How's life with Cystofix (suprapubic catheter)?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to connect with anyone here who lives with a Cystofix (suprapubic catheter). I'm writing this with some help of AI to preserve energy.

I'm currently looking into getting one, and while the doctors give you the official medical spiel, I want to know what it’s actually like to live with on a day-to-day basis from a disabled perspective.

Specifically, I’d love to hear your honest experiences with:

  • Leakage and bypass: How often does it actually leak around the site or down below? How do you manage it?
  • Bladder spasms: Did getting the catheter trigger severe cramping or spasms for you?
  • Blockages & maintenance: How often do you deal with sediment, mucus, or blockages? If you have personal assistants/carers, do they manage your flushes and routine changes?
  • Comfort and positioning: How does it feel while sitting in a wheelchair for long periods? Does the tubing get in the way of transfers?

Please give me all the raw truths—especially the potential troubles, annoying quirks, or hidden life-savers that the hospitals don't always tell you about beforehand.

Thanks so much in advance!

Is this build easy and can I make it quiet?

1080p 60fps gamer who's into jrpgs like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Budget 1000-1500 USD.

First time builder. This caught my eye. To my untrained eye it looked easy, am I right? That power supply looks sketchy though and the fan seems to go right up to the frame, so I'm thinking it might not be that quiet? I don't like noisy computers. Can I do this build quieter, what cooler and psu should I use to achieve that? What kind of gpu do I actually need, I'm never gonna go 1440p or higher refresh rate. I will do screen recording simultaneously. Recommendation for parts or even completely different builds of this size and my performance requirements much appreciated.

please go easy on me, I'm new to pc building.

How's life with Cystofix (suprapubic catheter)?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to connect with anyone here who has a neuromuscular condition like Muscular Dystrophy or Multiple Sclerosis and lives with a Cystofix (suprapubic catheter). I'm writing this with some help of AI to preserve energy.

Are there ACTUALLY any Steam Machine equivalents?

A lot of Youtubers riding on the wave saying Build Your Own Steam Machine and missing the two main points of a device like this 1) a pre-built that works out of the box 2) a really sleek form factor and quiet operation. I've got a really hard time finding anything similar on the market. I'd love to get a SM but they aren't easily available right now and I'm searching for an alternative. 1080p 60fps high in Cyberpunk 2077 is my benchmark goal.

Old mom gets upset when I point out something is AI or might be untrue online, AITAH for not just letting her be

Should I just say "oh, that's interesting" when she shows me these stuff, at least sometimes just to not sadden her? I might be too stubborn about this sometime. I'm a bit OCD about what is true and what is not, I'm having a hard time saying white lies in general. My education is in journalism but I haven't really had any real career in this area, just some freelance work here and there and often commentary articles rather than any investigative work. Dunno, maybe I'm trying to prove something here and being insensitive in the process. And she doesn't really share anything or so, so the potential damage to the community is zero. At the same time I don't want random people to fool my mom everyday online, I don't like that either. But she takes it personally, maybe it's hurtful to accept that you've been fooled. I try to not say anything once in a while but it's hard. I feel it's disrespectful treating her as she's stupid also because she has a lifelong interest in following current affairs and have lots of interesting things to say. That's why I got into journalism in the first place
