Compact Crate

First impression;

It's a good concept. But the sides seem like bulky wasting a lot of space. Making the compartment smaller than needed.

What are your thoughts?

How do/would you use it?

Half stack handle mod

Made a rear facing handle for the half stack. Now it can be pulled/pushed like a hand truck dolly.

2 layers of hinged 3/4 ply. Folded it's the same height as a low profile organizer. So it can stack side by side in a full stack.

Unfolds to a flat work top. Added 4 magnets for holding nails and screws.

Painted the top with truck undercoating. Figured the rubber would help keep things from sliding off.

So far I like it. Now it should handle uneven ground and stairs. Tomorrow is going to be the real world test on the job site.

New alternator in my 69!

I put in a new alternator. Old was 60 amps. New is 210 amps. It was sort of a rats nest of wires. Tried to clean those up. Upgraded to 0 gauge cables while I was in there.

Trying to future proof it for any electrical upgrades later.

Time to update some small parts storage

Been wanting to update my connectors storage. But Packouts bins are so big and not well suited for little parts.

Found a Plano small parts organizers that fit inside the Packouts. Plano Classic 3600. They fit 2 Planos in 1 Packout. For less than $5 each, I can organize the little stuff better.

Milwaukee, give us adjustable Packout inserts like this for the small stuff.

The model number for the Plano: PMC2360001

What is this kind of connector used for?

Inherited a bunch of these but do not know what an application it would be used for. Google was not helpful either.

Could somebody tell me what this is and what application this would be used in?

Built a 4W dolly for my 1/2 stack

Built the doly tonight. Used 1/2" ply for the base. Added a second layer of plywood to each end for extra support for the wheels. Traced the wall plate for the center. Traced a roll of tape for the wheel supports. Round corners look better and less likely to damage anything they bump. Decided to go wide because of how tipsy a 1/2 stack can be. Had some old casters I was going to use. After drilling out for the bolts, I changed my mind and bought some new ones. They are much better and have wheel locks on the front. I opted for 2 swivel and 2 straight casters. I have an idea for a hand truck mod that would need straight casters.

Battery recommendations for a 408w stroker

I have a 408w stroker in a 69 Mustang. It has an electric radiator fan, electric fuel pump, MSD ignition system, halogen headlights, some LED lights, stereo and amp, and just added a dash cam.

I'm looking for battery recommendations. Not sure what should be factored in.

What do you all suggest?

How to make the wheels look good again?

The plastic hubs are are looking bad. The color is fading or coming off. They are getting white patches.

The wheel itself some spots to chrome is chipped. I don't expect we can do anything about the chipped spots. But other spots on the chrome are turning white. I don't know what would cause this, is this something that can be polished or painted?

Any suggestions on how to fix either of these issues?

Mirrors on a '69

I have these bullet mirrors. They're small and I don't see much in them. And the passenger side is broken so it doesn't stay in place.

I ordered these square shape mirrors. The passenger side mirror doesn't move enough. It only moves like 4° when it needs to move 25°-30°.

Is this normal for this style mirror or did they send me 2 driver side mirrors? Or maybe just a low quality brand?

Need trim ideas.

So my '69 didn't have a stereo. I think my dad took it out to save weight.

Anyways, there was a big hole in the console. I made a plate to fit, and added toggle switches for lights and extras, a USB charging port hub, and a Bluetooth receiver.

I like the function of how everything works. I'm looking for ideas on how to trim it out to make it look finished.

Black and gray interior colors.

Need advice!

I'm trying to get rugs that are in front of bank tellers clean. High traffic on these. Winter ice melt have discolored them. I've been over them with a carpet cleaner several times. They look good until they dry. Then the white shows up again.

Suggestions?
