One professor could ruin an entire batch?

So i started to study in germany last year and for a foreign student every subject was weirdly tough but doable after a while , However.. we had that subject with that one professor who made us swallow a 1 year worth of advanced thermal engineering in 4 months with a final exam of 90 minutes with on godly exam level (literally i have never seen this level in my life) . First i thought i was just dumb and didn’t study hard , then nearly all the batch were on the same situation

As expected nearly everyone failed at the exam (170 of 193 student)and some people even thinking of changing courses just because they know what kind of man they are facing

To be honest i still have 2 tries left but i want your opinion as a professors/teachers on what makes some people do this and how to deal with them without losing my mind ? And obviously pass..

Is it okay to start again?

Hello everyone,

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I really need someone to listen because I feel completely lost right now and I don’t have anyone here to talk to

I came to Germany in October 2025 to start my Master’s degree in Engineering. Unfortunately, things went wrong almost immediately. When I arrived, I discovered that the tenant who was supposed to move out of my apartment had changed his mind and decided to stay because of his girlfriend. As a result, I had to spend weeks moving between hotels until he eventually found me another apartment

It was a terrible start. My classes had already begun, and I was behind from day one

A few months later, I started looking for a part-time job because I needed financial stability. That became the second major challenge. The city was very small, and there were almost no job opportunities available. I spent months stressed and constantly searching for work, even looking in nearby cities. During that time, I neglected my studies more and more.

After my first semester, I finally found a part-time job, but it was in another city about two hours away. I moved there while staying enrolled at the same university, hoping I could somehow make it work , I couldn’t

Between work, commuting, daily life, and the subjects I had already fallen behind on, everything started piling up. Time passed incredibly fast, and before I realized it, I felt completely overwhelmed and unable to catch up

Now I’m seriously considering transferring to another nearby university and starting over. Part of me thinks it’s the right decision because I’ve learned so much from the mistakes and difficulties of this past year. I know what I would do differently , But I’m terrified

I’m afraid of how people will judge me, especially my family. I don’t know how to tell them that I spent all this money and sacrificed so much, only to end up almost back at the starting point. I’m also 26 years old, alone in a foreign country, and scared of failing again. Sometimes it feels like one more mistake could ruin my future completely

I know there are people dealing with much bigger problems, but right now I honestly feel like I’m losing myself

If anyone has been through something similar, I would really appreciate hearing your thoughts or advice

Thank you for reading

Switching to lactose free milk

Hello, so in short i started a new diet a while a ago which i have to consume daily 500-750 ml of full fat milk , I usually don’t seem to have a problems with that but sometimes it gets really gassy and problematic inside you know

So I’m really considering to switch to lactose free milk as it widely available here at same price range

So my question would it be the right move ? Would i notice a difference and is there any downsides for this?

I hope someone had the same experience before

No exams results after almost 4 months, is this normal?

I had my first semester exams in February and got only 3 results from 6 exams , i even ignored this new semester because i’m very anxious that I’m failing in one or two of these unknown results and that i have to retake again .. is this normal thing in Germany? I feel like it’s a university thing and I’m really considering to change to another one because of these delays

Social media hate speech driving me insane

Is anyone else noticing how much hate social media algorithms push lately?

Sometimes it genuinely feels unreal seeing how many people online are filled with hate toward others because of their religion, skin color, nationality, or even the smallest opinion difference over something meaningless. What’s disturbing is knowing these people live around you — you could walk past them the next morning and never know what kind of thoughts they carry.

I deleted Instagram two weeks ago because it started exhausting me mentally, but Facebook honestly feels even worse. Every scroll turns into rage bait, division, or people dehumanizing each other for engagement.

Part of me wants to delete everything at this point, but another part worries I’ll completely disconnect myself from what’s happening in the world

Today i got into the 3D printing world with my p1s , the first thing I decided to do is design and print this drawer handler that was broken for almost half a year which makes your life hell when you’re on a rush and want to open it

And wow , i know it’s not a big deal , but when it worked out it felt better than anything!

I hope to keep practicing fixing problems at my room until everything works perfectly

Hello , i want to start making my own mini project which of course will include electronics that needs soldering, i have a very little experience in using soldering iron and there are so many options, the one I really thinking to get is fanttik T1 max , it looked compact and easy to use , do you think it’s a good option to start or overkill?
