This is not close for me at all. I think both Sooty and Pingu piss on Rainbow from a great height, but Sooty is still head and shoulders above Pingu (as great as he is noot noot!), and it's all cos of Sweep! I absolutely adore Sweep, he's my fave puppet ever

I feel like there's a reason Sooty and Pingu have been rebooted since I was born in the late 90s, they're just that good that they stand the test of time. On the other hand my generation has never had a Rainbow reboot, but I'm not surprised. On its own its decent, and I guess George is the best character (Zippy is just a dick and Bungle is creepy) but Rainbow and its characters are nothing compared to Sooty and Pingu. I feel like they tried to copy Sooty with the human man and puppets but it just doesn't work as well, and never has. Rainbow also isn't funny like the other 2

Sorry if anyone else has posted this, its been ages since i was last on this sub!

But I can't shake the feeling its Priya. It sounds bonkers especially if she's the pregnant lady too but i even had a dream that it was her. This dream was ages ago, and it didn't make sense to me at the time but now it does. I think Priya (the only other one I can see is Lily) bashed Joel's head in, and i can see the guilt, fear of being found out by the police, and shame of that as well as Jean finding out about her and Max (even though she dumped him now) being enough to make her flee the square. It's possible Max will harass her for dumping him which gives her another reason to leave, to get away from him. This will leave Ravi a single dad to their kids, but none of them know where she's gone, all they know is one day she just vanished

We the viewers know she left the square but no one else does. One day she just stops turning up to work, and Lauren is wondering why. Meanwhile Jean doesn't know what to do with what she knows. She decides to visit Lauren at the car lot, and maybe she mentions she needs to talk to her about Priya. Lauren misreads why at first, and innocently asks Jean if she's seen her or something. Jean gets in a flap and starts thinking Max has killed Priya. Lauren doesn't get why Jean thinks Max would be involved. Then Jean tells Lauren that they were having a affair. Jean has also planted the idea Max killed Priya in Lauren's head. Who walks in the car lot while Jean is telling Lauren what she knows and what she thinks? Ravi of course. We have seen Ravi visit the car lot before looking for answers, so this is not as far fetched as it seems

Ravi hears everything. And if he's the gunman, thinking Max killed the woman he loves and mum of his kids is the perfect motive to do it. He wants to hurt Max as much as Max has hurt him and his and Priya's kids. Ravi thinks killing Max would be too easy, Ravi wants him to suffer like he is. And he knows kidnapping Lauren and Oscar is exactly how he can do that

Anyway thanks to what everyone thinks, Max once again becomes the most hated man in the square. Maybe Ian will feel sorry for him cos of his own drama this year, and he will be the only one who backs Max (so Max thanks him by making him best man) Maybe Max also tries to prove he's not a monster by saving his grandkids. For his family though, it's not enough, they all still hate him. Priya returns to the square on Christmas day pregnant, and lands on Max's doorstep. She doesn't let anyone know she's back except Max. Cos she might be having his baby, Max lets her stay. He tries to rekindle things but Priya is adamant they are still over

There is a reason Priya sneaked back to the square with only Max knowing, and on New year's day (Max's wedding day) we find out exactly why. She sprags on him to the police cos she doesn't like him, she wants revenge for his harassment, and also to throw police off scent that she is Joel's attacker. When the police burst into the bathroom, they're not shocked cos she's pregnant, they're shocked cos they thought she was dead. Priya being the victim would also explain why when Max is being questioned by police, they are saying things to him like "lover" "colleague" etc and also the reason Jack gets Max off so fast

Doesn't Lauren also say to Jack Max is not worth it and after everything he has done? What if she means he's not worth Jack trying to get him off and everything he's done means both his affair and his supposed murder of his lover?

My number one is easily Woolworths! Omg I loved that shop so much. I used to visit Woolies every weekend morning when i was a little girl, it meant a lot to me. I used to have Wooly and Worth soft toys and i was absolutely heartbroken as a kid when it shut down. Mine was always super busy so i never understood it, and nothing has come close since. I wish it would come back! The Nostalgia i have for that is something else

I think runner up for me is Blockbuster. It doesn't come close to Woolworths in my eyes (no shop does haha) but i did like going in there. Used to get second hand old DS games and DVDs super cheap when pre owned

I keep flip flopping on this haha. I used to think Kush was better looking, i remember having a schoolgirl crush on him when he first arrived and I said no man on EastEnders would ever be better looking than Kush. I always thought Ravi ran him close, though couldn't put my finger on why he didn't top Kush for me. Now I know why! It's his hair! I really don't like men with long hair. OK so me and my fiance were watching Virgin Island on channel 4 (we love that show!) and I started getting curious about who might be the oldest virgin on reddit. Somehow I stumbled across a bunch of posts of someone I found out is a regular on FA30plus. Being a naturally curious person curiosity got the better of me and so I lurked on there for a week or two, even though I'm only 27

Spend just 5 minutes there and you'll see exactly why I'm making this post. It's toxic, bitter, and depressing, but more than anything, the things I read in there are unhealthy and disturbing. Hope posts are shot down with members stuck in a "never" mindset, success stories are dismissed as fiction, and some are even discussing ending their lives. It's like they only allow self-hate in there and they absolutely resent anyone having success!

