When I first pulled this loaf out of the oven I was like uhhh it’s ugly, but then I cut it open and this beautiful swirl was revealed! It’s not a sweet loaf but the chocolate, espresso and vanilla really come through. I followed the recipe linked below to a T. This was a very fun loaf to make!

I’ve been consistently baking sandwich loaves for the past year, mostly for my son’s school lunches, and I really think this one couldn’t be more perfect. It’s a sourdough loaf that has just a little bit of yeast in it. The flavor has a slight tang to it from the sourdough culture and the texture is soft and bouncy. I’m real proud of this one!

I have a male Shihtzu puppy, 11 weeks old, who over the last couple of days has been randomly digging in his water bowl. Sometimes the bowl will be full and he’ll splash water everywhere. Other times the bowl is close to empty. Can someone tell me why he’s doing this?
Here’s our new shihtzu baby, Toby aka Toe Beans aka Tobias! He’s such a little love bug and a ball of energy. He loves his toys, especially his tiny tennis ball, and I can tell already he’s very smart. We’re obsessed with him!
Every time I make this loaf I can’t get over how good it is! It really checks all the boxes for me in terms of flavor and texture as well as just being a really beautiful loaf of bread. I also love all of the seeds and grains for the additional nutrition/fiber boost. I’ve made this bread in a Dutch oven but I’ve also baked it in a loaf pan and both have turned out perfect. Please try this recipe! You will not be disappointed!

I have a good friend who has been dating a guy for several months now. He lives out of town but they see each other frequently and talk on the phone constantly. She seems head over heels for him and they’ve been talking about buying a house together and marriage.
A couple of weeks ago my friend suddenly starts acting weird. She looks upset about something but refuses to tell me exactly what’s wrong but that it’s a hot mess and that she would tell me when everything has calmed down. Fast forward to today, she tells me the reason she was acting so off is because her boyfriend got arrested in another state. He was pulled over for speeding but the police officer saw he had a warrant out for his arrest, so he arrested him and he spent 10 days in jail before being transferred to another jail where she bailed him out.
During his jail stay, he was adamant to her that this was some big misunderstanding and that he had no idea what he was even arrested for. He said he’s never been arrested before and has no criminal past. The warrant was for OC theft of property $2500-30k.
When she told me about this I googled his name and the county he was charged in.. I found 3 separate mugshots spanning the past year for similar charges and another one for failure to appear. It’s very obvious he’s lying to her and keeping this from her.
Should I tell her? Should I show her these mugshots with their respective dates? Or is it my place to do that? I don’t want to see her get hurt by this guy.. shes been through a lot, once divorced from a guy who was a liar and controlling POS who beat her. And here she is about to make some major life decisions with this guy who is lying and keeping this history from her.
UPDATE: I told her and her reaction was nothing like I expected. I sent her 3 links to the separate arrests with mug shots and all of his information. She said “oh yea I knew about those.” even though she told me in our previous conversation that he told her he had never done anything criminal before in his life.. so I guess she lied to me? She did say it was awfully embarrassing for her and that the attorney she’s been talking with is trying to understand how he had this warrant because it was supposed to be thrown out in court.
Got this Kirkland matcha today at my nearest Costco and decided to try it. $23 for a 340g bag. I exclusively drink matcha lattes and use about 3g matcha per latte so I’m looking at about 113 lattes from this bag.
In the third photo, the top sample is the Kirkland matcha and the bottom is kettl kiyona. Definitely has a more yellow-green hue in contrast to the deeper green of the kiyona.
I made a latte with 3g of the Kirkland matcha, 30g water, and 150g oatmilk with about .5tsp maple syrup.
Here’s my review after first try and do know I am not an expert when it comes to matcha! But I have tried several suppliers including ippodo, kettl, and mizuba. For the price it’s exactly as I expected it would be. Does it blow me away? No. But I think it’s decent! The color is a little disappointing compared to other matchas I’ve had. The flavor does not lean umami or nutty (which I prefer) but more vegetal and grassy and there is some astringency but it’s not overwhelming. For my purposes, it will pass and I will enjoy it. Will I buy it again? Probably, as the value is just too hard to beat. I can see this being more of a daily driver while still having some ippodo or kettl as a special treat.
Hubby surprised me with a custom emerald and diamond band for our 10 year wedding anniversary to add to my stack. He pulled it out at our celebratory dinner and of course I cried. I love it so so much! 😭❤️😭❤️
I have searched through this subreddit pretty thoroughly to find earl grey recommendations. I’m not a loose leaf tea drinker as I need sachets for convenience purposes. So I first tried Rishi’s organic earl grey which I have absolutely loved (although I read so many negative reviews on here about it). It made me fall in love with earl grey!
Once I finished that box, I thought I’d try Harney & Sons Earl Grey Supreme as I read so many people raving about it, but it has disappointed me greatly! And I have enjoyed most H&S teas up to this point. Their vanilla comoro is my fave tea of all time. Anyways, I can’t taste their earl grey tea at all. It smells lovely as I can smell the bergamot when I brew it. But it tastes like nothingness.. is this normal? I think I’m going back to rishi. Any other recommendations are welcome!
I made my sis and I each a vanilla bean oatmilk matcha latte with brown sugar boba as a little afternoon pick me up. So so good!
