Out of Curiosity In this Rare/Unlikely Scenario…

If somebody, in their TFSA had enough money from however or got lucky off of some growth stocks or meme stocks and adjusted their portfolio to provide enough dividends to cover all expenses that they could stop working.

This could be somebody living by themselves, very low expenses and maybe had enough to pay off a mortgage.

Could they technically live an income tax free life not having to file every year seeing how everything is coming in on their TFSA? Would there be any exceptions somewhere?

I’ve wondered if a scenario like this could work.

Clutch Ult to Win the Game

By no means an Ilari main but I’m definitely working on improving with her into my top 3.

I’ve added both the POTG and the replay from behind.

We were in overtime and on defence. I came out of spawn with only the Rein fighting back and saw their whole team behind the payload and fired the ult away anyway just before dying. Giving the Rein an opportunity which worked in the end.

Then pushing the Orisa away from the payload

VOD: Looking for feedback

VOD Feedback: Juno

I’d like to have some reviews on my most recent competitive match. Lately I’ve gone on a massive losing streak going from Gold 3 down to Silver 3.

Losing matches are often a very one sided game, the games where I’m on the winning side often start very good but my team can easily lose momentum and they’re very close wins.

My first few deaths in the first half on defence from my reviews I can see I was slightly off from cover, or chasing a teammate/extending.

In the second half I’d like to ask,

  1. The very end when the payload needs pushing that last bit, I seem to struggle (perhaps?) on what seems to be the best options when everybody is on that last bit. I did try and ult earlier but was canceled out by Sombra. Then aimed to have it ready again as quickly as possible to initiate a last push.

  2. At the 1:50 remaining mark on attack, I’m sitting on the payload in between my teammates that are separated in fights. In a situation like this, do you do your best on supporting both groups or stick to the objective and what’s forward?

Any feedback is appreciated

How do you prioritize Torpedoes?

I’ve noticed that sometimes I miss out on securing kills when it can be helpful because torpedoes are on cooldown.

Sometimes I often jump out at a higher angle and fire them off on all enemies, even if they’re at full health rather than if some are low. Or do you often use them more for heals in the back line?

Are there any particular order that you would use them in? Also do you use the enemy cooldown perk or the faster ally lock on perk?

Buying a chunk of ENB now still viable?

With its current price?

I’m currently moving the remaining amount from BMO to Wealthsimple and looking to adjust my portfolio. It’s primarily for distributions but also keeping some growth in mind.

I currently hold XEQT, XDIV, HDIV, HHIS, QDAY, BANK AND VDY. As well as ENCL which I may sell and add to others.

I’m looking to grab maybe 150-200 shares of ENB and that’s only a fraction of what is being transferred over, or could I have better value elsewhere.

I’m looking to either simplify or make the portfolio more efficient.

Looking for opinions and reasonable responses please.

With Wealthsimple doing so well

Has anybody decided to invest with Power Corp (POW) or IGM for gains or for a yield?

Both seem to have been doing well and it’s an alternative to the bigger banks.

Transferring BMO TFSA to Wealthsimple

I’m looking to see if anybody has done this recently. There are some posts about this subject but nothing recently and curious on your experience.

I currently have mutual funds with BMO under my TFSA account and looking to transfer the remaining amount to my existing Wealthsimple TFSA.

My goals as of now is a self directed portfolio, aimed at mostly distributions to use as additional income if needed and long term growth.

If anybody has any experience with this, especially with BMO, I’d like to know your experience and what you had to do in order to transfer it over. I’m wondering if I really need to contact BMO to liquidate or just initiate through the Wealthsimple app. Or would it simply be easier to trade with BMO Investor Line? I see they charge per trade, any idea if there is a minimum balance requirement for this not to apply?

Thanks

Varying Principal Payments On A Fixed Rate

I’ve recently been paying attention to my mortgage payments (bi weekly) and following the amount that goes towards the principal. I’ve noticed that on a fixed rate the amount of principal that comes off varies greatly every two weeks.

If interest is calculated daily, shouldn’t it be more consistent? One week, the principal will go down for example $800, the next payment it’s $1000, then $750. It seems to alternate between high and low payments.

So my question is, what is being calculated to cause these varying payments?

Non-registered tax questions, looking for options

I’m currently investing with my TFSA with some growth but primarily using it as additional income when needed, or reinvesting the dividends each month.
As of now it is currently maxed out which limits how much I can grow my distributions each year. My primary growth is under my BMO TFSA and for dividends, I currently use Wealthsimple.

My question is, to further increase my share holdings, I was thinking of using a non-registered, buying more shares for the remainder of the year and then come January I could transfer it all over or… perhaps something else if there is a better option. With this method, how to the taxes work with the gains plus the dividends?

I’ve only ever used my TFSA for this purpose so I never had to fill out any income taxes on the subject, but I’ve read that dividends can be a more efficient way in terms of taxes. But I’m also wondering about the gains from selling.

Or is there entirely a better way in doing this?

Thanks

X55 and Blocked Apple Devices

Wondering if anybody else has experienced this issue.

All of my TP-Link Deco X55 have been running fine up to the last few months where kids iPads are spontaneously blocked access to anything Apple related or Roblox.

I had set up profiles for each of them and had put their devices onto their corresponding profiles and at some point I would have one of their iPads denied access or continuously buffer when accessing something. Then I see under their profile in the Deco app that Apple websites have been blocked. I later give access to them and everything is fine.

However, eventually it’ll happen again. So I decided to delete the profile and now the iPads are being blocked again, my wife now seems to have a similar issue where it’s asking for a 6 digit code under an ‘access denied’ page. I took a look, closed it and it all started working again.

Secondly, some of their Apple devices have their names changed under the app. I labeled each device, wired and wireless that connect to the network and it seems their Apple things sometimes no longer connect under the assigned name and I get something entirely different.

If anybody has had any experience this or point me in the right direction, I’d appreciate it. I hope it goes back to normal eventually lol.

Thanks

Eco+ Setting, A Little Ridiculous?

I’ve been seeing Eco+ come up regularly now when trying to adjust the thermostat and obviously to do so, I’ll need to disable it for the day or else it wouldn’t change.

As of the last few days, I’ve been waking up to some really low settings. This morning in particular, my thermostat was set to 18°C when it was 6°C outside.

My girls woke up cold, and as much as I enjoy it being cool, this is a bit over doing it?

How is this suppose to save on energy?
