that I take anyway “regularly“ if my jaw is especially bad. i can go from being fine talking to wondering if I should drive myself to the er and insist they admit me and drug me into oblivion in 20 minutes. my doctor said it’s nerve spasms because of the inflammation from getting hit, and should subside within a day of prednisone.

has this happened to anyone else? how long did the flare up last? anything you did to lessen the pain? ice has done nothing. ibuprofen obviously did nothing. in all honesty I’m not sure I can cope for another day. I may go to the hospital tomorrow if this continues. I feel like that sounds so dramatic unless you’ve experienced this before.

Check engine light - P2402 - EVAP code?

hey all,

So a month ago I drove with my gas cap off and my check engine light came on. I reset it a few times thinking it would eventually go away but alas.. it has not. got it scanned today and it’s a P2402 - EVAP code.

my dealer said IF it’s the pump it’s covered under an extended warranty. Has anyone else dealt with this and had it not be the part that’s covered? Service manager said its only a 60 percent shot it’s that specific part.

2022 Volkswagen Tiguan eevap

hey guys - hoping someone can help before I fork over a shit ton of money.

i drove with gas cap off for maybe 2 miles? realized it was off and put it back on. that night my check engine light went on. my husbands mechanic reset it. it came back the next day. we cleared it at home, same thing - came on the next day. This was 1.5 months ago-ish

Today I finally got it into my shop, they scanned it (evap code) and reset it. My mechanic said it likely has to go to a shop that works on euro cars exclusively or a dealership for a smoke text for leaks? obviously I want to fix what’s wrong with it, but I’m finding it hard to believe its a coincidence that there’s an actual issue that comes up the DAY I drive with my gas cap off for the first time ever.

All that to say - any idea what would cause this related to driving with the cap off? is it a sensor issue they might find right away, or am I stuck paying for a ton of diagnostics?

thank you!! and sorry if any of the above is laid out ignorantly, I know less than 0 about cars.

Swollen buccal lymph node?

Hi guys,

Our vet has diagnosed this lump in our German Shepard/huskys cheek as a swollen lymph node and put her in anti inflammatory meds. I love our vet, but I thought maybe they’d aspirate the area to check to see what was going on. But I guess if they think it’s a lymph node maybe that’s not needed?

It gets worse with the heat (it’s 100+ here currently) even though she’s only going out for 10 minutes at a time. It’s been this size for the last two days, and so far caprofen hasn’t helped at all (though in fairness it’s only been a day so maybe I was hoping for a miracle)

Her doctor wants her checked in 2 weeks. What are everyone’s thoughts, if any?

Am I completely out of touch?

So to start I’ll say I followed Shelly kowatch for a bit and never actually hit the unfollow button, despite feeling like I was in a black mirror episode every time I watched her grocery shop.

I did have to unfollow when I saw her posting this Ari girl that seems to be popping up everywhere on the “mom” side of Instagram? Am I just old and don’t get it? Why are influencers who call themselves “big sisters” promoting girls who are doing porn? Like I get that onlyfans has changed the landscape but it can’t be this normal now? 😭

I genuinely worry about what the >18 crowd of girls is learning through this being so mainstream and every day I’m so happy I only have to navigate this shit with boys.

Feeling defeated

Hi all. I was diagnosed with a severe concussion on 4.27. On 5.7 my doctor pulled me from work and I went back on 5.29.

Mostly, I’m fine. I work remote and with breaks from admin work I can exist without crazy migraines. I can’t go to the gym, or go into my office because of all the sounds, lights, people talking etc. yesterday I went into the office (restaurant group) and between the music etc I feel literally paralyzed today with the worst migraine I’ve ever had.

Consistently though my fuse is the shortest it’s ever been. If I have a migraine and my kids are yelling I lose my shit. If two people are talking over each other in my house, I also lose my shit. This isn’t like me (I’m not the most relaxed demeanor but I’m also not a freak out person)

I just want to return to normal. I feel like I’m getting anxiety about public places and depressed. We’re supposed to leave for vacation on Monday and I’m not even looking forward to it because I feel like I’ll spend half the time hiding from loud sounds.

I guess I’m not really looking for advice, but wanted to hear if anyone had any relatable experience and hope to share. FWIW I do have my first (the medical system sucks) appt with a neurologist tomorrow as well.

Bump in cheek?

My 1 year old husky German Shepard mix has an out of nowhere “lump” that appeared yesterday. We thought she was stung by a bee (her favorite hobby next to eating bones and sticks in the yard.. chasing bees) or rough housing with our other dog but it hasn’t gone away since yesterday, also hasn’t gotten worse.

It’s soft/doughy and moves a lot under the skin. It doesn’t hurt her. She’s acting completely normal otherwise. Teeth and gums look fine, she’s eating and drinking etc, playing with her bones and our other dog. She takes flea/tick etc combo pills religiously every month.

I noticed when I left both sides of her face she has this same bump just smaller on the other side and it behaves the same way. I saw there are maybe lymph nodes (freaked me out) and glands there that could be an issue but I’m choosing to live in de lulu land so I don’t spiral that maybe it is still just a bite or something from playing? 😫😫

We made a vet appt for Monday but I’m an anxious person in general so I wanted to save my husband the pain of me running to the emergency vet and try asking for thoughts here.

Thank you!!

Hey all,

Went to ER for a concussion last week. (Kid learned he can jump up on my suv trunk, grab the top handle, jump off the bumper to close it.. except my head was inside)

Threw up 3x before my husband made me go to the ER - CT scan was fine, doctor said I have a bad concussion - couldn’t see straight for 3 days, migraine level pain Monday-Saturday that has since gone away.

Right now I have a full ache like the start of a migraine (which unfortunately I’m accustom to) which I assume is normal.

Other things I feel like are not normal but I have nothing to compare to?

-Tried going to the gym today and between the lights and music I thought I was going to have a panic attack, couldn’t keep my eyes focused after 30 minutes, was dizzy etc.

-If two people are talking if feels like my head is being crushed with pressure

-some words it takes me 4 times to say correctly.

I’m remote/have a shit ton of admin work on the computer daily so I’m sure that’s playing a factor in getting “better” but I have been trying to limit my screen time otherwise (outside of here where I’m begging for someone to tell me my brain will return to normal)

Has anyone had the above side effects of a concussion? How long did it take you to go back to baseline?

Thank you for any responses 🫠

Hey guys,

I want to take the husband to a new bbq spot with the kids for his birthday as a surprise. We’ve been to most of the top rated in CT, so wanted to maybe take a day trip and just find something else to do when we go for lunch. I am letting my kids skip school for birthday bbq, don’t judge plz.

Any insight is appreciated! Thanks!!
