🦋 Voting Results and a Message to Our Community! 🦇

Hello everyone, Juju here! I just wanted to make a post to say thank you to everyone who voted for Psylocke x Blade during this poll! We officially took 2nd place, finishing right on the heels of Spider-Man and beating out Venom, Iron Fist, Winter Soldier, and Daredevil!

I want to take a second to emphasize why this is an absolutely massive deal when it comes to defying fandom demographics. It's no secret that in general shipping and poll spaces, pairings featuring Black leads or interracial ships consisting of a Black character like Psyblade frequently face an uphill battle. In general fan spaces, White and White/Asian pairings overwhelmingly dominate top popularity lists. Relationships between characters of color, particularly those that include Black characters, are statistically under-shipped in general. To see a pairing like this push past standard shipping biases and stand toe-to-toe with Marvel's biggest flagship characters is a really big deal.

Additionally, Spider-Man and Venom are both extremely popular characters with massive fanbases behind them! They are characters that you can put with almost anyone and it'll have a backing. For us to to be able to get Sai and Blade's ship so high is a sign that we have something special! It's speaks on their popularity as a pair and as individual characters and also the potential of what where the the pairing can go with even more of a push. Let's continue to defy expectations going forward by being more creative and supportive, and discussing what we love about the pairing and both characters so the we can grow even more together and take that #1 spot!
