Is feeling tired and heavy upon waking up, a token of "unconsciousness"?

The context of my question is that today I've woken up a couple of times in a particular heaviness which I haven't experienced for a very long time.

I'd mention depression if not for the fact that I've had depression lately, and the nature of the energy loss was quite different. It felt much more emotional / mental, as if a spark was lacking, and it's that awareness that made it all the more painful, whereas here it was much more "physical", as if I was engulfed in something.

I ask as I oriented myself toward a couple of conscious changes mentally yesterday, which the dream contents refer to, and I'm interested to know to what extent the state I'm describing could denote a positive or negative outcome.

Thank you for your answers!

Acetone linoleum cleaning gone wrong - what to do about it?

I used to paint art with acrylic paint in this room, which left a lot of stains of all kinds, and one day I've decided to clean it with acetone, following some advice.

It Ieft the linoleum with these shadowy marks instead, and I wonder if these can be cleaned.

Can't they?

Advice to clean unremovable upholstery?

Unfortunately I don't know what the fabric is, they're probably just a cheap chair and a cheap sofa.

The stains on the chair are sweat and pants' dirt I assume; as for the sofa, I couldn't say.

Meanings of the butterfly / moth symbol across cultures?

I’m meditating on the butterfly / moth symbol, and would like to know about any historical symbolism related with this animal.

Occult / alchemical mentions are welcome.

Pop culture works as well! (I’m eyeing the Silence of the Lambs)

Thanks for your answers

The King of Swords and the mysterious butterfly symbol in the RWS deck

Why has Pamela* Colman Smith picked this element in the design of the card?

Are there any deeper references, other than a typical interpretation of the symbol?

And most specifically, why has it been associated with the King of Swords of all cards?

What has Jung written on the butterfly?

I'm looking to amplify that symbol for personal enquiry, and would like to know what Jung has said about it (allegedly he did, according to ChatGPT).

The more sourced, the better!

If there's any historical symbolism, myths or alchemical mentions related with this animal, please feel free to share.

Covering Bob Dylan's "Girl from the North Country"

I've started singing about 2 years ago, having learned a handful of songs. Here's my cover of Bob Dylan's "Girl from the North Country" (a half tone lower).

All feedback is welcome!

Could this baby rosemary have been saved?

A rosemary had begun to sprout last winter, unfortunately I moved it around a few weeks ago and it started to die out ever since.

Unfortunately I was careless, fucking up big time. I only watered it punctually and somewhat haphazardly during this time.

The first picture was taken about a 3 weeks after I moved it, the second, 5 weeks later.

I'm keen on learning from this mistake and would like to know:

- how does one know when a plant can be dug out to be put elsewhere?

- If dug out too early still, causing trauma, what measures can be taken in order to heal the plant? If it's different for different plants, then the rosemary can be taken as an example.

Thanks.

How to translate unknown chords from my head for composition purposes?

I’ve played music for a long time but never got around to composing a song, which is my current aim.

I have plenty of whistle recordings made on the spot as I tend to pick up the music while I’m outside, though in reality the issue comes up all the same when I’m around my guitar.

I assume that a musician who’s familiar with associating sounds with chord shapes, if not chord denominations altogether, would be able to lay out the chord progressions relatively easily.

I would like to know what learning pathways there are in order to reach that stage, especially the first steps since I’m pretty much clueless beside standard major and minor chords.

Quels modèles me recommanderiez-vous ?

Merci pour vos réponses !

Favorite workflow for portrait painting?

I want to paint a portrait and have started the block-in phase, that is, painting the main shapes with broad strokes and trying to get the values right.

I'm not sure what to do from then on - I saw a few videos so far, and I'm not sure about the order of steps to take relative to completing the portrait in full detail - especially since the values would have to be constantly readjusted.

In what sequences do you proceed when painting a portrait from start to finish?

Thank you for your answers!

The top (cover) of my Masterson Sta wet palette has gone warped, is there anything I can do about it?

I'd kept the palette closed for a couple of weeks (or even more), and as I took it off I've noticed the cover had gone warped, which is a problem as in order to keep the paint wet, the palette has to be sealed... And just like that it became a hassle to seal off.

Has anybody had this issue, and how did you deal with it?

Thank you for your answer!

I’ve had 2 dreams today. Following the first I woke up after about 5 hours of sleep, yet I was feeling extremely energized, in spite of the dream not « looking good » (though it remains to be properly analyzed). As a matter of fact, I haven’t felt that good in a long time!

Knowing that I only had so much sleep, I decided to stay in bed in spite of my state and sleep some more as I was afraid of a crash later during the day such as happens when one didn’t get enough rest.

I probably fell asleep after about an hour, for an hour or more during which i had another dream, but then the feeling was diametrically different: I felt heavy and foggy and couldn’t muster the strength to get out of bed. Recalling the dream itself was a struggle and I wonder how much time it must’ve taken, though I was successful in recalling most of the details.

I wonder about the meaning of the psychosomatic symptoms in the aftermath of a dream, especially within the same « session » (i.e. night).

Does feeling great physically, on a sensation level, point to something having been resolved in the dream?

Conversely, does feeling « in the dumps » mean that the unconscious has taken over?

Is there more nuance to these phenomena and how would it translate? According to which parameters?

Thank you for your answers.
