Why Doom is such a scary villain for non-comic readers

Why Doom is such a scary villain for non-comic readers

Ever since the trailer dropped, I’ve been seeing A LOT of people asking why Doom is so dangerous

He’s second best in a lot of categories

1: Engineering

Tony Stark is the best engineer in the marvel universe. Doom is a very close second. He’s first if you include magical and technological feats

He’s built time machines before, gateways to hell, he used a machine to siphon the abilities of the Siver Surfer, made an insane amount of doombots

He created a machine that used the Purple Man’s abilities, using pheromones to mind control people, to amplify his ability and mind control the entire world to stop hurting each other

He also found out that vibranium has a magic amplifier effect for mystical armors and weapons.

2: Sorcery

He’s been Sorcerer Supreme once. He annually used to seige Hell for his mother’s soul

He also killed the beyonders by using a bunch of molecule men and took their power. Secret Wars Doom is basically supercharged using the equivalent of TVA Loki in the MCU

3. Sovereignty

He has full diplomatic immunity and the gdp of a country.

Think like this. Doom can do whatever he wants in his own country. He could test any weapon or conduct any experiment since it’s his own country. This doesn’t include the fact no one wants to mess with latveria. Doom is very petty. He will give you hell if you mess with him

Messing with Doom is suicide as a foreign nation. If you get into a war with him. He has an entire army of robots ready to strike at any moment. This causes the US and other governments to sign non aggression agreements with Latveria.

The US government will straight up tell you as a hero to leave Doom alone

4. Prep Time

Dude has better than Batman level prep time shenanigans. He consistently steals peoples powers that he shouldn’t be able to. Hes stolennTVA Loki level powers multiple times. He’s basically villain Batman with insane magic ability with some of the insane plans he does

Oh you thought you beat doom? Nope here he comes with a BS machine that completely neutralizes your ability

5. Intelligence

He’s arguably scientifically smarter than Reed. He also uses heroes in his schemes a lot too. His problem is that he has a massive ego which causes him to fail. Reed isn’t scared to be wrong, doom is.

6. He can be technically right

Doom will do anything to do what he feels is right. He does very immoral things for the betterment of the world. Which is why he’s so dangerous

Doom could be the greatest hero of the marvel universe. He’s held back by vanity, egoism and his hatred for Reed

In the Emperor Doom comic again, he mind controls the population to stop their wars, fighting, etc. It is a utopia if you ignore the way he did it

When the heroes beat him, they were questioning if they did the right thing. That’s why doom is such a great villain

If Doom had the infinity stones, he wouldn’t kill half the population. He’d get rid of the idea of fighting over resources. It may be morally wrong to get rid of free will, but it does make the world or universe in this case better to live in

Ignore any grammar mistakes or just general mistakes, I’m writing off the dome and high 😂

DOOM bows to no one, not even kryptonians

Richard Brake as Norman Osborn

Holland is around 30 so Harry should be around 30 as well. So Norman should be 20 to 30 years older than Harry.

Looking at actors around that age, I think Brake would do Norman the best. He’s fantastic as a villain. He also does assholes very well. I think he’d kill it as Norman

I know and don’t care that he was in Thor: The Dark World. No one remembers he’s in it.

Ella Purnell as Jessica Drew

When looking for a role for Ella, I kind of struggled honestly

Until I remembered Jessica is British. Ella can do action roles very well. She’s also just a great actress that would do her well in live action

Chloë Grace Moretz as Gwen Stacy

She’s only a year younger than Tom Holland. I doubt we get Gwen but if we would I think Chloe would kill it

What Non-Marvel character do you think would make a great X-Men Villain

Lex Luthor would HATTEEE Mutants

Lex already can’t stand Clark who is the personification of a good hearted human. Imagine if he saw someone like Magneto or Mr. Sinister straight up attack humans. Then see them call themselves a superior race because of their powers. He’d make so many purple and green Sentinels that would make Trask’s look like Child’s play.

Isn’t Gunn doing what DC fans want?

They didn’t want these obscure shows and now he’s shelving them

They are asking for the trinity and he’s already fast tracking Wonder Woman. Batman is getting held up because of The Batman. I don’t blame him for Reeves taking a long ass time when part 2 should’ve been released in 2025

People are talking about budgets

Yet, People are hating on jimmy olsen when it won’t cost DC very much to make at all. An Amazonian show or Waller would cost way more to make. This is also why I doubt booster gold is happening either

They’ve already course corrected

The only project I dislike that they’re currently in active development is Bane and Deathstroke but if it’s practical it can be cheap to make so I understand his thought process based on ROI. It’s why I think Clayface was a good idea

He’s doing already what people who complain want, yet I have to see people complaining when he’s doing what they want anyway

Why do people hate The Batman’s 3rd Act?

I always get confused with the discourse for this specific act. I always hear how it’s sucks compared to the rest of the movie. I get confused with this personally.

Bruce’s arc in this movie is to become more than Vengance which I think all of us know.

He doesn’t complete the arc into being a hero until he saves the people out of the waters. The whole visual of him falling into the waters is a metaphor of a baptism into becoming more than vengeance. Becoming a hero, Batman. He literally says after this scene that he needs to be more than what he is. This realization doesn’t happen without him seeing the hope he provided into the people of Gotham after saving them.