Well I'm an empathetic lass, so I decided to do something about it and I made a post yesterday as a good deed. Read it if you dare!

Even though my intention was just to be nice, the reaction I got was crazy severe. I didn't think I had said anything wrong, just went over how I'm unlucky in everything except having a fiance and how i made changes in my life to find someone. I ended my post with kind words and genuine help and advice. I had one person tell me about their deep despair and lack of desire to keep going. This made me feel uncomfortable. I also had a barrage of abuse hurled at me, with one person furious that i was good looking enough to have a partner and actually insulting both me and my man in a really upsetting and offensive way. They deliberately twisted my post to try and imply he was a total creep. I edited my post and the abusive comments were removed, but the whole experience was still jarring. I did have a convo with a 41-year-old man on the post which went well cos he seemed really nice, and someone else wished me and my fiancé well. But most of them accused my genuine kindness of being "rage bait"!

It's a joke that they basically just use that sub for self-hate and negativity. I suggested to moderators that they should try making a dating-style thread where members could safely get to know each other, but they totally ignored my idea

If I could describe that sub in just 3 words, it would be unhealthy as fuck. It doesn't matter what you say to them, they will not listen and they just carry on with a damaging mindset. So many of them think I'm a "normie" just cos I have a partner, completely ignoring everything else I said about myself. Their hive mind is so wrong, it feels like they all need professional help!

I really do wonder how they would cope with a partner, I feel like they'd still not be happy cos they would constantly worry about being dumped. I told them straight that real relationships have ups and downs, it's not rainbows and butterflies, and sometimes we have domestics. Thankfully I'm not alone, but even if my partner and I had never met, I know I would have never joined in on that negativity. Surely posting on the reg in a sub like that just makes people feel worse? It's a constant reminder of what you don't have

I just don't understand why these Forever Alone subs are still allowed (in their current form at least!) Is it really that bad that I suggested safely getting to know each other with sub dating? That sub is unhealthy, toxic, bitter, and depressing. I just can't get over what I've seen in there and I think I'm scarred for life

If there is ever gonna be a brand new Sooty TV show in future, I really hope they won't just name it Sooty like the last 2. I really think it should be named Sooty and Sweep. It rolls off the tongue perfectly! Fuck Soo! Her name shouldn't be in there. Hardly anyone likes her anyway, so take her out of it, or make her background only

Sweep makes that show what it is. Sweep is so cute and naughty, he reminds me of me and my fiancé's pet dog Lily! Love Sweep so much we bought a hand puppet toy of him. Lily is obsessed with him! The Richard Cadell Sooty shows are like sitcoms. But who do you think makes them so funny? Who do you think causes the mischief everyone loves? It's not Sooty, Soo, or Scampi. It's Sweep! He's absolutely great and he has a great double act with Sooty. I wish I could understand him though haha

Now for my Sooty opinion that I think will be really unpopular. Richard is the best Sooty presenter. I'm not being biased cos he has been the presenter since before I was born. I have seen earlier Sooty too. Cos i even remember at primary school a VHS tape being played of the Matthew Corbett version

Sooty Heights, Sooty 2001, and Sooty 2011 are all great and really funny. Richard doesn't deserve to always be compared to the Corbetts just cos he's not one. He deserves his own merit. He is great with the puppets, has good comic timing, and his personality is probably the one that works best with the puppets, he's not afraid to be as silly as them. It seemed like Matthew could be silly too, but also serious. I prefer Richard who doesn't do that as much. He also clearly cares a lot about the puppets and the shows

I'll get the ball rolling with: Thomas the Tank Engine/Thomas and Friends whatever you wanna call it and Fireman Sam

I fucking hate both these shows. I always have. I honestly think this is probably unpopular but i gotta get it out there. I just have no idea why a kid would like either of these shows. The worst offender is Thomas for me so i'll start with him. Thomas and Friends is super boring and seems slow with a terrible theme song. And it's creepy as fuck, I mean just imagine meeting that thing irl— a massive train with a dead, unblinking grey face staring into your soul. It's absolutely terrifying, i think i would shit myself if I saw it

For some weird reason i can't explain, according to wiki Thomas was shown on TV for like 40 years new and repeats! And then apparently it ended in 2021 and got rebooted to 2D. There is just no killing that show! Why ffs? What does a kid see in it?! Other long running shows like Sooty and Pingu are way better, yet they've took breaks over the years and decades before getting reboots again despite repeats

As for Fireman Sam, when i was a kid I loved Bob the Builder and Postman Pat, but I never ever got into Sam. It's better than Thomas but that's not saying much haha. Fireman Sam is boring and repetitive. I don't know why they kept rebooting it!

