How many days until you got your hardcopy booklet and explanation of the final tally, etc.

I finally got a notice that my retirement, 30 September 25, has been finalized. 272 days.

I am wondering how long it has taken most people to get the paperwork from OPM in the mail.

Thanks everyone. I downloaded two separate booklets. One had my excess payment that will be deposited and the second showed they are correcting my health insurance to self instead of self plus one)

Anyone with a laser glass engraver in Silverdale/Bremerton?

I am planning on leaving a love note to my wife engraved on stained glass in my wife’s urn. I can hand engrave it, but I think a laser engraving might be better as I am using a gold wax mixture after it is engraved to make the letters more readable. The glass would be fairly small 4” x 2”. Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks everyone- Markerhaus can do it for me.

Widower (60s) choosing between staying in the PNW or moving back to Utah to be near busy adult sons. Has anyone regretted relocating for family?

I recently lost my wife, and now that I'm retired and selling my house in Washington, I have to decide where my next chapter will be. I am torn between staying in the Pacific Northwest or moving to Utah to be near my adult sons.
Both of my sons have explicitly asked me to move there, but given our history, I am honestly not sure if their words will match reality. They are incredibly busy with their own lives. We actually lived in Utah for five years previously, only 20 minutes away from them. During that entire time, they never made the effort to spend time with us on our birthdays, Mother’s Day, or Father’s Day. I worry their current invitations are more wishful thinking than a real commitment to spending time together.
I don't particularly love the hot climate or the highly materialistic culture in that specific area of Utah, but I would tolerate it for family. My fear is making a major move just to be ignored and end up feeling lonely in a place I don't enjoy. On the other hand, I could stay in the PNW and be lonely just as easily—but at least I'm in an environment I like.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, deciding whether to follow adult children who might not have the time to engage? Did you move, or did you stay put? How did it work out?

Why would Delta board an entire flight if the plane smells like all the toilets overflowed?

I am going to submit a complaint, but why would they board a flight that smells like sh*t and piss. I had to take this flight otherwise I would have walked off.

I am flabbergasted and want my money back.

What T-Mobile location has the most helpful staff that don’t think older people are as dumb as shit?

I am so tired of the Silverdale T-Mobile store. They treat me like I don’t know anything and I used to program for Apple and Microsoft so I am not some dumb old guy.

Any other options out there?

Any recommendations for a real estate agent to sell a home?

I am looking for a good real estate agent who will actively market a home. I am ready to list and having a hard time getting a response from the few I have contacted.

BRING BACK THE APPLE AND CHERRY STEAMED DANISH!!

Those were the best I always had mine double steamed with the butter melting on them. When they went to 20 flavors, they is when it collapsed.

Also the old apple pit pies fried in fat. We are eating fast food at McDonalds, not 100% fitness bar

I tried to post this elsewhere and the mods deleted it. I didn’t realize it was such a hot topic.

Bulk Yellow Roses Order Experience??

I am researching where to purchase 100 yellow roses for my wife’s memorial this July. I know I can order them online off the Costco website but they don’t have very good reviews. I always buy roses at the individual store and have not been disappointed. What are the real people of Reddit’s experience with bulk rose ordering? Thanks everyone.

Got a call from OPM today, and there is something I suggest you may want to make sure you have access to

DRO 2.0 - 30 SEP 25 retirement date.

I received a really nice call from OPM today, my pension has been made more complicated because my wife passed away last month. The OPM rep could not process anything because my certified marriage certificate was missing. I told her I had attached it in my initial paperwork and she said that many files are missing the marriage certificate and she does not know why that particular document has not been passed on to OPM. I sent the certificate right away. I don’t know the percentage of missing documents, so I don’t want everyone to panic - maybe just make sure you have an electronic copy handy in case you get the same call I did.

I have some friends who have told me they won’t go to the Apex Costco because it is not up to what they had been used to. They just say it is bad, poor selection, dirty, service is crap.

Can I get some other input? I have never run into that before

Seven (7) months seems to be a crazy amount of time especially when lots of the 1.0 DRPers have already posted they have already received their final numbers and booklet.

I was assigned a specialist a month ago, but I am not sure if that really means anything or not.
