How hard is it to find a job working at one of the Mountain huts?

I've hiked in Switzerland and LOVE IT! I often wonder how easy it would be to come back for a summer and work at one of the mountain huts. I'm not an EU citizen unfortunately. I think it would be amazing to live for a few months doing that.

Moving to LHV area this summer and excited! Looking for recommendations.

Hi, my wife and I are moving to the LHV area this summer. We don't have a specific area in mind, but will begin the house hunting process soon as we touch ground. At the same time we'll be moving our daughter into College.

I have a few questions and maybe you'll have some recommendations.

-What areas on the east side of PA would you say are great places in terms of home buying and community?

-Are there any hiking groups?

-Any GEOCaching clubs?

-I will be getting back to loading my own ammo and enjoying some friendly competitive shooting such as IDPA. What range(s) are best for pistol shooting?

-Where do older couples (52M and 47F) that are empty nesters find similar groups that are interested in music, playing games, watching comedy shows and enjoying the outdoors?

▲ 2 r/PAguns

I've been overseas since 2019 and moving to eastern PA this summer. Prior, I was active in IDPA and handloading my own ammo in Delaware. Now that I'll be back in the states, I'm excited to get back into competitive shooting again.

I feel like I've been out of the game for so long, that I don't know where to start. I don't know what the gun laws are in PA. I don't know what has changed in terms of loading my own ammo. I have some guns at a friends in DE, but I don't know what the regulations are to drive there and bring them back to PA.

Any websites you can direct me to for my education?

I visited Kandersteg a few years ago and one of the fun things we did was cook hot dogs on a fire near the lake. There were several fire pits located in the area and they sold small bags of firewood at the store near the lake.

I plan to go back this June and wonder if we can still do this. I had such a nice time and I'd like to do it again.

Hi. I'm a retired Military member (family of three and one dog) living overseas, but moving to PA this summer. I'm hoping for a short term furnished rental that won't kill my savings in or around LH area. I've found homes that would be great using FurnishedFinder, but nobody is responding to my booking messages.

AirBnB is wayyyyyy to expensive. Those extended stay places are thru the roof. And renting an apartment is crazy, not to mention I'll be stuck to a long term lease.

We plan to hit the ground running with searching for a home, but I can't imagine finding a home and closing in less than 3 months.

Any advice for someone in this situation for the first time?

Looking for a short term rental near Allentown, PA.

Hello, I've found several options using the website/app, but NOBODY seems to be responding to my booking requests. Is this common? There was one that 'read' my message, but hasn't responded.

I'm moving to PA in July and using one of these rentals would be huge in supporting our budget for housing while we shop for a home.

I can't find anything in writing and SATO travel googled the answer. I'm on military retirement orders, flying from Germany to JFK this July. I'm going told I have 3 bags per traveler and 50lbs each.

I just don't want to show up at checkin and be asked to pay for the bags. Typical active duty orders spells out what bags you are allowed. Retirement orders do not.
