VPA Price Increase. What in the When!?!?!

I haven't been getting protein powder online since my local discount chemist in Australia was selling Musashi at a 50% discount so I loaded up to last. When ordering online though I usually got VPA in 3x1 kg so I could get free shipping.

Anyways the Musashi has run out so thought to return to VPA. Updated prices though have hit me like a freight train.

Last year, I got 3x1 kg bags of protein powder for $134 AUD plus postage.

Now! 3x1 kg bags of protein powder is $186 AUD plus postage.

$52 price increase in ONE year for the same product. Inflation has not risen that much. What on earth is going on? They manufacturing their product in Kuwait or something??

Edit: did a quick google and turns out I'm not the only one I'm just late to the party. Genuinely blindsided though and had to share (not farming karma ew). That price increase is RIDICULOUS. "increase of gym culture" my Ars*

Communities Thoughts on Medic Class in Year 5 of HLL

Posting this because I saw a comment saying playing medic is a good way to learn the game. This debate has been ongoing for years. Personally I'm geared towards the medic is fun useful and medic is fun options.

Also ahhhh meant to put the option has a brain fart and 2 options are the same thing (remove and play something else) one of them is meant to be "every squad needs a medic"

Views on casual racists mocking substition of L for R. Eg. "Hory Mory". South Park Caricature accent.

Edit: I'm not trying to make this about South Park, I'm meaning more broadly with people assuming all Asians struggle with the L sound and including that in their mocking speech.

I'm aware of rule 5 of this sub, so I'm not going to mention other subs or communities. I'm just asking how offensive and zero tolerance people consider it when non-asian people imitate Asian accents poorly, including in online spaces.

Recently a competitive online game got released and it's set in the Vietnam war (naturally it's USA vs VC) and also heavily dependent on communication. A lot of players when VC, speak in a poor imitation South Park accent for "immersion". Pretending that all Asians struggle with the L sound.

I'm aware these types of video games that are unlike animal crossing/stardew valley, are heavily male dominated and attract the type of racist white guy who thinks nothing's wrong with it.

Just wondering if you've ever called out racism like this in public and/or how the perpetrator responded. "It's just a joke", "it's not that deep", "I didn't mean any harm" etc

US Flag for Soccer on poll. Please read body text.

Whether Football or Soccer is irrelevant. Both are fine depending on context and if correct meaning is conveyed.

USDefaultism because US flag was chosen despite Canada, Australia, Japan, South Africa and all Oceania nations also calling it soccer.

Today I learnt about the Korean American National Sports Festival (Korean American Olympics) as well as the Taiwanese & Chinese American Athletic Tournament (TCAAT) Question.

For those who participated in any edition, how do you feel like it felt in terms of competitiveness? Did you treat it as a friendly comp where the main goal was participation or was it like we came here to win and win only?

Also what was your experience like in general. New friends and networking between games or do you feel each team kind of stuck to themselves.

3000 athletes competed at the Korean American Olympics alone in 2026 so hoping at least 1 or 2 people in this sub can comment. I'm just curious because in Australia we have Indigenous Australian competitions similar to these but we don't have any diaspora competitions (that I know of) despite being more ethnically diverse in terms of percentages (less Asian Australians overall though compared to Asian Americans)

FIFA Power Rankings: Difference Between Top 30 Men's Teams & Women's Teams (17/07/26)

Now that only the top 4 positions in the mens ranking can change (Men's WC final and 3rd place match), here are the official FIFA power rankings difference between national teams i.e. Argentina Men's team are 1st and Argentina Women's team are 30th.

I'm honestly surprised by the CONMEBOL nations outside Brazil & Colombia. What's everyone's thoughts?

Edit: just want to say thank you everyone for the support and understanding the graph. I posted this in r/football and it got like 20 upvotes but also 20 downvotes lol. People saying it's confusing/asking why didn't I just put the mens ranking and the women's ranking. That would just be an ascending graph 1-30 with random spikes in it (a massive one in Egypt's case because their women's team is 99 ranked)

The colour system also works better because having the X axis cross the y-axis (go into negatives) doesn't make it anymore easier to understand because the disparity is being measured.

