Chiikawa hoodie I was commissioned to make

Hope this fits the subreddit.

Someone reached out to me and asked if id make them a Chiikawa hoodie. They're requests were pretty minimal although I'd never heard of Chiikawa before they reached out so hopefully I did the little guy justice. It was a bit of a crash course. Let me know what you think.

Cheers

What do you think of the external layering here?

Not so much the patches, but specifically the thin, distressed layer of fabric that extends down along the zipper & around the back. Its sewn to the main hoodie via the zipper and around the hood. It look feminine, masculine, androgynous? Messy or intentional? Silly or avant-garde? What are you thoughts in general? For context, I made it. Any feedback welcome cheers 🙏

Upcycled shirts I made from other shirts

Shirts are cool, but a shirt made of 3 shirts is cool³.

@saintyams is the ig if youd like to see more.

Cheers 🙏

Anorak I made from old canvas work pants

Pretty minimalist design as for the stuff I usually do so might add more pockets or patches but its done for now at least. Two large zippers on either side for easy on/off with a super deep hood.

Let me know what you think 🙏

Anorak I made from old canvas work pants

The last picture I think really shows how the legs were incorporated into the body. Large zippers on either side for easy on off. I might add more more pockets.

Shirts made of other shirts

Its something ive been doing for the last year or two. Admittedly ive used up all my old shirts and have begun stealing them from siblings. Textile waste is suffocating much of our planet so if youve got old shirts and a bit of time, its a pretty cool way to reduce, reuse & recycle.

Some pieces a friend & I made entirely from repurposed materials

Would you rock these? Cut, sewn, patched & printed by us. The time it takes us to make these has been steadily decreasing so hopefully that means we're getting better at it. Cheers

I reworked a Nike backpack

Added

• custom screenprinted patches

• embroidered patches

• hand sewn stitchwork

• wrapped the straps in twill tape

• metal studs around the perimeter

• MOLLE straps

• and a cobra buckle to secure the secondary front pocket

Whatcha think? Too crust or not crust enough? Cheers
