What are your favorite workout classes in SF?

Posted last night about being a beginner who hates working out but seriously needs to, but it wasn’t specific enough to SF so it got removed.

I got some interesting comments about reformer pilates and I did not know about this workout style at all 💀

So that got me curious - what workout classes are y’all going to and where?

I’ve previously been to a HIIT class that turned me into roadkill for 3 days because I couldnt move, so I’m looking for inspiration for workouts I might actually enjoy.

Bonus points if the class has other beginners + has a community vibe! More points if it’s in Civic Center / FiDi area.

How did you begin your fitness journey?

I want to start taking fitness seriously, especially now that I’m in my 30s and in the worst shape of my life.

I’ve always hated working out because I find it hard to stick to it beyond a few months (the muscle soreness after a “good” workout is an incredibly unpleasant experience for me) and now I’m getting a bit overwhelmed by decision fatigue on how to get started.

I’m good on cardio but totally at a loss for strength training.

How did you begin your fitness journey? What kept you going? How do I start strength training? What kind of workouts should I even do as a beginner?

I have access to a decent gym in my apartment + at work. Also willing to pay for classes, personal trainers and such if they arent prohibitively expensive (<$100/session).

I’d ideally like to be able to work out at home for the most part and supplement with classes/PT.

Do I have any hope of separating these plants without killing any?

3 years ago I bought a monstera for the first time and it was a scrawny thing with 3 tiny leaves.

I repotted it into a 12in pot and discovered that it was 3 plants but at the time I didnt really know what I was doing so I didn’t separate them.

It got bigger, like 1-2 leaves a year (between all 3) but each individual plant seemed to only have 2-3 leaves in total so I repotted all of them as is into this big one since it seemed fuller that way.

Well, these plants went crazy 😭 in the past 2 months, they grew 7 leaves, each bigger than the last. And I can already see 3 new ones poking their heads out.

Is there any way I can separate these plants without killing one of them? All of them are flourishing but their roots are hella tangled. Pretty bad. They were root bound in the old pot.

P.s I live in a small apartment and cannot hose down the roots like I’ve seen suggested on some other threads.

Fiance sent a pre-wedding email to guests that just ruined my mood

I’m removing the contents of the post because I’m being DM’d a lot of hateful messages. Reddit is doing its thing I guess.

Makeup by Mario Cream eyeshadows

I’m likely extremely late to the party but oh my god I cannot stop screaming internally about how incredible these eyeshadows are.

They blend like a dream with minimal effort and I was able to create this eyeshadow look in literally 10 minutes because of how easily the base shades came together. They also do not budge once dried down, which is FANTASTIC for applying near the lower lashes (and for me, they also stop the eyeliner in my waterline from smudging everywhere).

My only concern is that they might dry out in the tube quickly, but for now I’m using them everyday.

Ignore my insane eyebrows - they are due for a cleanup haha

Products used:
- base: MbM Master Mattes Cream Eyeshadow in shades Sienna and Taupe
- glitter: Gold Favor from the Outer Spice palette by Morphe
- Inglot black gel eyeliner
- Tarte tubing mascara

Seatbelt fit as a short, fat woman. It’s resting on my face.

I can’t remember a time where the seat belt fit me like it was supposed to. I’m 5’1 with a larger chest and the belt always ends up resting uncomfortably on my neck.

Sometimes, the front seats have the height toggle thing that makes it slightly better. Better as in the belt doesn’t slice my neck quite so high.

Should be extremely infuriating, but this doesn’t even phase me anymore. Cases like this where the belt is literally on my face just cause mild annoyance.

Edit: In case I wasn’t clear enough, I am aware of the height adjustment mechanism and this belt did not have it. Only the front seats of the car had it. I’m in the back seat of a cab.

Another edit: This is a Honda CRV hybrid. While I wish I could say that I’ve never had a seatbelt rest on my face, it’s not unusual. It’s usually just my neck, but in a lot of cars it ends up closer to my face if I’m not sitting completely upright the whole time.

I don’t own a car, so I haven’t invested in booster seats and such. I don’t want to have to lug a whole safety operation around whenever I ride a cab.

Final edit: smh those of y’all commenting obvious shit need to learn how to read.

This is Big Fat Moosh. Big Fat Moosh constantly screams for treats near the treat cabinet. He also pees on the bed if you don’t give him enough attention during the day. Roast the Moosh.

Does this look tacky?

First time ever trying my hand at making jewelry and made this bracelet with sew-on rhinestones, jump rings, and pearl pendants.

Wondering if it looks cheap or tacky. I plan to wear it with indian clothes.

I’m getting married in 2 months and i’m trying to find the best eye look to match my two outfits (one is black, one is rust orange).

Pic 2 is from the makeup trial, and the rest are DIY.

For context, I’m Indian and typical indian wedding makeup is full glam. I’m opting for “soft glam” for the base, but I want my eyes to pop and I feel like my eyes aren’t doing that in the trial makeup.

I want to add more drama and some glitter and have been experimenting with different looks at home to find the best fit and have my MUA recreate it.

Would love any feedback or recommendations on what works and what doesn’t. Would also love some recs for glitter eyeshadow palettes.

P.s I’m not wearing falsies in most DIY looks but will add that on the day. My eyebrows are also a mess so pls ignore that.

Products:
- colorpop “Bare Necessities” palette (pic 1 and 4)
- Patrick Ta major dimension III palette (pic 5)
- Tarte palette Amazonian Clay (pic 3)
- inglot gel eyeliner with duraline (pic 1, 4, 5)
- danessa myricks colorfix foil “milkyway” (pic 5)
- tarte tubing mascara
