In Genesis 6:3 God caps human lifespan at 120 years. By living to 122 years old, Jeanne Louise Calment's life disproves that passage, and having disproven Genesis, everything else falls apart like a house of cards.

Most of the big tricks Jesus allegedly pulled off are easily done with help especially a look a like or twin. The bible even gives it away by naming a prime suspect Thomas. It's likely that Jesus had a dedicated partner like in Christopher Nolans The Prestige, and that's how they did the resurrection and all the other tricks.

Even the wine was in opaque jugs, with a simple syphon setup that switcheroo was childsplay.

The inclusion of angels, saints, satan, demons, and the trinity are all examples of evidence that god has a cast of peers that also have supernatural power to which human beings can ask for help. Even in Genesis god alludes to what scholars consider a "holy counsel." A truly monotheistic religion wouldn't need any other characters besides god. An all powerful god who created everything wouldn't need representatives.

I want to put together a kit so I can shoot indie films. The kit should include a camera, lens, light source, and mics.

For audio I'm thinking of using lav mics, I desperately want to avoid ADR as much as possible.

For light I'm thinking a reflector and some sort of battery power light.

The camera I like so far is the Black Magic Pocket 4K as that is roughly my budget.

No idea what lens I should get, I want whatever I need if I could only choose one.

I'm planning on shooting guerilla style mostly so I want something mobile, simple, and lowkey to operate with a skeleton crew while getting the best material I can with low budget gear.

If you have gone down a similar path I appreciate any advice and pitfalls to avoid.

My first project is a fairly ambitious horror film that I'm writing if that detail makes any difference.

There is so much filler in this book it's insane. Whether it's the neverending lists of forgetable names and lineages or the babbling of Jesus in the gospels as he tries to get ahead of his listeners by pre-answering any questions they might have asked, which is a textbook strategy of a liar.

John especially paints Jesus as a radical evangelist figure, a la Jim Jones who is bringing too much heat on the Jews from The Romans. No wonder they wanted to kill him. He was a rambling lunatic spouting dangerous psychotic ideas about eating his flesh and drinking his blood for eternal life like some sort of vampire.

I feel like people with lower comprehension skills can get easily swept away by all the rambling and over explaining Jesus does, he's like a used car salesman.

Also if you read Genesis in Homer Simpsons voice, specifically the NRSV Bible, it really emphasizes how childish and unsophisticated these stories are that supposedly answer mankinds greatest questions. These are not profound answers, these are simple answers for simple minds. "Annnnd then god made a big dome and called it the sky, and God saw that it was good." Seriously?

If you played Zelda as a kid, Sweden can feel like you are living in the game and Stockholm feels like Hyrule.

I bought the NRSV Bible as recommended and a few pages into Genesis I'm surprised how short these famous stories are. Is this all that's mentioned of Adam and Eve etc?

Also in Genesis God says things like "Let Us make humans in Our image" suggesting that God has peers during the creation process, what's up with that?

Should I read another version first before this cartoon translation?

Will this even give me the full story of Beowulf or is it a total perversion of the original text?

I will read it regardless now that I own it.

I have two requests

1. Help my find a film - I saw a trailer sometime in the last 5-10 years for a horror film that had an investigation style and was about either an audio tape(s) or videotape(s). It had a similar vibe to longlegs I think but I barely remember. Maybe there was a subway train scene in the trailer?

2. I looking for horror films to watch that are scary, involve detectives or investigations, have a serious tone, could be about the occult, or anything gritty and dark.

I'm getting conflicting information. A person I trust is saying that unclipping a live electrode is bad because then the arc ends up between the handle and the electrode which burns the handle. All over youtube people suggest unclipping when stuck.

So what is the official position? So far I have not been powering down before unclipping stuck rods but I want to do what is most professional.

So I'm in the process of deconstructing my smart phone back into individual devices that fit into a backpack so I can get off of this social media hamster wheel when I'm out of the house.

Careful out there this summer, everyone is distracted these days.

They have ads on the windows, the audacity of that is insane. God forbid you look up from your digital advertising k-hole machine for a second to have a human thought, no you must be bombarded with even more ads on every conceivable surface of the vehicle YOU PAY to be on.

Nevermind the ads you are confronted by from the moment you step into the station, all the way down the escalators, and all over the walls of the station.

When did this all happen? When did advertising replace architecture?

They want us to quit driving cars, but in the car I'm not on my phone and there's no ads. It's a peaceful opportunity to reflect. Why when we do the thing that's best for us environmentally, we get punished. And don't think for a second it's not a punishment because it is.

Marketing works, that's why companies pay for it. All those ads in the public transit system are paying off otherwise they wouldn't be there. Those ads are convincing enough people to buy shit they don't need, likely poorly made garbage, that likely negates any environmental benefit taking the train over the car was going to provide.

I think we deserve ad free public spaces, for us, for the children, for mental health writ large. There are other futures we can imagine. One where art, architecture rule, and advertisers drool.

If there are any initiatives in stockholm addressing this massive issue, please let me know.
