Took out the VIG station in Avarice plot without cheesing it

Last playthrough, I completed this quest by totally cheesing the heck out of it. Pre-built a defense station, used a captured Asgard, that sort of stuff.

This time, approached it how it seems to be intended, and it's way more fun. Had a little fleet of Delilah's Swansong as my flagship with L beans and flak, being followed by four Osakas armed with M Flak turrets, the Odysseus also armed with Flak. Even that seems to take unacceptable losses due to those VIG missiles.

Then it hit me. A carrier with 70 heavy fighters, each with flares for good measure, set to intercept for commander. Even though we lost about 20 fighters in the end (most because they stupidly flew right into the target station guns, chasing a couple defense drones), the pilots were later rescued by the carrier. The station was blown up by the combined firepower, and finally, the 15M paid off the VIG to get off my back.

Those fighters distracted the enemy enough that not a single missile incoming message was heard on my Syn. Not sure of the rest of the destroyers, but none were damaged.

I will plan to wipe the VIG eventually, but for now, that was a great fight with a lot of fireworks!

Haile Shinamon disappeared

I had this guy piloting my Syn from the Terran plot, and all of a sudden he just disappeared. The Syn needed a new captain, and good ol' Haile is nowhere to be found. Not in my crew roster. Where could he have gone?

My bees pollinating my berries 😊

Second year beekeeper. I hope my bees do a good job of pollinating my berry bushes this year!

So the Terran Intervention Corps just died a dumb death...

I used my Kuraokami to fly alongside the TIC Asgard into Tharka's Cascade. Lots of fireworks, lots of loot. Great. Then, the Corps decided to attack one of those asteroid stations. They shot at anything but the station, and the Asgard used all its weapons, but not the mega beam of death. After about half an hour of this, the only remaining ships were the Asgard and the Osaka. Xenon Ks and one I descended on them and that was that. Even after I left the system, the Asgard didn't seem to use its laser, as no Ks died.

Even when I was in system and sitting beside the Asgard, it would aim its bow at the Xenon station, fire a barrage of regular two Terran batteries, but no superlaser. Bug, feature, or should I just ignore the Corps?

Last playthrough, I "commandeered" that Asgard and it had the mega beam equipped.

New game. Last time, I gave up and used a mod to place beacons at the Erlking data vaults.

This time, using the same mod, only four data vaults seem to have spawned 🤔 Any ideas what I should do?

Hi fellow beekeepers!

I started this hobby because I wanted to, since I was a kid. I am not into maximizing profits or anything (gave away all honey I didn't use last year).

Last year, I intended to let the bees keep all their honey stores for the winter. Two of my hives had a single medium honey storage box on top, and another two mediums. They were chock full by mid-September, so I pumped out three frames out of each hive. Plus more honey in the brood chambers.

They survived the winter (yeay!), but I haven't opened them yet due to bad weather. I will soon, as the weather warms up.

On the Internet, all I see is harvesting honey in the fall and immediately feeding X amounts of syrup for the winter. That's great, but again, I am not looking for max honey production.

For a single deep brood chamber, what would be an optimal amount of honey to leave for the winter? Let's assume no stores in the deep chamber ( not true of course, but for the minimums).

So, as all the hives survived, I wonder if just one medium full of honey would suffice, or should I put on two next year just in case? Atlantic Canada, we had some pretty brutal temps, but of course nothing like up North.

Thank you 😊

They didn't wait until I gave them one. Now they bring full pollen pants under the lid

Second year, the hives seem to have survived the winter 😁 Atlantic Canada. We had a few days at or above 10 degrees now, and I noticed pollen pants for the first time today! No idea where they get it from, haven't seen a single flower besides crocuses a week or two ago.

Anyway, now that they are bringing pollen in, I'm guessing the queens will start laying soon. When would be a good time for a first inspection of the year? I'd like to see how many eggs there are, to know when to split and not miss the swarming. There are supposed to be a few days of 10ish degrees, but cold and rainy all next week.

I was outside today, and a few of the bees landed on me, appearing to lick the sweat on my arm... Concern, or normal? Never seen it before. There are puddles in the area, so they don't lack water.
