The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

The Adjustment Bureau (2011)

This movie definitely surprised me! I don't know why I'd never heard of it before, but I loved Matt Damon and Emily Blunt's chemistry and the "stakes" involved. I definitely want to watch more romantic sci-fi movies. ❤️

Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong (2015)

Maybe the fact that they're married IRL did a lot of the heavy lifting, but I remember this being sooo good! 😅

My student loan payment is $0/month with IDR... Should I still work on paying down the interest?

My IDR application just got approved (yay!) but now I'm looking for advice on the best method of handling my debt. Since I don't technically "owe" anything each month, I wanted to know if it's a good idea to just focus on keeping the interest down. My job qualifies for PSLF, but I don't want to completely neglect my loans and let them needlessly accrue. I currently owe $48k and while that isn't small, it isn't necessarily debilitating either.

Ants are coming through bedroom window after a few days of rain... Next steps?

Hi, so last night I found an infestation of ants in my window sill after a few days of rain. I asked my Dad what to do about it (because they started coming into my bedroom through the window) and he sprayed them with hydrogen peroxide, which killed some of them but also freaked a lot of them out. My mom also sprayed down my window with a peppermint oil solution, but I've noticed that the ants (the ones that are still alive) are now just going into the wood of my window. Is this bad? I put down a couple of liquid ant baits but I don't really know what else to do... Is it just a waiting game now?

Can your night guard exacerbate impacted wisdom tooth pain?

Hi, I wear a night guard to help with clenching/grinding, but I've been having a lot of pain while wearing it lately in a specific area. In the upper left corner of my mouth, I believe my wisdom tooth is growing (it's impacted under the gums) and I wanted to know if it's possible that my night guard is putting pressure on that area somehow? Although there is some mild discomfort during the day, it gets much worse at night and I can't lie down on that side. I've never experienced this kind of pain before (I'm 25) and it's making it difficult to sleep.

Can your tooth be damaged from a rotating electric toothbrush?

This morning I was brushing my teeth and accidentally hit one with the plastic edge of my 360 electric toothbrush. It made a loud grinding sound when it brushed my tooth, but since it's a back molar, I can't tell if I damaged it or not. I'd hate to schedule a dentist appointment for something trivial, especially since I recently had my 6 month check-up. I'm not in pain or anything, but is this something I should worry about?

After finishing school, I now make $26k a year after taxes... How should I move forward?

I'm 25F/single/no dependents and I currently make 26k a year after taxes ($40k a year before taxes) from my full-time job. As of right now, I live with my parents but would like to eventually have my own living situation. I pay $700 a month in student loans and anywhere between $100-$300 a month in savings, depending on what my (and my parents') needs are. I also pay for my own groceries, gas, and personal items which is another $200-$300 a month, which leaves me with about $900. Obviously, I could put that in my savings, but is there anything else I can do to get the most out of my money? Also, if my goal is to buy a house, how much should I be putting aside? Is that even feasible with my salary? I'm sorry if these are silly questions but my parents grew up very poor and any time I ask them for financial advice they tell me that I should consider myself lucky to be making so much, however, I'm having trouble with seeing how to make these numbers work for me...

(Edit: I'm sorry for the confusion regarding my hourly wage in the comments. I make $20 an hour, not $30. I got the numbers mixed up, thanks to the people who aren't being rude about that.)

▲ 4 r/GERD

I didn't know I wasn't supposed to have spearmint tea!

For anyone else with PCOS/hirsutism, consider this a warning! I had no idea that I could have a bad reaction to spearmint tea because of my GERD. Now it's 3am and I'm sitting in bed drinking tons of water instead of sleeping to try and curb the symptoms. My mouth feels dry, my stomach is slightly burning, and I can't lie down without burping. I'm probably going to have to stay up all night until the discomfort dies down... This sucks, because I feel like it was really helping me with excessive hair growth, but I can't risk the unnecessary flare ups.

The Waterwell

It beckons me to its depths;

to fall, to float, to fall again.

“Will I ever be happy?”

I ask myself.

The waterwell does me in.

But it overflows, no surprise,

the wait is exhausting.

No one comes to

lift me up

and it keeps on

overflowing.

I don't want this to be the end of me

F25. Every time I binge and feel sick because of said binge, the first thing I think about is, "What if I die from this?" As someone who struggles with acid reflux and indigestion, it's hard not to feel like I'm dying after a binge. My chest gets tight, my stomach is in knots and I get pins and needles all over my body. It always passes, but my BED has me constantly wondering, "Am I knocking on that door?" I don't want to be. I want better for myself. If only I could better control my feelings, my cravings. 😓 Some days I would just rather not eat at all. I think I'm going to try eating the same things every day to see if that helps. I'll do anything at this point.

I hurt myself with food today and I feel terrible (physically and mentally)

It's been a couple of months since I've been in this position, but I binged today and feel absolutely terrible. I ate a huge bag of Doritos (family size!!!) and I wasn't even hungry. I just needed something to do. Now my stomach is in shambles (did I mention I'm also on my period) and I'm actively trying to convince myself that I'm not going to have a heart attack. My mouth is dry, the cramps are uncomfortable, and I can't sleep. The worst part is that I did it all to myself. I was doing so well and now I feel broken again. 😔

F25 In search of a meaningful relationship

Hi, I'm F25 and from the east coast of the United States. I enjoy reading, art, puzzles, music, and watching an immense amount of media. What's your favorite movie/TV show? What's your least favorite movie/TV show? I'd love to know! I'm neurodivergent and have always had trouble keeping friends, so I thought this might be a good opportunity to reach out to other people who are in the same boat. I also consider myself to be on the left side of the political spectrum. I'm looking for someone to build a meaningful relationship with. Let's be friends!

If you message me, please include your ASL and what you're looking for in a connection. ☺️ Don't be weird.
