Who would have taken our recycling bin and why

We are in north Stamford and have no close neighbors. It’s just such a confusing act . Why would someone take our recycling bin? We go out to get it around 8 am on recycling day last week and it was gone. Puzzled

High bHCG

Is high bhcg correlated with anything (good, bad or neutral)? Or is it just pass/fail? I’m 9dp5dt and first beta is at 680. It’s not in line with what I was prepared to expect but just curious!

When did you tell your parents?

First positive 4dp5dt. I know it’s too early to get ahead of myself like this betas not til Monday . I’m curious how early everyone told their immediate family? My parents did IVF as well and I had kept them somewhat in the loop/they are aware a transfer was going to happen around this time. It feels weird to say nothing.

Sick before FET success story

Or do I cancel? It’s not Covid or flu, but overnight I came down with a head cold- sore throat congestion no sleep last night. I have my first FET scheduled tomorrow. I understand if I have to cancel due to safety of healthcare workers or reduced success rate and already put a note into my doctor . Has anyone been through this? Looking for happy stories

Update for anyone searching sick at FET: I have a positive 4dp5dt!

Estate auctioneers/liquidators mount vernon

can anyone help recommend an estate liquidator or estate auction firm that services mount vernon? furniture and Dec objects mostly, but not of enormous value. a lot of clutter in the house as well. clearing house was not interested, for lower price point reference.

Newest member of the family, Indiana Jones

14 weeks- she’s half sweetheart half psycho. incredibly smart and athletic. Jumped in the pool and swam to the edge on her first day here. we were worried something was wrong with her because she doesn’t bark. finally heard her bark last night when we were watching the norwich terriers on best in show. her favorite snack is paperwork

Moved into a beige house

It’s brought me great joy to bring more and more color into every room over the last few months. I’m wondering if it’s worth painting the built ins in my office, or as a DIYer am I signing myself up for hours upon hours of tedious labor?. I did stripes in our guest room today and was so happy with how they came out but boy did they take some time lol

I don’t like big rocks

but I do love that this is *by far* the least toxic engagement ring subreddit. Just because they’re not for me, doesn’t mean I can’t love them for you all. and all the more for the positive energy you guys bring 👏 keep it up, that is all lol

Graduated!

God married this May!

250 guests in NY, mostly family and lots of children.

Sharing a disproportionate amount of photos of florals because our florist (ephemera!) was such a joy to work with.

My husband and his best man built our arbor and our florist was incredibly chill about our constantly changing design and install plan. they broke everything down and did a bouquet to go cart as party favors.

Our ceremony was a catholic mass, but still short and sweet! we had strings for ceremony and cocktail and band for dinner and dancing

our dance classes were so much fun, any CT brides must go to Marko at Fred Astaire New Canaan (and Sukran bridal for alterations!)

and photos by Jenny Fu! She was great, I’m very awkward at taking photos and she made us so comfortable lol

Can you add my father in law to our family photo?

father in law was MIA during the group family picture. Would it be possible to add him to the larger picture? Preferably somewhere near the groom and his mother? Groom and FIL pictured in second photo will pay $50

I’m so afraid to start transfers

We spent the last year doing 7 retrievals/PGTSR testing. We had multiple rounds yield no euploid or balanced embryos and although it was devastating/hard to cope with, we kept on trucking because worst case scenario didn’t involve subtracting from our total

i want to move forward with FET and get our life started but after all the work it took to get to this point I’m so afraid of the loss. I don’t know how I could handle it.

I guess I’m looking for words of encouragement or advice (I don’t know anything about my FER protocol yet or what tests will be recommended). I have no known issues other than balanced translocation and DOR, but then again I had no known issues at all when we decided to freeze embryos in the first place.

Gift for priest/officiant

I’m wondering what/if people are gifting officiants, particularly if they are priests?

some context:

-he is traveling in for the wedding (his travel is covered)

- he is a family friend and will be officiating the wedding at our venue (not in a church). it will be a mass, and a wedding but not the sacrament of marriage per se

-he is not associated with a parish, but runs a large nonprofit

- he is a Jesuit, so I’m not sure if cash would be super appropriat. what we gift would be communal property. I see online that people gift the priest or parish cash, but I’m not so sure here

- my parents have made a contribution to a nonprofit he runs, but we would like to gift him something as well. we can gift to the nonprofit as well but an amount that is generous for us, will be a drop in the bucket compared to what my parents are gifting

- nice wine is the only things that comes to mind. I’m not sure if anyone has other ideas?

Underwear for sheer dress?

hi! I have this dress as second look. I wasn’t planning on having a second look but our first dance choreo has kind of become over the top and it was not going to be possible in my main dress. I didn’t want a short or more casual dress, so bought this on still white. and I really love it it goes so well with our design. but everything is relatively last minute as I’m getting married at the end of the month lol.

thankfully, It fits like a glove but I don’t know what to do about underwear as it is pretty sheer. I had it lined to be more opaque but really did not like how it turned out so we went back to the original blush organza lining. it seems from google a lot of brides opted for more opaque white lining, but I love the contrast between the blush and the flowers

I dont need any support up top, but wondering what people wear under more sheer dresses? Nude seamless thong or something with more coverage?

my father in law is recovering from a traumatic brain injury at a subacute rehab facility. he was just transferred there from an acute rehab facility where he was doing very well with 3 hours of therapy a day, steadily improving and definitely not plateaued.

hes now in subacute facility where the therapy is 1.5 hours a day (.5 hour pt, .5 hour o, .5 hour speech) and progress has really slowed. they also don’t allow family members to attend therapy, which was encouraged at the acute rehab hospital. we felt it was helpful to attend every now and then since he will need extensive physical support once he is discharged home .

im wondering if anyone here has advice on any options to supplement his care- do care homes generally respond well to requests to private pay supplemental care while staying at the home? is it a normal policy to not allow family members at therapy sessions?

thanks so much in advance. we’re all new here. I’m not sure if there is a better subreddit to post this in?
