I like to leave when it is still dark out, and then I start heading east at first light and enjoy a sunrise ride for a while. Then when the sun is fully out and bright enough to make riding east a little challenging, I can head west with the sun now behind me. I like the picture with the sun being out and the farmer working the field with the plow. That was cool to witness.
Maroon scotch pads until it seems you improved it as far as you can improve it.
400 grit sand paper dry until it seems you improved it as far as you can improve it.
600 grit dry and so on
1000 grit dry and so on
0000 steel wool dry and so on
Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish and a terry cloth
It's not perfect, but I'm shocked at how well it came out having never done a damn thing like this before. I did this over the course of about a month. Little here, little there, and I'll just hit it some more again as time goes on as I have plenty of sand paper and steel wool left over. My friend restores 1970's Honda's to concourse and show winning quality and he is the one who advised me on this. I think I spent around 10 hours total? Something like that.
What tires make for softer ride for cruising?
I love this bike so much. 4.5 hour ride this morning through Mount Hamilton to Livermore. Call me crazy, but I think the FLD is one of the best bikes Harley ever made. Absolute joy to ride.
I bumped into this guy while I was on my Dyna. This guy is a Harley lover to the core...just short on funds. So, until he can fulfill his dream of owning "any Harley," this is his Harley in the meantime. Great guy. Has two jobs, a wife, kids, etc, just can't afford his dream bike... yet. Let's send him good wishes and vibes and prayers and whatever you got. This man deserves his Harley!
Klock Werks shield with fork fangs has my wind protection all dialed in, Legends rears and Gold emulators up front have my suspension cushy, 14" bars are just right, stock seat works perfect for me (had to track one down to replace my Saddlemen), stage 2 set up has all the power I need...she's all dialed in and purrs like a kitten on these nice long rides on the Baby Road King. Who else is out riding today? Where you riding?

Got pulled over recently for an unsafe lane change. Cop was nice enough to give me a warning but ticketed me for not having my license on me. I recently lost my wallet and my new one finally came in. I was certain I had it in my pocket! Officer was nice enough to let me search my pockets for five minutes but nope. I lost another license in only one month! Yesterday I put those pants back on reached in my pocket to see if I had any cash on me before heading out and guess what was there. Yep! License was right there! Ever use your cell phone light to try to find your cell phone? That's always fun. Or look for the glasses you can't find that you're wearing? Maybe I had too much fun in the 90's and my brain is on the fritz now.
I have a 2013 Dyna Switchback. The stock shield created buffeting which was tolerable but annoying, and it was like pulling a parachute at higher speeds. I solved the buffeting with cheapo fork fangs. $20 Amazon fangs and the buffeting was gone which was fantastic. I finally got the windshield I wanted since it was back in stock, and I just returned from a 150 mile ride around the Bay Area. MONEY WELL SPENT. Installing it was easy. All of the holes lined up perfectly. I noticed right away that I no longer feel like I am pulling a parachute. As far as drag goes, it felt as though it wasn't even there. The faster I went, the more noticeable it was. It's really like it's not even there. Very impressed. We're having some weird weather patterns here in The Bay, with lots of cross winds, and that was a HUGE thing I noticed. I was able to blast right through them like nothing, whereas in my test ride right before with my stock shield, I'd have to slow down and take it easy. For those who know The Bay and the San Mateo bridge, I was able to blast through it today, despite the high winds, like they weren't even there. Really I can't express enough how different it was at high speeds and with a strong cross wind. According to some data about the shield, it's not only significantly more aerodynamic, but it also creates downward force on your front end to keep the bike more stable, whereas the stock shield creates upward force making your make less stable (yikes). This was very noticeable when taking long sweeping turns at high speed with a strong cross wind. The bike felt firmly planted on the road and I felt confident as I pushed through the cross winds during a long sweeping turn on 280 north heading from the South Bay to 92. The buffeting decreased but is still present, but you know how annoying that can get, so I put the fangs back on now the wind experience is just beautiful. Would have been nice to be able to ditch the fangs but whatever. Money well spent if you're looking to upgrade your billboard shield.
Anyone else have a hard time watching these movies? It's just too over the top ridiculous. I really can't think of a dumber set of movies.

Is there something on this bike that I am misinterpreting? Perhaps it means something completely innocent and I am just sensitive to things that may resemble other things.

I have an older Sena that works well enough, but it lacks base and range. What are some higher quality headsets? The ability to be loud would be great too, since some albums on Spotify and Apple Music do not play as loud as others do. TIA! It's weird I'll go through a catalogue and some albums were just recorded or uploaded to be quieter or something. Not sure what that's about.

Downside is the loss of the unique look from the rear shock but whatever. Progressive makes a rear shock that has a slightly similar look to the FLD shock, but I followed my builder's advice about sacrificing looks for performance and getting the Revo's instead. If you're like me and you are not an expert and you don't have a builder/guide/mentor type person helping you along with your bike, I highly recommend making friends with someone who can fill such a role.