The movie literally starts with a civilian being terrified of him after beating the gang. The last scene? A civilian is terrified to LEAVE Batman

If the movie ends with him catching the riddler before the walls explode wouldn’t that support his idealogy that fear is what he should be. Isn’t Batman supposed to be more than a vigilante? Isn’t a hero supposed to inspire and be hopeful?

If you could steal one DC villain to add to marvels roster, who would it be?

I was between Lex and Braniac but I felt that Braniac would fit the Marvel Universe better

Brainiac also would be a FIRE F4 villain

NBA players that hit the most annoyingly difficult shots?

Curry hits some BS shots for real

You're creating the most broken NBA player ever by fusing any two players. Who are you choosing?

I’m banning both Shaq and Curry from this to get rid of some of the easy answers

What is your likely prediction for the movie box office wise?

After it got wrapped, I was wondering how much this movie could realistically make.

Looking at other video game movies:

Mario made $1.36B.

Minecraft is around $960M.

Sonic 3 made about $463M.

Detective Pikachu did around $450M.

Warcraft made about $439M.

The biggest difference is that Mario, Minecraft, and Sonic are movies basically anyone can go see. Elden Ring is dark fantasy with weird lore, nightmare creatures, and probably isn’t gonna be aimed at kids. That already lowers its ceiling.

I think A24 actually helps it avoid being a complete flop. Their name carries a certain reputation with movie fans, and even people who aren’t familiar with Elden Ring might give it a chance because they expect something different or higher quality. It doesn’t guarantee success, but it gives the movie a better chance of finding an audience.

Personally I’d say

Likely- around $250M if general audiences don’t connect with it.

Best Case-somewhere between $400M and $600M.

Dream Scenario- maybe $700M to $800M if it becomes one of those movies everyone starts talking about.

I don’t really see $1B happening. That would mean pulling in a ton of people who’ve never even touched the game, and that’s really hard for a movie like this

Who do you think will be the Leads in Secret Wars

  1. Tom Holland’s Spiderman

Seemingly the biggest omission from Doomsday. With the popularity of BND. Theres no way their biggest character isn’t a lead of the biggest movie in history

  1. Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey

After BND, Sadie has her origin and beginning explained. It’s time to really connect the masses to these new X-Men and Sadie is the perfect way to get them invested between BND and Secret Wars

  1. Tobey Maguire’s Spiderman

It’s Tobey, just putting him in the movie will make all those rabid raimi fans go crazy. They’d be dumb to not make him one of the people in the raft

  1. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine

Just like Tobey, Wolverine is a character fans are very nostalgic for. Putting him with Tobey is guaranteed to make people show up. Even people who just like the old X-men fans will show

  1. David Jonsson’s Black Panther

After Battleworlds creation, this is when I see David’s portrayal showing up. This is the time to connect the audience to the new Tchalla and what better way than making him lead the biggest movie.

  1. Pedro Pascal’s Mr. Fantastic

Dr. Doom, if done like secret wars, will have Reed’s family. This is time to really get into making Mr. Fantastic one of your pillars of the universe. Make him lead the Life Raft survivors.

  1. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange

If done like Hickman’s secret wars, he should be the right hand man. Give him an arc where he turns on doom and firmly make him a pillar of the MCU in the future

  1. RDJ’s Dr. Doom

The big boy will be the main character of doomsday. This is his story and battleworld is his world. It’s hard to see where victor doesn’t have a top 3 runtime of this movie. I expect he has the most screen time of doomsday

These older players need to be sold

Herb? Trade him

Trey? Trade him

Zion? Trade him

Dejounte? Trade him

Bey? Trade him

These players aren’t gonna win with how the nba is now. It’s time while all these teams are trying to improve this year to sell these players. I expect our team to be traded all away by deadline. We could probably sell herb for two picks or a pick and swap rn. I don’t understand why dumars is pretending we can make the playoffs with our team as bad as it is.

The tanking teams we beat last year are all gonna be better because of the new tanking rules. Yall need to get rid of the love yall have for these players who aren’t gonna win.

I’d agree if we were mid but this team is already gonna bottom out in the conference anyway. Maybe the Kings are worse but that’s it

Who are the Miami Dolphins of the NBA

This one is gonna be hard because we haven’t had like a super outlier like the 72 dolphins who went undefeated. They won two championships in the 70s back to back but have been mainly mid to ok with some good seasons after it. Only thing I can think of is the Sixers with the random 60s chip but they’re a hard team to comp

What would you want for Trey Murphy?

It seems as though based on rumors that our boy is most likely not on the team next year. If you had to give him up what would you want and where would you want to send him?

POR-BOS

Based on rumors this seems to be the trade for brown. Jerami and the two young guys with both bucks picks and another first.

Seems fair on both sides but wow is this so much worse than just trading the role players for giannis.

They’ll probably give a bucks pick away for Turner and trade one of the young guys and some picks for Trey but it’s so meh

What NBA legend would be better today than their era

I’m going first and saying Bird. Dude was a 6’10 shooter that can pass and can play inside. With the spacing nowadays he’d be debatably be better now
