I had someone very kindly send me some of the seeds that he won in an eBay auction. There’s sprouts, it’ll be interesting to see how 60 year old tobacco seeds grow.

Update on the blown transmission: This is the Ranger’s home for a while. I’m picking a transmission up from marketplace today and ordered the parts and will begin the tear down this weekend.

I got a Luk clutch and flywheel, hydraulics kit, input and output shaft seal, rear main seal, also ordered brakes and a diff seal, and an oil pressure sensor cause my gauge dances sometimes.

The garden is fully set out now, my tobacco was the last thing to go out.

We’ve got tomatoes, potatoes and sweet potatoes, onions, turnips, pole beans, bell peppers, loofah, squash, cucumber, bottle and dipper gourds, okra, watermelon, broom corn, kandy corn, hickory cane corn, Indian corn, tobacco of course, burley, Virginia gold, and Virginia brightleaf. Then in some raised beds we have cabbage, lettuce, carrots, and strawberries.

Sunday’s best.

Vintage Knox hats boater, Darcy UK shirt, Oxford collar co collar, vintage RL tie, the suit is Arthur M Rosenberg and likely from the 60’s, but was made in an earlier style. My boots are Kennth Cole, and the belt is thrifted.

6 months review of my Wolverine 1000 mile boots.

I bought these 6 months ago in like new shape and with the box off eBay. They have been my daily wearers/work boots and I am very well pleased with them. I shoe horses in them 5 days a week, garden, mow, I’ve hiked in them, rode horses in them, dug fence posts, this, that, and the other. These are a TOUGH boot. Just about as close as you can get to a vintage boot in quality and silhouette, which is exactly what I wanted. The insoles are still in great shape, and the soles are still pretty well good, I really don’t have any negatives about these in all honesty, they’re more comfortable than a pair of tennis shoes and have molded to my foot perfectly. I’d highly recommend these to anyone looking for a somewhat affordable USA made, vintage style boot, even the laces are made in USA! And before I see any comments about them needing cleaned, I saddle soap to clean and mink oil on a monthly basis, they just get worked in.
