ASUS XG32UQWMS Review

ASUS XG32UQWMS Review

the The Display Guy just released this video, such a let down when it comes to the abl of this monitor as it has the same old abrupt abl from the last model XG32UCWMG which made playing at 100% brightness annoying :/

Is something wrong with my monitor or the game?

I noticed in this area this weird exposure thing happening idk if it’s how my monitor handles tone mapping or the game itself doing this

I only noticed it in this area tho

Get 4k OLED WOLED for 600$ or wait for 4k Tandem WOLED

I can get a glossy 4k 165hz/330hz for around 600$ but is waiting for the new tandem WOLEDs worth it especially that they will be significantly more expensive than 600$

Alienware AW3426DW should I pull the trigger?

the Alienware 34 280 Hz Penta Tandem QD OLED-AW3426DW with RGB Stripe was just released where I live and I can get it for like 750 euros (corporate benefits gives me 8% discount), I wanna pull the trigger really bad but idk if I'm gonna regret it or not
currently using the tandem asus 27 inch and I'm within the return window (I got for 560 euros) but I'm looking for a bigger size without compromising so much performance.
Will competitive gaming still be an option?
Is it bright enough in comparison to the tandem oleds?
Compatibility issues in older games and if so are there mods to fix it?
what's up with the rgo stripe is it only just better text?

Tried downgrading from 4k 32 to 1440p 27 I just couldn't

I ordered the asus 1440p tandem a while ago and it had shipping problems due to availability so decided to pull the plug on the LG 4k 165hz Glossy MLA+ and god is the difference jarring when it comes to size and sharpness, a week after the tandem asus finally arrived and decided to give it a try because my order couldn't be cancelled and I have it to ship it back with no fees, amazing 1440p panel brighter with no banding issues luckily but god does it feel awful to downgrade to 1440p.

I really wanted to stick with 1440p 27 inch monitor but at some point because I tried 32 inch 4k OLED | just can't feel the wow factor anymore or even enjoy myself with a smaller less sharp screen, my 5070 TI 7800x3d build can do either luckily but PT 4k would give my 5070 Tl a hard run so I guess I have to live with that until l upgrade next generation.

Tdlr if you're happy with 1440p stay away from 4k because you won't able to go back.

4k Ray tracing or 1440p Path Tracing

What would you choose? Especially with cards like 5070 TI and 5080 because they can easily run RT at 4k with DLSS 4.5 without FG….interested to see opinions on this matter :)

Should I keep Tandem 1440p 27 or MLA+ 4k 32 (5070 TI)

I got a really good deal on LG 32GX850A 3d gen OLED 4K dual mode 4k 165hz & 1080p 330hz for about 650$ but idk if my 5070 TI can handle it for the next 2-3 years, alternatively the ASUS tandem oled 1440p 27 280hz finally arrived after shipping problems with no banding at all it has relatively better colors, brightness and HDR got it for like 580$

I’m not upgrading my GPU till 2-3 years.

I play mostly single player games and I love path tracing, media consumption is up there too.

Really hard choice to make here so I would be thankful for some input.

Is 4k OLED worth it on 5070 TI?

I got a really good deal on previous gen OLED 4K dual mode 4k 165hz & 1080p 330hz for about 650$ but idk if my 5070 TI can handle it for the next 2-3 years, alternatively I can grab the new tandem oled 1440p 27 280hz that has relatively better colors, brightness and HDR for like 550.

I finally hit the lottery XG27AQWMG

I ordered this a long time ago from Amazon Spain because Germany is plagued with December and November shitty units, I tried 3 units and they were all horrible so I gave it one last chance I went to Amazon Spain asked if it’s 2026 batch and got it directly from them it just arrived btw, irl it’s perfect I can browse in dark mode without banding and it has zero black crush too.

This is with the latest firmware and 2 pixel cleans at 30% brightness.

tdlr don’t settle for bad product, you’re paying at least 500$ for this and you should get your hard earned money worth.

January batch btw

What a beauty (LG 32GX850A)

First time experiencing 4K 32 inch gaming, HDR with Renodx looks glorious!

Any way to fix the sRGB mode on my LG Monitor?

