Unity vs Godot: Quick look at 2D animation and object instantiation
I develop my game on Unity but I like to experiment and I was curious about Godot. The comparison is not perfect but it can give some information about what to expect.

The idea behind this level is to limit visibility (unlike the others) to penalize long-range mercenaries and change the way the game is played. Note that each player has a small light on them to help them see their surroundings better. For this type of gameplay, which do you prefer?
A. A very dark level with bright lights near the players, making navigation difficult but facilitating close-quarters combat.
B. A very dark level with dim lights near the players, making any combat away from the lights chaotic.
C. A moderately dark level with dim lighting near the players, ultimately offering just a stylized arena with no real impact on gameplay.
D. Other—I have an idea!
Band of Mercenaries is coming to Early Access soon (plan for July 2026). It features a story-driven single-player/co-op experience for RPG fans, a roguelite campaign for competitive players, and unique multiplayer modes that let you show off the mercenaries you've unlocked to your friends.
