E2S1 Robin or E0S0 Rin for an Archer team?

Assuming my team is E1S1 Archer, E1S5 DDD Sparkle and E0S1 DHPT.

I do want Rin but if the increase in performance isn't significant I'll hold off on getting her, at least for a couple of versions.

I'm Mono Physical's BIGGEST fan

Alternative title: Evanescia and friends fold clanker Pompom like a lawn chair with the power of hyper investing in your favorites.

Now imagine if DHPT was also E2. Maybe someday. Maybe.

Is my Rin fast enough guys? 🥀

I decided to just bite the bullet and build her like I built my Anaxa: 0 damage contribution, just straight support. As cursed as this build may be, it's my fastest build.

Both Rin and Sparkle act 10 times within 500 AV, with Sparkle pushing DDD every three turns.

I am not crafting any Relics for Rin until she's E2, eventually. But maybe I can drop some of that Speed because 200 Speed isn't actually necessary since I'm running DDD.

I know this is tagged as Meme, but if someone can provide advice for this build, I'd be happy.

Speedtuning Rin for dummies (like myself)

Okay, I promise you that this is my last speedtuning post at least for a while. I compiled the most popular Sparkle builds and paired them with a Rin build that's just using Speed Boots, so 147 Speed in battle due to her Traces, to understand how "bad" is it to completely neglect speedtuning and just play Rin as a regular DPS.

And well, these are the results I was able to compile using the Rin Sparkle Speed Simulator. Mandatory disclaimer that I am not claiming to have it all figured out neither am I saying to ditch your speedy Rin builds. This post is to help players decide for themselves if they want to deal with more Relic grinding while making my own thoughts clear, as someone who's been playing HSR since day one and have pretty much perfect builds on all my relevant characters.

By the way, Sparkle's Speed is in-battle. So if your Sparkle is E1, subtract the amount of Speed needed by 15 and you'll get these results: 185/169/169/153. This also takes into consideration a long battle, lasting 500 AV.

If you're sure you want a fast Rin, then the tool I linked will let you calculate how much Speed you need on your Sparkle and Rin for the perfect rotations.

I hope this has been helpful for people who are confused on this topic, I know for damn sure I was.

How are we feeling about speedtuning Sparkle and Rin?

I've been using a tool made by u/craziness159 to get a more specific number on how fast my Rin needs to be in order to remain perfectly aligned during a given AV amount.

Here are the numbers I got for my specific builds (combat speed and sheet speed):

  • 150AV to 0 Cycle MoC: 146,5 (126,1)
  • 300 AV to 0 Cycle AA: 167,0 (146,6)
  • 450 AV to full clear PF: 175,0 (154,6)
  • 500 AV to 2 Cycle AA: 176,5 (156,1)

My understanding is that worrying so much about a perfect rotation really did suck the joy out of building a new character for me. So much so, that I've been considering just running Speed Boots and calling it a day.

From my napkin math, if your Sparkle is 200+ Speed or even pseudo 200+ Speed and Rin is just using Speed Boots (no Speed subs), you will experience, at most 2 desyncs within 500 AV, one at around 200 AV and the other one around 400 AV.

Now the question is, will this brick your rotation? My answer is no, it won't. You're losing, at most, 8 skill points, which translates to 4 missed arrows along 500 AV.

Of course, Rin's personal damage does not make up for 4 missed arrows, so the argument of running a support Rin (2pc 2pc Speed to hopefully overtake Sparkle and supportive ornaments) is still very strong, it all depends on how much fuel you're willing to spend on your builds.

After giving it some more thought I decided to just run a DPS Rin build with Speed Boots and either Attack Rope or an Energy Rope. If the Energy Rope doesn't actually help you get more ultimates within 500 AV, I'll just run Attack.

Those are my two cents, anyway. What do you think?

I'm working on a Speed tuning guide for Archer/Rin/Sparkle teams, for those that wish to build pseudo 200 Speed Sparkle

I've been seeing a lot of discussion about how fast should Rin actually be and the common opinion is that she should be faster than Sparkle to avoid any issues with Join FUAs. The problem is, many people own E1 Sparkle and with that comes the new breakpoint of pseudo 200 Speed with the help of DDD or Eagle Set, meaning there's a whole other aspect to consider.

First of all, a pseudo 200 Speed Sparkle build is basically cheating your way into having the best speed breakpoint there is currently, which is 200. To achieve this, you have a couple of options:

  • E1 Sparkle + S5 Dance! Dance! Dance! = 168.85 Sheet Speed or 169 for safety
  • E1 Sparkle + 4-pc Eagle of Twilight Line Set = 168.85 Sheet Speed or 169 for safety
  • E0 Sparkle + S5 Dance! Dance! Dance! AND 4-pc Eagle of Twilight Line Set = 167.33 Sheet Speed or 168 for safety
  • E1 Sparkle + S5 Dance! Dance! Dance! AND 4-pc Eagle of Twilight Line Set = 152.2 Sheet Speed or 153 for safety

For those who wish to keep their Sparkle fast and not run the risk of desyncing Sparkle's and Rin's turns to avoid missing Joint FUAs, I'm working on a guide to help people with this problem. If you don't have Sparkle on a pseudo 200 Speed build, this guide isn't going to be very helpful to you.

