Struggled to get a job, now struggling with homesickne

Hello everyone,

About two months ago, I came to the UAE on a visit visa hoping to find a job. It wasn’t easy at all. I attended countless interviews, handed out CVs to companies every day, walked 5–10 km in the heat, and there were days I went back to my room exhausted and even cried, wondering if it would ever work out.

Eventually, I got a job. I was genuinely so happy because all the struggle finally felt worth it.

But now it’s been around 20 days since I joined, and I don’t know why… I’m missing home so much. I was genuinely happy back home, and here I just feel lost. I find myself crying almost every day, missing my parents, my siblings, and the comfort of being with family.

My salary is around AED 3,500. After rent, food, and other expenses, whatever I send back home is almost the same amount I was earning in my home country. Sometimes I wonder if all this distance is really worth it.

I just wanted to share this because maybe someone else has felt the same.

I guess that’s how life is. As humans, we’re always chasing something we don’t have. When we’re home, we dream of opportunities abroad. When we’re abroad, we miss the people and life we left behind.

I just hope this feeling gets better with time.

[For Hire] Remote Customer Support Agent | DoorDash & Verizon Experience | Available Part-Time | $15/hr

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for a remote part-time customer support opportunity.

I have previous experience working as a Customer Support Agent for DoorDash and Verizon, where I handled customer queries, troubleshooting, and issue resolution through different support channels.

I’m open to flexible hours and willing to learn new tools and processes. If anyone knows of any remote customer support openings, I would really appreciate any leads.

Thank you!

Can we target big 4 in UAE just with bachelors from India

Hey everyone,

I’m from India and recently started working as a junior accountant in the UAE. I only have a B.Com (bachelor in commerce) degree.

I was just wondering, is it actually possible to make it into the Big 4 in the UAE with just a bachelor’s degree from India?

Has anyone here done it or know someone who has?

Its my dream to work at Deloitte 😭

Thanks!

Looking for a part-time job or someone willing to teach me a skill (Al Nahda, Dubai)

Hey everyone,

I’m based in Al Nahda, Dubai and currently work full-time, but I’m free after 5 PM on weekdays and on weekends.

I don’t really want to spend my free time doing nothing. I’d rather learn something useful while earning a bit on the side.

I’m really into tech, so if anyone needs an extra hand at a PlayStation, laptop, mobile, or electronics repair shop, I’d be more than happy to learn from scratch. I’m also open to any other honest work, even if it’s not tech-related.

I’m not expecting a big salary—I just want to learn a skill, gain experience.

If you know anyone around Al Nahda or nearby who might need someone, please let me know or send me a DM.

US Corporate Tax → UAE Market?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to get some insights into the current UAE job market for tax professionals.

My brother has a B.Com degree and has been working with Ryan in Hyderabad since March 2023. He is currently a Senior Tax Associate specializing in US Corporate Tax and has around 3 years of experience.

However, he does not have any professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, EA, etc.

A few questions:
• How is the demand for tax professionals in the UAE currently?
• Would someone with US Corporate Tax experience be considered for UAE Corporate Tax or VAT roles?
• How much of a disadvantage is it to not have ACCA/CPA/CA?
• What salary range could someone with this profile realistically expect?

Would appreciate any honest feedback from people working in tax, accounting, or recruitment in the UAE.

Thank you.

got a reality check today

Just wanted to vent somewhere I feel understood.
Came to UAE on visit visa to find a job. Today went for a walk-in interview at a supermarket chain. There were around 58 candidates sitting there from 11am.

What I witnessed was something else.
Almost every staff member there was from Kerala from the sweeper to the HR. And every Kerala candidate was getting a reference from someone inside. I was so shocked to see them like they were just interested at hiring a malyali guy on the name of walkin

They were all done and gone within hours.
Those of us from Hyderabad, Nepal, Assam and other states? We sat there until 5:30pm. The HR barely looked at us, just took our CVs and said “we’ll call you.”

I’m not saying anything against anyone. Every community supports their own and I respect that.

But as a Hyderabadi sitting there alone with nobody to vouch for me it hit different.

Missed home today. Missed having someone from Hyderabad next to me

Moving to Dubai soon — seeking Junior Accountant opportunities

Hey everyone,
I’m moving to Dubai soon and actively looking for job opportunities as a Junior Accountant.

I have a commerce background and interest/experience in accounting-related work such as basic accounting, MIS reporting, and bookkeeping. I’m looking for an entry-level role where I can build my career in accounting and grow within the field.

I’m open to learning and adapting to company requirements and available to join as soon as possible.

If anyone knows about any vacancies or can refer me or guide me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Any help or leads would mean a lot.

Thanks in advance 🙏
