10 Years, 5 Months, and 14 Days Later, I FINALLY Got the Watch Hours

Today marks 10 years, 5 months, and 14 days since I started my YouTube channel.

After uploading 1,080 videos over that time, I finally reached the point where I could apply for monetization.

What's crazy is that most of the progress happened in the last two months. My videos started gaining traction and I've accumulated just under 16,000 total watch hours, with around 4,700 of those being valid long-form watch hours for the Partner Program.

I submitted my monetization application 5 days ago, currently step 2 is "in progress" and now YouTube Studio is showing an "Estimated Earnings" section, even though I haven't been approved yet.

For those who have been through the process, is that generally a positive sign, or is it normal for everyone during the review period?

I'm honestly just excited. After a decade of uploading, seeing the channel finally reach this stage feels surreal.

DON'T GIVE UP TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN TRYING WITHOUT SUCCESS.

Is the line H2C Dead?

I ask because I see there is little to no demand the H2 anymore and it seems Kawasaki aren't making many updates and the bike came to market in 2015.maybe this is Kawasaki's Hayabusa and in 30 years, it will look the same.

BIBS Kunming - Offer Seems LOW

Just got offered a job at for a subject teaching position as a native speaker, and the offer is 280,000 RMB gross per year. Honestly, it feels kinda low to me, but this would be my first time working in China so I genuinely have no idea what’s considered normal there.

Does anyone here have experience teaching in China and know roughly what the take-home pay would be after tax? Also, is this considered a decent offer for an international school, or am I right to feel a bit underwhelmed?

If you’re sitting there thinking about quitting YouTube, I completely get it.

I uploaded for almost 4 years. Nearly 1000 videos. Most of them got like 5 views… sometimes even less. It honestly felt pointless a lot of the time.

Then around April 13th/14th, something randomly changed. A few of my videos started moving, then more followed. Since then I’ve had over 1.1 million views and gained 361 subscribers.

I’m still nowhere near where I want to be. I’ve only got 61 watch hours, so I’m not suddenly “successful” or anything. But after years of uploading into silence, even that small breakthrough meant a lot to me.

I think sometimes YouTube just takes way longer than people expect. So if you’re struggling right now, maybe don’t look at the whole mountain. Just focus on getting through today’s upload, then tomorrow’s.

Your moment might be a lot closer than you think.

Hey,

I’m working on a self funded musical theatre show and need help making 7 AI songs. I’ve already got all the lyrics done.

I tried using Suno, but it only really gives me one singer, and I need two separate voices plus an ensemble vibe.

If anyone knows how to do this or can help out, I’d really appreciate it. I’m funding everything myself, so budget’s tight, but I can cover a one-month Suni subscription (around $10).