To clarify, I'm not going into the whole debate of Rin faster or slower than Sparkle, but my goal is to help people make informed decisions and remember, this guide isn't finished, that's why I'm posting it here first to double check for mistakes or maybe something I'm missing. Any help is appreciated.

Why are people saying Rin should be faster than Sparkle on Archer teams?

My Sparkle is very fast, she has 186 Speed in battle and with S5 DDD, she is at the 200 Speed breakpoint.

I understand it's in your interest to have Rin moving decently fast so that she doesn't miss out on her Joint FUA with Archer, but what's the upside to having a fast Rin? Is that upside more valuable than having Archer moving at 200 Speed essencially?

From the looks of it, you can just run Attack Boots and, assuming you don't get looped by Sparkle, your Rin is going to be dealing decent damage.

Another question I have is on how helpful and ERR Rope is when Rin isn't moving very fast, but I'll save that for another time.

Do you agree with this investment priorities?

This post assumes a couple of things:

  • You're a brand new Archer player, starting in 4.4 with E0S0 Archer, no Sparkle and no Rin
  • The sustain slot is very flexible, so I won't be adding a sustain to the investment path, since Archer doesn't have a dedicated sustain yet. DHPT is likely the closest we have to that.
  • Light Cones are usually cheaper than Characters, so I am taking into considerations small difference in Jade cost between both of them
  • Anything above E2 is Light Spender+ territory, this list assumes you're F2P

Here's the best investment path, in my opinion:

  • Building the team: E0 Rin > E0 Sparkle
  • QoL Eidolons: E1 Archer (SP management > E1 Sparkle (Easy access to high-end Speed breakpoints)
  • Maxing Defense Shred: E2 Sparkle > S1 Rin
  • Brute forcing: E2 Archer > E2 Rin > Save for dedicated sustain (or just any sustain that has something to do with Skill Points in their kit)

And here's the final team and some notes:

  • E2S0 Archer, E2S0 Sparkle and E2S1 Rin
  • Archer and Sparkle have many good alternatives to Light Cones, so I wouldn't prioritize their Cones ever, if we're looking for the most cost effective pulls
  • Archer can use S5 Herta Shop or other Hunt Light Cones like Ashveil's, even if his Sig remains better
  • Sparkle is an infamous user of DDD but she can also use Sunday's S1 or her own S1

A very chill full clear, soon I'll have perfect scores on all modes, just waiting for Stalwart MoC to drop

Finally had enough Speed subs on Sparkle to have Pseudo 200 Speed using Sarcedos

Too bad her Crit Damage tanked, but hey this means that Archer is effectively at 200 Speed as well and since Rin is never getting looped by Sparkle, I'll always have the Joint FUA ready.

After Rin, I feel like shooting 5 arrows is something really common, specially with E1 Archer, so this build should be superior to 161 Sparkle, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Anyway, this build is a work in process but I don't think I'll be farming Sarcedos anymore, this is good enough.

You can control where Evanescia faces at the end of her technique, allowing you to aura farm on your enemies (very important)

During the technique animation, all you need to do is drag the joystick (or press the directional key if you're on PC) to the direction you want Evanescia to face.

Every time I start combat with her, I turn around after her technique, to assert dominance.

u/Pilques — 18 days ago

How are you building Rin on Archer teams since her damage at E0S1 is scuffed now?

I was going to build her with 100% CR and 161 Speed (Sparkle is 162) at the cost of Crit Damage, but then I felt the same thing that happened to Anaxa on Herta teams: that will lead to useless damage coming from Rin.

So I'm thinking to just build her with 2pc 2pc Speed and I'll start farming Penacony for Sparkle and Rin herself. This way at least she'll be half decent with supporting.

When she decided to win all 50/50s and pull E2S1

I don't think I spent more than 200 pulls on Yao Guang, now she's sitting pretty in my Elation team and Evanescia is also E2S1.

This image popped in my head when I was finishing my Starward stages

Node 1 is E2S1 Evanescia, E2S1 Yao Guang, E6S5 EMC and E1S0 Huohuo.

Node 2 is E2S1 Dahlia, E2S1 Firefly, E2S1 Fugue and E1S0 Ruan Mei.

Node 3 is E2S1 Herta, E0S0 Anaxa, E0S1 DHPT and E1S5 DDD Tribbie.

You can definitely score higher on Node 3 with my investment, I've seen sustainless clears with 3.8k but I just can't bother to get the perfect RNG since I already got the full clear.
