Anybody running a case on their GPDWIN5?
Have a killswitch on my ROG Ally and Switch2. was hoping for something similar, but these cheap tpu cases seem to be the only ones. Also nobody has reviews or pictures.

Windows, Bazzite, steam os, some other Linux distributions?
Waiting on my gpdwin5 and been running bazzite on my rog ally for the last year with very little issues. Thinking of going that route again but windows FSE seems pretty solid and with the power of gpdwin5 I don’t think windows will have any issues.
asking because i have 65Watt USBC chargers all over my house. If i can play at 35-40watt ill consider that a win. This is of course with battery attached. I understand the special chargers you need for usbc to cold boot it and all that, just curious what a 65watt would deliver performance wise.
Onexplayer3 seemed perfect so I finally committed to backing after looking at 395+ devices for what feels like 2 months. But last night as I’m playing my z1E rog ally and playing horizon 6 at 50 fps, persona 5 at 60, and trails through daybreak at 60. I realized I don’t play super demanding games.
I also primarily use XR glasses (viture beast) so a 8.8 in screen is just going to be a chonk carrying around.
So I requested my refund (9% stocking fee, so $158 mistake, whatever I was impulsive.)
All this to say, think about what you actually play and do, and do you really need another device? If it was the old times of 2023 and these were $600 devices, sure go for it. But at $1700 just to play the same steam library I gotta start questioning what I’m doing.
…dear diary.
It’s obviously very efficient in power but 35W even when docked seems a bit low. On the other side AMD chipset starts to shine at like 40watt. Desktop variants using it can burst up to 80watt.
I’m coming from original rog ally z1E so anything is an upgrade. I just wish we could up the tdp while docked to at least 45watt with the g3 extreme.
I hate external batteries but with the max power of 395 does that seem like a much better future proofing device?
Seems like every strix halo device has gone the external battery route. I want a strix halo device over panther lake but that external battery is terrible. I get its a power hungry chip, but let me decide to run it at 20-40tdp on battery and get the same battery as every other device. Most of the time it will be plugged in anyway. Is it more of a safety concern since the chip gets so hot, are they worried about cooking a battery? Give me a AI max 395 device with an internal battery and ill give you the 2k you want.
AYANEO NEXT 2 seemed to be the first device that was going this route but then it got cancelled due it being way over priced. The Super V or X Gaming is a tablet and im just looking for a portable hand held.
Edit. Nobody is answering WHY an external is any better. I understand it’s a power hungry chip. But it can be run in lower tdp. Just make 40+ tdp only while plugged in. It’s a very simple solution.
Bag holding 3200 shares at a -20k loss now.
12 $42 calls for Friday that are -95%.
Great company, love the leadership, great future, other bag holder sayings.
I let the internet get to me and just viewed it as “the walking simulator” . Idk how but something made me look further into this game again and at $17 I had nothing to lose.
I’m 5hrs in and loving it. At 35 it’s hard to find games that keep my interest and make me want to know more and this game is delivering on that. The atmosphere, the characters, motion cap/animations, music, story, world building, all of it’s so engaging.
The abstract weirdness of hideo is all over this and it’s a real gem in a world of copy/ paste games.
