Should I be concerned about my privacy after my phone got inspected by CBP ?

I passed the US border recently and because of some unexpected administrative mishap, I end up being questioned and my iPhone being seized.

I know from my screen time in settings and the questions they asked me that they went through my pictures and texting apps.

The search lasted around 20 minutes and the agent stayed at his desk, although I couldn't see the whole time what he was doing on my phone nor my screen.

Is there a potential risk they extracted some of my data or installed anything on my phone without notice ?
I read about how US borders got more invasive in their search in the last months, as how spywares can be used or how some countries borders, they could have such practices.

Canon-AE1 - roll lever activates the shutter!

I changed my roll on my Canon AE-1 as usual. As I start shooting with it, I realize than when I push the film advance lever to roll the film, it activates the shutter.

I tried to change the speed, it wouldn’t change anything. any time I push the lever, it seems it takes a /1000 (if not faster) pic. Made a few other tests and it seems the mirror goes up, but the « flag » doesn’t open (ie the film is not exposed)

yesterda, as I was playing with the lever, it suddenly worked fine again. But then the same issue happened again for 1 shot, before working again.

Does anyone know what’s going on and how it could be fixed?

Last service was a bit less than a year ago. I shot around 100 rolls since.

Hitchhike through Mexico - por donde vamos ?

I'm about to go across Mexico hitchhiking, from US border to Belize and trying to figure out my way.

I have already been through Baja this spring. There, locals were telling me Mexico was a fine place where tourists are respected, but depending where, there could be a risk of ending up in cross-fire situations between gangs/cartels...

Are there places/states you would recommend/avoid ?

So far, I figured I would pass the border in Sonora and then go South towards CDMX. Either following Sea of Cortez's coast or through the mountains (Durango, Zapatecas...)

Noting that I'm considered in MX as a güero (not a gringo) and speak Spanish.

I've also read the threads under this post. Noting that I will be picked up by Mexicans with Mexican plates, making me to avoid the bribery issues.

Before you tell me: I know hitchhiking, I experienced different countries and meant countless people who feared for my life, thinking I would be abducted or killed. As Mexico itself, I know it isn't 100% safe. As any other way of travelling/country. It is why I'm writing this post. These researches point to be the most ready to avoid any unnecessary potential unconveniences on the trip.

Please prevent from any comments if you haven't travelled through the country or do not live there, there are already enough hearsays. I'm trying to get a clearer picture.

Thanks y Gracias !

Hitchhiking through Mexico

I'm about to go across Mexico hitchhiking and trying to get a plan of the road I'll follow.

I have already done some through Baja, but this time, I'm going from CA to Belize.
The locals at that time were telling me Mexico was a fine place where tourists are respected, but depending where, there could be a risk of ending up in cross-fire situations between gangs/cartels...

Are there places/states you would recommend to visit or to avoid ?

So far, I thought of getting in Sonora and then go towards CDMX through either the Sea of Cortez coast or the mountains (Durango, Zapatecas...)

Trying to get mostly feedback from people who experienced the road there or who actually live in these states

How to delete Health Storage ?

I'm running out of storage and try to clean it. I had 1.3 Go used by the health App.

I followed this tutorial, found that I had plenty of data coming from previous owner. I deleted all of it... but when I go in my storage settings, Health is still using 0.98 Go !

Un the details of it, "Data Types" seems not have moves, when "Data Sources" got everything removed.

Anyone kows how to clean the app properly ?
Or uninstall it (data included, bc when I try to do it the normal way, a message indicates data won't be supressed.

I have a 16Pro on iOS 18.5

Recent experience with hitchhiking planes (specifically US) ?

Hey y'all,

I reached US WestCoast 2 months ago, trying originally to hitch a boat from there to go to Hawaii. End up being super hard&not working, so I start thinking looking for planes...

Is that actually a thing ? Has anyone witnessed such a hitch or heard about one in the last years ?

So far in my searches, I thought aiming at empty-leg flights or private jets.

Where to meet pilots/private jet owners in the Bay?

Hey fellows from the Bay,

Idk if any would have the answer for such a specific question, but I try to get in touch with pilots (ideally private jets) or owners of such planes.
Are there typical restaurants/bars or other places where these people hang between 2 flights or a long layover ?

Thx

Hitchhiking Planes - Any recent testimonies ?

Hey y'all,

I'm a hitchhiker travelling around the world. I reached US WestCoast 2 months ago, trying to find my way through the Pacific on a boat. Put simply, it didn't work out. So I am leaning towards hitchhike a plane...

So far in my searches, I thought aiming at empty-leg flights or private jets like the best lead...

Is taht actually a thing ? Has one of you witnessed such a hitch or heard about one in the last years ?

The only testimonies I found are 10+ years ago, if not pre-9/11

So, any piece of advices ???
Is it just a vagabond fantasy or hitchhike planes are real ?

Also,I am in the Bay area rn and trying to go to Hawaii, bc things were not hard enough already
