I’m genuinely tired of the blatant racism and continued exclusion of Black characters when it comes to skin themes. Storm was raised in Cairo, while Emma Frost is literally an American woman from Boston. So why is Emma getting an Egyptian themed skin before Storm? Like… how does that make sense? And this isn’t just about one skin. It’s the larger pattern of Black characters consistently being overlooked and given less representation. Storm has such a strong connection to Egypt. If you’re going to make an entire Egyptian inspired skin line, how is she not one of the first characters you think of? Let’s not forget that Emma Frost’s skin has the word “Goddess” in it… I’m tired of having to constantly point out how Black characters are being excluded. NetEase needs to do better. Do we need to spam their socials again, like with the summer skin issue?

We will no longer be allowing posts expressing dissatisfaction with the new skin. Since the skin was released, we’ve had over 100 posts about it, and the amount of repetitive content has become overwhelming.

If you wish to express your frustration, please contribute to an existing post rather than creating a new one. We understand and support the frustration, but if you want to provide direct feedback, please submit it through Marvel Rivals’ customer service or engage with their official social media.

We still have a post queue, and we’re currently receiving around 10 posts an hour and have had over 100 since the skin content was announced. Please be patient while we work through the queue and review submissions, and make sure to report any rule-breaking content.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep the subreddit organized.

We’re all frustrated about the Storm skin, it’s definitely underwhelming and disappointing. However, please keep all discussion and content about the skin within existing posts rather than creating repetitive posts.

This makes it easier for the mod team to moderate and helps keep the discussion organized in one place, so everyone can share their thoughts without the subreddit being flooded with the same topic.

Thanks for understanding! 🩵

EDIT:

We now have a post queue due to a large number of posts!!

Please be patient with us, we understand and relate to the majority that are disappointed. We’ve had over 50 posts in the past hour.

To keep the subreddit organized, we will be removing repetitive posts about the skin and redirecting discussion to the appropriate, existing thread.

Please check for an existing post before creating a new one. This helps keep the feed clean and makes it easier for everyone to find updates and discussion in one place.

Thanks for your understanding!

Lately we’ve been seeing more people calling others “larpers” or claiming they’re not “real Storm mains,” and it’s getting out of hand. This community is for anyone who enjoys Storm, whether you’ve been a fan for years or discovered her yesterday.

It’s perfectly normal for someone to come across a new character they know nothing about, take the time to learn her lore, personality, and playstyle, and end up genuinely enjoying her. That’s how people discover new favorites. No one is “larping” by being excited about a character they like, and trying to dismiss someone else’s enjoyment with labels like that is disrespectful and contributes nothing to the community.

There is no such thing as a “real” or “fake” Storm main, or even “larpers.” If you enjoy playing Storm, talking about Storm, or appreciating her character, you belong here. Communities like this exist because people enjoy the same character, not because they’re competing to prove who’s the biggest fan.

Gatekeeping and personal attacks have no place on r/StormMains. Keep discussions respectful, and if you see rule-breaking behavior, report it instead of escalating the situation.
