(The last gas station) Business sim with an eerie mystery.

I found this indie game called The Last Gas Station. It's a cozy management sim with a creepy, UFO/supernatural mystery playing out as you interact with the local eccentrics and have brief strange encounters. The game is wonderfully atmospheric.

Cozy business Sim and slow burn mystery are great combo (The Last Gas Station)

I bought The Last Gas Station on sale for 11 bucks and I am liking it so far. In the game you run a rural gas station slowly earning money and upgrading it while a UFO supernatural mystery unfolds in the background. You uncover that mystery as you interact with characters, find recordings that keep popping up in the environment and catch glimpses of strange things. It's really satisfying slowly building up the station and slowly piecing together the mystery. I haven't finished it yet so I don't know how the mystery ties up yet.

I think XCOM 2 is an improvement over XCOM enemy unknown.

I have only recently gone into XCOM. I played XCOM enemy unknown a while back and more recently I've played XCOM 2. I know opinions are divided on which is better but for me it's definitely 2.

I like the better mission variety, I think the classes are better balanced, I like the bigger maps, and I am so glad this one doesn't punish you for using explosives, because blowing things up is fun. Enemy unknown was better a couple aspects, The creepy atmosphere, and slightly more involved base building.

On the subject of stealth, I hope it's purely optional.

I hope it's purely optional. The last thing I would want is a mandatory stealth level grinding the pace to a halt. I could see something cool like an optional stealth bit where you sneak up on a ninja. But if you fail, they get a sneak attack on you and you start the fight with the third of your health missing. But I hope that is as close to mandatory as stealth as.

Prime directive hypothetical?

The federation encounters civilization that has colonized their nearest Stars. At first they thought they had just discovered warp drive but apparently not. Turns out they had a recent ancestor that could hibernate. They used biotech to reawaken this ability allowing them to enter biostasis for months or even years. They used it to colonize their nearest Stars using sub-light sleeper ships. Would the federation be okay with contacting them because they are now space faring? Would they not because they are still pre-warp? How might the federation deal with this situation?

I just noticed Roxon troops from Spider-Man: Miles Morales look eerily similar to the Advent troops in XCOM 2.

Rejoice! We are finally getting away from games being announced way too early.

I really hate it when they announce games way too early. Especially when half those games end up being canceled or stuck in development hell, examples include the knights of the Old Republic remake, Marvel 1943, and of course the elder scrolls 6. We are now 8 years out from the elder scrolls 6 teaser. It's way better for the developers to wait until they have something to actually show, like actual gameplay and story bits from a finished script.

I think we're finally getting away from that though. The recent announcement events focused on games that are coming in the near future. God of War: Laufey releases in about a year. The new Spyro the Dragon is set to release in less than a year.

Surprised we don't seem more civilian space travel in Star Trek.

It's implied that civilian interstellar passenger and cargo transport is fairly common in the federation. I'm surprised that it doesn't factor into the show as much if at all. A series could easily do an episode where they get a distress call from a passenger liner or come across a derelict cargo ship. The next generation had its Sherlock Holmes episodes. Why not do a play on Death on the Nile or Murder on the Orient Express?

What is "good" financial advice you disagree with?

For me it's, automate your savings. I transfer to my savings manually because the satisfaction of making the transfer keeps me motivated with my financial goals. Also, if I've been doing well the past couple months, my account balance has crept up. I transfer a little more than normal and that's extra satisfying.

What is a widely considered good piece of financial advice you disagree with?

For me it's automate your savings. I could set up an automatic transfer for my checking to my savings, but I prefer to do it manually. The satisfaction of making the transfer keeps me motivated with my financial goals.

Throat pain in one specific spot with allergies, solutions?

For the past few years when my allergies act up, I get this pain in this one specific spot in the top of my throat. It's right behind my soft palate. I think it's where my throat meets my sinuses. Is there any like throat spray for allergies to make that one specific spot feel better?

I have had these galaxies on the back of my hands for many years. I now noticed darkening of the skin and around them as well as on the joints. I'm not sure how long that has been part of it. Is that normal? What could be causing this? Should I be concerned?