I got this monitor yesterday and it’s phenomenal minimal DSE no Grey Banding whatsoever and it doesn’t have black crush at all however the sRGB mode looks wrong because the blacks are way to raised in comparison to the wide gamma mode

I don’t encounter this problem with the other pictures modes it’s just I don’t like looking at oversaturated content all the time

4K Upgrade from XG27AQWMG to LG 32GX850A

I bought the XG27AQWMG about 2 weeks go but** **I’ve been thinking about getting into 4K for a while, I saw the LG 32GX850A and I couldn’t resist the deal 4K previous WOLED gen with dual mode and True black glossy just for 590€ and I gotta admit it’s worth every penny and it complements my 5070 TI + 7800x3d build.

4k even with dlss performance mode is still miles better than 1440p quality and that’s out of the question.

The grey uniformity is even better than my last QD OLED which is not expected from a WOLED especially at 95% with 35 brightness with 0 black crush too and the HDR is just superb in every aspect with 1300 nits in 1-3% window and about 700 nits at 10% window.

In comparison to the tandem the colors do look just a bit less vibrant and it’s a bit less brighter also but only if put them side by side I could notice that.

DSE and Grey banding unlike the tandem is perfect in my unit.

What really made me go for this monitor from LG instead of asus is its smooth unnoticeable ABL behaviour instead of the harsh Abrupt ABL with XG32UCWMG that I had previously sold.

I’ll be returning the Asus tandem because I tried 3 panels with no luck to find a decent enough one that doesn’t bother me in dark games (I love horror games so it’s a deal breaker for me)

Hope this helps anyone who’s on the same boat

Should go for 32GX850A-B (4K 3d gen WOLED) or XG27AQWMG (QHD Tandem WOLED) with 5070 TI

So I found 4K 32GX850A-B (Glossy 3d gen WOLED) for a really good price 590€ but I also have the option to get the new Tandem 1440p WOLED XG27AQWMG for like 520€, and I'm really conflicted between a brighter better panel 1440p panel vs an older 4k panel.

The price isn't much of a factor between those 2 for me as much as the 4k vs 1440p performance and downsides on a 5070 TI and the HDR experience since I love high brightness in HDR.

32gx850a b is it a good pick?

Been wanting to upgrade to 4k 32inch and I found out I could get it for a good price atm (590€) but after doing some research I got confused because some people say it reaches only 600-700 nits and not the 1300 nits and some say it clips at 600 but actually goes above that when it needs to, does it like have dtm all the time? And is there a way to turn on static tone mapping like other monitors because I hate DTM tbh

does the XG32UCWG has the same abl as XG32UCWMG

I'm planning on getting the XG32UCWG (Dual Mode 4K at 165 Hz FHD at 330 Hz) and I wanna know if it has the same abrupt ABL as XG32UCWMG it's not smooth at all (flicker like abl where brightness drops to 50%)

My XG27AQWMG review

Pulled the trigger on it a week ago and it arrived yesterday(December batch btw).

Here are my thoughts so far

HDR: it’s bright and gorgeous, significantly brighter than my previous 3d gen QD OLED and at 100% hdr brightness those 1300-1500 peak nits really shine and elevate the hdr experience without the infamous QD OLED dimming that destroys the mid tones, the abl is much smoother than XG32UCWMG's horrendous abl that causes this flicker abrupt brightness drop whenever the abl kicks in which made anything beyond TB400 useless.

Colors: after trying all of the three QD OLED, 3d gen WOLED, Now Tandem WOLED I can make my conclusion, 3d gen WOLED colors felt bit underwhelming in comparison to QD OLED and you could feel the difference immediately but with Tandem OLED the gap is smaller and I never felt the dramatic effect after switching like I did with 3d gen, I like how it’s the middle ground between the in your face colors QD OLED and the underwhelming 3d gen WOLED colors.

Uniformity (Grey banding, Black crush on sdr and VRR flicker): Greybanding looked worse in the first few hrs but now after updating and using pixel cleans it looks much better and unnoticeable irl, I couldn’t notice it in games or in dark mode even if I was looking for it and it looks better irl than the pics above 30% brightness & 100%.

Black crush isn’t as bad as I’ve seen here, only first 3 boxes look indistinguishable but in hdr you can tell all the boxes apart, I didn’t encounter any gamma or vrr issues but that’s probably because I have steady fps (5070 TI 7800x3d).

My only complaint about it is that the standby pixel clean seems to be broken or something because whenever I wake up my monitor I have these faint 2-3 horizontal lines that go away with a quick manual pixel clean or by just using the screen for 10 minutes so it’s more of a firmware problem that Asus needs to fix.
