There's a type of Mario Manga Series called 4Koma Manga, where various Manga Artists make small comics based off Mario.

Okay so, one of these comics of Mario is that he is a Traumatized Veteran who resorts to violence very easily and is super bloodthirsty without Bowsers influence. I'm not making this up. This is an official version of Mario, where Peach in one of these mangas outright says she gets herself kidnapped in order for Mario to not get a war flashback as if "there’s too much peace" Mario goes insane, and also, the joke I added here… that's a thing that happened, Mario can apparently perform Mortal Kombat moves.

TDLR; If there's too much peace Mario may start tweakin 💔