Also I used to love Peppa Pig when it first came out when I was 5 years old, but I feel like the show went to shit after the first 2 series cos when it got more popular and mainstream they started treating it like a cash cow and Peppa became absolutely unbearable

I also wanna say I never hated this show but as a kid I couldn't understand Dora the Explorer's popularity with other kids at all. Dora was literally everywhere when I was a kid and i just got fed up of seeing her. My grandma was always buying me Dora toys and DVDs as birthday and Christmas presents, but as a kid I just never got into Dora for some reason. I appreciate it more as a adult! And it's got a catchy theme song

If you didn't know this already, here's your fact of the day: Peppa Pig has been airing on TV since 2004! It's literally been 22 years since it made its debut

It's the only kids show I can think of that has never had to be rebooted for a modern audience cos it has never stopped airing since its debut. Bob the Builder, Pingu, Sooty, Bananas in Pyjamas, Teletubbies etc they have all had reboots over the years. But Peppa Pig looks exactly the same as it always did. Only thing that's changed over the years is Peppa's voice, i thought the original voice was the best one

I know that Jason used her as a Sarah rebound at first, and he didn't seem committed to her for ages. So you could say both of them were a bad choice. But when Jason finally got over Sarah and grew up, he decided he had a future with Becky and made a real effort to prove it, he did everything to win her back and he really did treat her like a princess after that. He proposed to her so romantically that most girls can only dream of it, he totally swept her off her feet

Steve on the other hand treated both Michelle and Becky like shit, and made broken promises to Becky, and he even gave her a shitty proposal that was totally unromantic and he only did it anyway cos Jason had already proposed. But that's OK cos he loves her. It's actually not ok at all. Steve's behaviour is so wrong

We're watching these eps right now. It's the day after both Becky's proposals and Steve is literally just sat outside Roy's Rolls watching her and that's what he spends his day doing til Lloyd forces him to go to Streetcars. Fuck me, it's so weird. He's just so out of character, he's acting like a creep and basically stalking her. This is despite the fact she originally chose Jason and said no to Steve's proposal. She made her choice but Steve refuses to accept and respect what she wants and basically won't take no for a answer. And in her list of pros and cons to Hayley, Jason even has more pros than Steve. Steve is basically Corrie's own Max Branning, women just fawn over him and I don't know why!

I just can't understand why she went Steve in the end when she could have Jason. I love all 3 characters (but not Steve in this storyline, he's awful!) and i guess maybe Steve makes her laugh whereas Jason isn't really funny at all which helps. But i mean wtf, besides that if I was in Becky's shoes it would be a no brainer choosing Jason!

I think this will be a really unpopular and maybe even weird opinion, but here it is

The way Yoshi is portrayed in the Super Mario World cartoon and the Super Mario Galaxy Movie is my fave portrayal of Yoshi, Yoshi is so cute and innocent looking that it makes most sense for him to be a baby/kid who's a bit naughty!

In the games, it's always been weird to me that he is meant to be older than Mario and Luigi, and along with other coloured Yoshis helped save them when they were babies in Island. Look at him, he's absolutely adorable and he's so innocent looking can you really buy him as being older than Mario and Luigi? I can't! What do you think?

I'm looking for serious advice and answers only please. And I know this is probably gonna be long but it's really important that someone reads it cos just don't know

We've been together since 2021, have a 3 year old Patterdale and we were gonna get married in October this year (the 5th anniversary of our first date) both of us are damaged people cos we've both been abused in the past

Our lives got so much better when we met though, and we have been happier than ever in our lives. We get on so well. I can honestly say though, this year has been the worst year for us the whole time we've been together. It's just been one bad thing after another this year, and to top it all off we're both fucking addicts and the year so far has been so horrible it has pushed our addictions to absolute breaking point

