Lifetime public lands pass

I recently read that ADHD qualifies you for a free lifetime pubic lands pass. I don't recall where I read it but I went to Grand Teton and Yellowstone this week. When I got to the window to pay I asked if he had any info on the pass as I had heard that ADHD now qualified you. Homie asked to see my ID, had me read a paragraph and then handed over a 100% lifetime public lands pass. This includes all national parks, forest service sites, BLM, army of engineers corps, and fish and wild life sites. Having ADHD sucks ass most days. Go get you your LIFETIME pass friends.

How relevant are Geisha in modern society and how have their lives changed with the times?

I know there are still working Geisha and I've seen *some* modern media and it seems from that small bit of perspective that their work has not changed much with the times. But who is their main clientele these days? Also, I recently read two books. Memoirs Of a Geisha, and Geisha, A Life. They were both very different and both women had wildly different experiences. So I understand each woman's experience is not the same, but I guess my question is about the social construct within the Okiya. Are young girls still adopted by an okaasan? Is it still extremely competitive? It seemed like in both stories the women were somewhat pitted against each other. Sorry if any of these questions come off as ignorant. These books have just made me more curious about the occupation and I'd like to learn. Thank you in advance for any insight.

Edit: I am getting some down votes and responses with unhappy tones so I feel like I may be unwittingly asking an inappropriate question. That is not my intention and I apologize. I will research more on my own. I was just curious about the modern view of the profession.

Is it "weird"?

I worked really hard on this guest room. My husband said its "a weird room." The only new item I bought was the bed and bedding. He has me worried that I made an ugly ass room and he keeps calling the orange bed spread coral and now IM starting to think its coral. It's definitely not but hes got in my head about it. It is in a half? Basement so I had to get creative with lighting because the big light is hideous.

Edit

The couch is there because I have friends that visit regularly with a small child and she won't sleep in another room. Also all the colors are burnt orange and dusty blue with shades that vary slightly since most of the room was thrifted/gifted. I agree the lighting can be better. I may need to buy a new lamp as I cant change the bulb in the one behind the screen. Couch placement is difficult as there is a large closet on the left wall not shown and the bed is just far enough away from the right wall not shown for an adult to comfortably get in bed. I also agree art is needed but have been waiting to find a piece I really like.

Annual Rotation

I added some new, kept some old favorites and moved lots of other books out of display/quick access. I dont have the mental ability to get rid of books so this is how I keep my collection fresh. Once a year I pull everything out, sort and choose what to have readily available for the year. And I always try to leave room for a few new ones. 😊

My dining room. What secrets does she hold?

The small TV on the table is temporarily there. It is used outside on the deck and hurried in from the rain today.

My sister is bringing me down hard.

I called my sister today. We haven't talked in a while and I thought it might be nice to check in. I feel stupid now for thinking a conversation with her could ever be anything but unpleasant.

I asked her what she was up to and she said she was making cookies. I asked oh for anything special or just for fun? And she said for the 4th and then snapped at me "is that ok with you?" Weird (not really) but moved on with the conversation.

She brought up my and my husband's upcoming trip to Munich. We will only be there for 2.5 days. We are going for a special event and cant afford to stay longer. We're both really excited as neither of us have ever gone. A lot of people think its really weird that we're flying so far for such a short trip, but life is short and we want to see and do things. If we wait till we can afford a big grand adventure we'll never get to do anything.

Well she starts getting crazy and telling me how ridiculous it is and that she just thinks its dumb and doesn't get it. Ive been hearing (a more polite version) of this since we started letting a few people know we were going. I kinda of snapped and said I dont know why everyone is so concerned with what we are doing with our time and money. I regret telling my family anything about my life.

She started yelling at me that if I didn't want her opinion I shouldn't bring it up. I literally did not being it up. It felt so unhinged I just hung the phone up. And now I'm feeling so sad. Im still excited about my trip and i genuinely dont give af what she thinks of it but I am really tore up that I'm getting this shit behavior from my only sister.

It's making me realize I dont think I like her. Which makes me even more sad. I dont want to dislike my sister! But her hateful judgment is not new and seems to get worse with the years.

Have you ever dealt with realizing you don't like a family member? How do you deal with it without ruining your family. I dont want to go no contact. Her husband and I are good friends. And my parents love having us all together. But I kind of think I hate her. I've been in a funk about it for hours.

American Japanese Internment

I am currently reading a book that focuses on the Japanese American Internment. It made me curious, is this subject covered at any level of Japanese standard education? Or is it more something you would learn about in university after choosing a study focus? If it is taught, what is the tone or telling of this history? I would be very surprised if the average US citizen under the age of 35 knew about it. I only learned about it through being a fan of George Takei. I couldn't believe something like that happened in the land of the free. It's been several years since I learned of its existence and I've just recently been trying to learn more about it.

Hands free-ish snacking

I have a job where I drive sometimes up to 10 hours a day. My job also involves my hands being absolutely filthy disgusting. I need snack/food ideas that I can eat with my hands but not touch the food. And something that's not horribly messy and I can set down if I need to. Anything from snacks to a meal. Please and thank you. :)

But I've got tickets to see them in Florence and Denver and I am really hoping to cop some city shirts. I *DREAM* of a my chem blucifer crossover. Lol
