Rough clip of me trying to sing Where Do Broken Hearts Go? by Whitney Houston in a softer acoustic style - Beginner female singer seeking tips to improve

https://voca.ro/1k1LLqISXnST I could never match the skill and natural gifts of the great Whitney Houston so I tried to dial down this beautiful song and bring it a little closer to something I could try to attempt as a singer. I am a beginner and am looking for tips on how to improve. Thank you

I am not a natural singer but have been trying to teach myself. I’ve been told I’ll never become good because of this and that I started too late in life as well so I’m very torn as to what I should do. I feel lost.

https://voca.ro/1l7yZXMXosraFirstly I am a self taught beginner. I am not a seasoned pro by any means. Secondly this song is actually an Ai song that someone posted on YouTube that is supposed to sound like Billie Eilish but she never actually sung this song. I couldn’t find a karaoke track for it for this reason so I had to try to sing along with the original and there are also no lyrics posted so I am definitely still trying to learn them by ear. This is very rough but someone close to me said that this style does not fit me. They said that this style is outside my comfort zone and therefore is not so good for me. I usually sing much lower. I’m curious what you think. Also please forgive my microphone delay echo sound. I’m getting a new microphone today to fix this. Thank you 🙏

Beginner’s attempt at Hey Now by London Grammar - Very Rough - Feedback Needed

https://voca.ro/1oSt8peJUpTqBe warned - This is an extremely rough beginner’s first attempt at Hey Now by London Grammar. I’m still learning to transition without fear. Does this sound completely silly or does the song fit me? I‘m using a Walmart karaoke microphone, which introduces a noticeable delay and echo. I’m sorry for this.

Beginner Female Singer Rough Attempt at The Door By Teddy Swims

https://voca.ro/16IRk8xRhrtg Trying out a faster, more rhythmic soul track this time. I love the pace of this song, but I'm working on keeping my jaw relaxed and keeping the sound out of my nose when the tempo speeds up. Thoughts on my rhythm and tone here? Apologies for my mic, it has an odd echo/delay sound. I’ve ordered a new mic that should be here soon. I know that this clip is far from perfect and there are a lot of things for me to work on. I appreciate your feedback.

Me singing into my iPhone with backing track - Beginner singer and very hard of hearing - This is Heart’s All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to you

This is just me singing into my iPhone with a backing track playing and no external mic.     https://voca.ro/1jGAyWqSGzzQ  Because I can’t hear myself I trail a bit behind the beat and push unnecessarily because my volume isn’t quite recognized by my brain. It’s very hard for me to do this with just muscle memory to guide me instead of my ears. It’s like walking but you can’t see. My tone is a bit off and my notes aren’t quite right. It is frustrating to be so hard of hearing. My husband surprised me with a new mic setup with headphones today so I can actually hear and that is such a blessing. Very sweet of him too. So hopefully now future recordings will be better. This next one is a recording of me singing the same song but I am using a Walmart Karaoke Mic which creates a strange echo but it makes my singing a little more precise because I can actually hear it. In turn it also squashes the sound though. I’ve used it to learn up till now but really needed to upgrade to something that had a better more authentic sound quality so thanks to the hubby for this. I hope this post helps people who struggle with being hard of hearing that want to learn to sing too. I’m still very much a beginner but there are work arounds that can help us to try and bury the word “impossible”. This is the ugly little mic that helped me learn to sing in action. https://voca.ro/1mHIniopbMQD  I actually love my ugly mic. It helped me get this far. It’s okay to not be perfect. The world needs more raw human art, not Ai. Perfection in art is often misunderstood because true beauty is in what is genuine and what is genuine is flawed.

Rough beginner’s attempt at “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You” by Heart - Your feedback and tips can help me to improve. Thank you!

https://voca.ro/1mHIniopbMQD This is a rough crack at a huge song. I’m just a self taught beginner so this is far from a perfect performance. I don’t have Ann Wilson’s gorgeous high soprano rock voice at all so I’m just trying to sing it the way I feel is best for my voice, nothing fancy. Does this song fit my voice and does this rough attempt have any good in it? I welcome your thoughts, constructive criticism, and tips. Thank you for helping me to try to improve. I’m using a Walmart microphone so I apologize for the echo/delay sound. I do catch a lot of heat for that and will upgrade to something more natural sounding as soon as I’m able. There is no Ai or pitch correction going on here either. I just like to state that because of the sound of the mic.
