Anime Style games that can be readily paused (PC / Switch 2 / Mobile)

Hey everyone, I'm looking for games that are anime styled that can be readily paused / save points are frequent. I've already played the Persona games (and I wouldn't really describe them as ones that can be readily paused). JRPGs would be nice along with any other anime-style game, I'm not too picky. I want to stray a little bit away from visual novels because I consider those to be a whole different medium. PC / Switch 2 / Mobile are preferred, but I try not to get Switch 2 exclusive games because of how expensive they tend to be.

Free games are fine as well

University of the Pacific Incoming Student (Fall '26)

Hey everyone, I'm going to be a student at UOP this Fall. Is anyone else here transferring there in the fall (I'm honestly just trying to make friends since I'm transferring from a community college)? Are there any alumni/current students with advice on what resources to take advantage of?

Does anyone else have general advice regarding a 3-year accelerated program? Thanks everyone!

How chill is this game in comp mode?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get back into CS. How chill is comp mode? I'll solo queue sometimes with everything muted just because I want to play some chill 5v5 and I don't really care too much about winning/losing. I have my steam page privated but I was wondering if there's some weird workaround for people to harass my profile

Do the people who take the game seriously just stick to Premier/Faceit?

Read Error Rate in CrystalDiskInfo (5TB HDD concerns)

Hey everyone, I have an external WD 5TB HDD that I've had for a couple of years now. I took a look at crystaldiskinfo just to check, and I saw that the raw values for Read Error went up.

The current is 200, Worst is 200, Threshold is 51, and the raw value is 000000000008 (all of the other ones are 000000000000). If it helps, Seek Error Rate + Write Error Rate are at 000000000000.

Should I be concerned at all? What is the point of being concerned. I have 4 other WD drives, with none of them having anything for Read Error rate (even 2 of the ones I have that are older)

Any advice?

Just finished the OG FF7, what's next?

Hey everyone, I just finished the original FF7. I've had the Remake (Intergrade) on my steam library. Can I just jump straight into that? Or should I wait until Crisis Core goes on sale to buy/play that?

Do I have to play Dirge of Cerberus / anything else before heading into Remake?

How much of the OG should I play to fully enjoy Remake Integrade?

Hey everyone, I know this question has probably been asked many times before. I'm finally playing through the original game and having fun. How much material does Remake Integrade cover? I have that on my Steam library, and I was wondering if the remake just covers references from Midgar or the entire game.

I read around that the Remake (at least before Rebirth) covers all of Midgar, but I hear other people saying that it goes beyond. Does anyone have any input?

Does anyone have recommendations for shorter, finished, officially translated ones?

Hey everyone, I want to get into reading more but I always get stuck. I get very intimidated by higher volume counts, does anyone have any recommendations for LNs that are finished and officially translated?

Or any reading strategies?

Hey everyone, I'm planning on switching from ExpressVPN to Proton for financial reasons. I had a couple of questions

  1. How stable is Proton? I pretty connect to my VPN 24/7 and it's vital for me to have it on at home + college (public) wifi
  2. I torrent daily, I presume that it's going to be good here because of port forwarding. Does anyone have experience on this?
  3. What is the VPN Accelerator? Someone told me that it increases the chances of leaks
  4. How has your experience been with the built-in adblocker?
  5. Does anyone have experience using this on Android devices? How was it?