After March, we said if the year didn't improve in April, we would call off the wedding for this year. Things started to improve but our addictions have just totally ruined us mentally. So now we're faced with that decision again and honestly we just don't know what to do. My fiancé wants to email the vicar to cancel, but I keep wondering if it's the right thing. A few weeks ago I was getting excited for the first time this year about our wedding, but when I talked to him he started getting all stressed out saying he didn't wanna talk about or even think about our wedding. Now I feel like that too. I don't wanna book in for hair, makeup, and eyebrows. I don't wanna get my wedding dress, or his ring. Seriously at this moment in time the last thing I wanna do this year is walk down the aisle. Neither of us are mentally well atm at all, and I don't wanna be putting on a brave face on what's meant to be the happiest day of our life, I wanna be genuinely happy. And he wants his addiction to be over before he marries me

This morning we've been talking again about moving the wedding. My fiancé says he feels our relationship was so much better when we didn't have the wedding looming over us and I actually agree. As well as our addiction struggles (which I explain more in the next paragraph) we're both feeling serious pressure to gain (him) and lose (me) weight in time for the wedding. The pressure is just too much and i don't think it's helping at all. The wedding, the photographer, and the reception is all paid for. Everything is ready. The vicar knows about our addictions, he knows how serious they are, he knows atm we're not mentally OK. He would totally understand if we cancelled the wedding this year. No one would judge us for it. In fact his mum even said it's OK we should do it when we're ready. But my fiance says he feels bad cos we already moved it once (for unrelated reasons) last year to this year. He said he doesn't want his family to know about his addiction and made that perfectly clear although i did try to encourage him at first cos i believe in being honest. He says he doesn't feel comfortable telling them

My fiance is a porn addict, and I have a eating disorder/overeater whatever you wanna call it (i turn to food for comfort) both of us have had this addiction on and off for years but this year is the worst ever, we relapse whenever we fall out most times (our domestics have got really nasty at times) and both of us have relapsed so many times this year cos of the year that we lost count how many times, and weekends are especially hard atm. Lately we just seem to fall out every weekend, some weekends it's me who causes it, some weekends it's him. I'm not playing the blame game, we're both in the wrong. And we try to be understanding of each other cos we're both addicts, but it's just really hard cos neither of us are mentally good atm

In general I'm a optimistic and bubbly person and I'm naturally more happy than he is. So even though when I'm low I'm really depressed it doesn't last long, I can bounce back way faster than he can. He can stay in a depressive slump for ages. I can also express my emotions easily. He is a Eeyore, he's really moody and quick tempered and he struggles to cry and open up. I've thought about maybe joining a group for eating disorders, but tbh I'd say my own addiction is easy for me to manage in the week, cos I have a routine I follow in the week and I don't have the food I eat on a weekend as a treat during the week. Weekends are a serious challenge for me though. For him every single day is a challenge. He is in a group for fellow addicts and he tracks his progress every day

What should we do? Cos seriously I do think we'd be happier not getting married this year at least but I don't know if we would regret it. He says we shouldn't get married for a few years, or maybe even at all. I think I've always been more keen on the idea anyway

Wanna get a debate going about Jason Grimshaw's best relationship! Jason is one of my fave male characters along with Peter Barlow (but everyone knows who Peter's true love is!)

Just to rule out his other exes first so people don't ask: I'm not counting Sarah even though he married her cos both weddings were a shitshow (even though they got married the second time), their relationship was super toxic cos they were always dumping each other and Sarah treated him like shit and he didn't even love her at first he actually wanted Violet back, and the writers only bigged them up cos they were together in real life. Also skipping Becky (she was a rebound mainly who he treated like shit), Rosie (way too self-absorbed), Stella (messy cougar fling and Eva's mum), and Tina or Maria (both seemed forced and anyway always ruined by outside drama from Joe, Graeme, Tyrone and Marcus)

For me, his only real, proper relationships where the chemistry actually worked and felt genuine and never forced were Violet and Eva, so let's leave it to these two!

Violet: His first proper serious love. She actually made him grow up and want to be a better man, and they were brilliant together before the writers ruined their relationship with Charlie and Sarah. Jason was so committed to her Violet cheated first! Cheating was super out of character for Violet though. Then they finished her off with the Sean baby storyline. These two had great chemistry (way better than Jamie and Violet) and it was love at first sight. Sarah was second best to her, he only got with Sarah cos Violet wouldn't have him back

Eva: The one he actually called "the one" after she dumped him! These two were great and genuinely loved each other too, they were also cut from the same cloth cos both a bit dumb and always getting cheated on. My fave Eva relationship for sure. If it hadn't been for his jealousy, i could have imagined Jason and Eva being together forever. Eva would never have cheated on Jason, especially with his dad like he thought! Even though irl i don't think Violet would have cheated on him either

Looking back, who do you reckon was his absolute best match and why? Team Violet or Team Eva? I'm actually torn!