The point was to show the disparity which this graph does and show the mens teams in the top 30 with similar rankings to the women's team. (England, Austria, Netherlands, Spain)

Europeans purists struggle to seperate nationality and ethnicity when it comes to Diaspora Americans.

Also, Italian Americans anglicised their last names out of survival similar to many immigrants to the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. I don't care for Karma or whatever hence I left the comments up to get downvoted to oblivion.

"She can have Italian ancestry, but that doesn't make her Italian". So if someone has greek ancestry they're not ethnically greek? Probably just a misunderstanding of the point I was trying to say but the entire vibe was hate America at all costs. I'm Aussie btw so it's not like I'm on the receiving end, just pointing out Europeans struggle with the idea of "ethnicity" American or "ethnicity" Australian and literally give out a test to see if you're "ethnicity" enough.

What on earth are "Italian habits"?? If an Italian born and raised citizen doesn't practice "Italian habits" does this mean they're not Italian?

World Cup Supporter Question

I'm Asian Australian (Japanese/Pacific Islander mix, context for my bias) but just curious if Japanese, South Korean or Uzbek fans in the US who are US citizens will start supporting the USA if JPN, KOR, UZB get eliminated before the US.

You don't have to of course but that's why I'm asking. I might have to put Japan as my first team if Australia don't win or draw today :(

South Korea's home game in LA got cancelled yesterday, but if Korea get their act together, do a full 180 and win against Egypt/Iran and the USA win against Bosnia, then the US and SK will meet in the round of 16.

Unfair as well because the luck of the draw means Japan, who've shown they're clearly the best AFC team at this tournament, get Brazil despite getting 2nd and not losing a game. Even if they won all 3 they'd still get Morocco. Ah well, such is life.

(Apparently MENA don't consider themself Asian American but still polite of me to mention Iran and Iraq are the only other Asian nations that can qualify, and similarly to South Africa, would be against the odds if they do. Still hoping for Iran and Iraq to get through because AFC represent and they're not Qatar lol)

Not a Feyenoord Fan but wow the players this club has sent to the World Cup have impressed me

Just came here to say good luck holding onto some of them in the future. I support the Socceroos but have zero ball knowledge and casually follow the prem (don't have a team) but know the major stars/teams etc.

My friends kept mentioning to me how good Jordan Bos is but I was very surprised about his performance against Turkiye. The Japanese players as well made for an entertaining match against the Dutch (who I'm sure the majority of you support). I of course go for every AFC team and Hwang In-beom's goal had me ecstatic.

As a neutral to club football and leagues, if I were to ever follow a European club it'd be this one. It helps that all the WC players from this team are so damn likeable as well.

Episode 10 is Going to be the Scariest

I don't have any new theories outside of what's already been discussed on the episode 9 megathread.

However, I have a strong feeling heading into the season finale about this. I'm expecting episode 10 to be absolutely horrifying in certain moments.

Episode 9 had tension but zero scary moments or scares (action but not scary). Episode 9 very much landed on the comedy side of the series (not a bad thing). Easily the least scary episode. Episode 6 was probably the one I found scariest so far. I have a strong feeling the season finale is going to surpass this.

Which teams do you additionally or have minor support for than the Socceroos? If not the Socceroos, who do you want to win it?

First and foremost, if the Socceroos are up against the Spanish team from 2010 and it's 8-0 against Aus I'd still be cheering them on if they make the score 8-1.

At the same time, after Aus has been eliminated in past World cups, I've always supported Japan and the Netherlands because I have a Japanese born Grandad and a Dutch born Grandad.

I feel like most Asian countries (despite the politics and the elephant in the room of the past) support Japan as well if they can't support their own nation at the world cup. They've sort of become the representative for Asia at the WC.

I guess this question is a bit redundant and a hypothetical because Australia are going all the way this tournament.

NRL, AFL and the FIFA World Cup: Which Aus/NZ group matches do you think will be the most viewed by Aus/NZ fans?

This WC will 100% have the highest Australian TV viewership of any world cup. (captain obvious but hear me out).

