Is skyrim worth it for me?

I purchased the game on steam a while ago but i didnt like it because i found the combat very boring, it was just run up to enemy and spam attack until they die.

However there seem to be mods that overhaul the combat to help remedy it, but idk how good they are for me.

I am also a big story person, and i heard that the main storyline is serviceable, but some side quests are good from what i heard?

Also, if mods are required to help me enjoy the game, i am willing to do some modding to help remedy some issues, although mods can only do so much

The thing i value most in a game is its story, followed by gameplay, then the world.

I am able to justify a serviceable gameplay if the story (and other aspects of the game, but mainly the story) is strong enough to justify (such as omori, im not a turn based fan)

some of my fav games as a reference and what i most enjoy about them

  • Elden ring (combat and world)
  • undertale/deltarune (story and character)
  • expedition 33 (combat, story and character)
  • hollow knight and silksong (combat and exploration)
  • omori (story)

edit: forgot to mentioned i refunded the game, so if i wanted to play it i would have to buy it again

Is this deal legit? will i actually get the game on steam

I was looking on nexus mods for some mods, but i notice that they are advertising skyrim for sale

however when i look under the actual steam page the game isn't on sale

is this a legit thing? if i buy it will i get it on steam? how does it work?

I am kinda inclined to trust it since i trust nexus mods, but i wanna make sure

Is it worth getting skyrim just for modding?

I have bounced off skyrim (honestly barely tried it in retrospect and refunded it) and oblivion remastered.

I have been getting into modding more as a whole, and i remembered that skyrim has a very big modding scene (example: search up vampire in nexus mods, basically every mod there is for skyrim or se)

I would say the biggest reason i bounced off of the elder scrolls games is due to the combat, i found it boring and it seems to come down to just click to swing weapon

Also if I am getting skyrim, should i get the normal or special edition? heres what i know about each in terms of modding and price

normal: has access to steam workshop, but it might be slower to get more mods/updates since its older? And i think it is more expensive to get this with each dlc than se which includes them (plus i dont think they would put the game on sale)

special: built in mod thing called skyrim creation i think, but i heard you gotta pay for some mods but idk how many of them are paid or how much/how bad it is

What was the blade and handle combo you used on your playthroguh?

For me I originally used the greatsword of fate blade with the wintry rapier handle, later swapped it for the booster glaive handle for the better charged heavy.

My original idea was to get a light weapon speed while having greatsword (or at least sword) level of damage (plus it is usable for both slash and stab, so if i wanted to switch later i could repurpose the blade)

but i found the multi hit charged heavy to be kinda bad for posture breaking, so i swapped to the booster glaive for the gap closing heavy.

edit: i just realized as i posted this that i have a typo in my title

Any mods like the the Grand Merchant mod (elden ring) that allows me to get any item for free?

Just wondering if one exist, i cannot seem to find one on nexus. I want to try out new weapons but the issue is the lack of final upgrades + too lazy to go into ng+ to get everything

Any mods that makes the character sheet in the style of a typical Dnd character sheet

I'm wondering if there are any mods that replicate the typical dnd character sheet.

If none exist, what about mods that allow me to more easily find the stuff for a character sheet, such as feats or traits, as i've heard that trying to find that info in the bg3 character sheet is a pain in the ass.

Maybe at very least some mods to expand bg3 to more vanilla dnd content like the artificer class

I am hoping to use bg3 to help make a dnd character sheet, or at least help me plan one out, so im hoping to get tools to help assist with this.

I'm wondering what tools i could use to turn bg3 into a character sheet maker. I am looking at things that could expand customization of my character, or make turning a bg3 character into a dnd character sheet easier

I would also like if there was a mod that turns the character sheet into the traditional dnd style character sheet, so copying things down would be easier.