I remember back in 2018, Australia's first match was against France and was primetime, Saturday 8:00pm. Broncos v Sharks kickoff was 7:30 that same night. Supposedly, 2.1 million Aussies watched the Socceroos but 600,000 still watched the NRL.

Don't get me wrong, I love footy and Origin but "27x a year" <<< 3x minimum every 4 yrs, national team, world's biggest sporting comp". My personal opinion. To each their own of course. Watch what you want, no hate.

Anyways, this is the first world cup since 2002 (which the Socceroos didn't even qualify for btw) where the majority of matches aren't at stupid o'clock AND, and they don't interfere with Bazza's Rugba Lieggg.

Most matches are outside NRL/AFL pub hours so there's no fighting of what to chuck on the big screen at the local.

To answer the title question, here are Australia and New Zealands group stage matches: All times AEST.

Sunday 14/06, Richmond v Brisbane Lions 1:10PM 🏉 AUS 🇦🇺 v TUR 🇹🇷 2:00PM St Kilda v GWS Giants 3:15PM 🏉

Tuesday 16/06, NZL 🇳🇿 v IRN 🇮🇷 5:00AM

Saturday 20/06, AUS 🇦🇺 v USA 🇺🇸 5:00AM

Monday 22/06, NZL 🇳🇿 v EGY 🇪🇬 11:00AM

Friday 26/06, AUS 🇦🇺 v PAR 🇵🇾 12:00PM

Saturday 27/06, NZL 🇳🇿 v BEL 🇧🇪 1:00PM (4:00PM NZ)

Just before the Warriors (NRL) play lol. Might have a similar thing that happened with the Matilda's in 2023 before the AFL at the MCG.

Curious as to your thoughts.

That 1 person/group from Hawaii confused as hell why the trees suddenly turned from tropical to Nova Scotian but dealing with it anyway.

Surely the sudden environment change and teleporting to "mainland USA" was a bigger mindf*ck than the nighttime vampire monsters that look like humans.

Islanders born there leaving and returning. Theory about Evan.

We know from the 5th episode that Tom's wife, Lauren started to feel the curse whilst still on the ferry to the mainland. It's clearly implied it's because she was pregnant and was about to give birth not on the island. The effects as such were immediate and not delayed like with others.

The people who suffered delayed effects are of course mentioned in the 1st episode with islanders dying the next day, some weeks later and some months after reaching the mainland.

Fishermen regularly leave the island and return so don't get impacted by the curse. Unlike Lauren and Tom in the flashback, the island doesn't mess with fishermen because both parties know they're not leaving. Minus Shep, poor guy just caught a stray :(

My question is, could it be possible for people to leave and then return immediately (maybe a day trip) and face no ill consequences? What if the people who died a week later instead hopped straight back on the ferry the same day? Would they then face dark entities or suffer the same "coincidental" illness/fatalities?

Why do I ask this, because I think Evan will leave later (maybe even run away out of rebellion or the girls (his crush)/his friends convince him to see them/leave with them.

If he doesn't leave, there certainly will be attempts to persuade him to leave from his friend group or his crush. The setup from episode 5 is clearly there. "Why can't I ever leave?"

Least Mentally Taxing Circuits for Long/Full races

First F1 game (had to unlearn NFS dodgem cars) and new F1 fan after a friend invited me to watch the Melbourne GP this year and I was immediately hooked once he explained everything to me.

I've done the 50% variations of Red bull Ring (break halfway), Bahrain and Miami (break halfway) and enjoyed them on controller but looking to do a full race this weekend.

Racing line but no steering and low brake assist, 70 difficulty.

Which tracks do you feel are engaging to complete in a full weekend structure but won't leave you with sore eyes, fatigue etc.

Grim was introduced in 2022 during the production of season 2 (released in 2023). His ability is basically the Cicada monster.

Are the showrunners telling us to play the objective more?? Why don't the residents of fromville just drone more?

Furthermore, Fromville is in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada.

Rainbow Six Siege was developed by Ubisoft Montreal in Canada.

I think I'm onto something here guys. Why don't they just go around the tree? Why has no one ever asked this!?!?
