Did I Win The Narrative Campaign Finale?

No.

Did I kill Ghazghkull Thraka by devastating wounding him to death with my last model? Yes.

Did he fight on death and kill my Archon? Also, yes.

Thus, ends the campaign on Astorax IV.

The short version of the story is Drukhari raids on a planet torn between a burgeoning Ork W'aaagh and the Imperial Defenders.

An impressive tally of Orks was reaped for both the Carrion Lords and Crimson Blades, such that even the Imperial governor was "convinced" to abandon his ally the Salamanders in favour of the Ork hunting Drukhari.

So the Grand Finale™️ was played between a team of Orks, a team of Salamanders and Ultramarine reinforcements and the Drukhari with their compromised Guard thralls.

In typical 40k novel fashion, the Ultramarines and Salamanders won the day, purged the Orks and slew the traitor Guardsmen as the Drukhari limped into the Webway.

Highlights of the game included Archon Mazrekai Yndarion killing a Librarian and the Ork Warlord, as well as Succubus Fhaeren Aro'shar tanking around 30 Ork attacks before beheading that Warboss too.

New Narrative Deck.

Spent a long day on Monday playing one of the mini campaigns with the deck of cards that came out recently. It was a great experience!

With my detachments disposition being Recon, the flavour of the different agendas feels very natural. For example, some of my Drukharis missions were to locate their inside source of information, assassinate nominated individuals, exfiltrate a unit behind enemy lines, and finally remove all trades of their presence from the planet.

You'll be delighted to hear the victim world was desolated, and Archon Morrigan Calruin and Succubus Yzmae Khankrass both rose their stock in Commoragh with a real feast of agony.

Codex Helmet.

I'd love to recreate the Kabalite from the front cover of our Codex, but I can't find any sort of helmet that resembles the spikes/mouth grill(?) of this handsome chap. I wondered if there might be a 3D printed version some clever person's made I could buy.

Cheers.

Looking for advice.

Hi all, I have an idea for my Wych Cult, but I need some help with the execution.

Essentially, I'd like to take the Blackstone Fortress Spindle Drones and make those centre eyes look more like camera lenses. (The logic being that the Cult goes into battle essentially live streaming their battles in realspace, with the Succubi performing especially fascinating acts of murder with the Drones acting as cameras.

My first thought was the scopes from Space Marine rifles, but I thought it might be worth asking the creative experts here first.

Thanks in advance to you all

Archon Mazrekai Yndarion takes the head of an Orkish interloper

With his Kabalites watching, rising Archon Mazrekai Yndarion struck the head from the shoulders of a lurching Ork juggernaut.

... before his squad was destroyed by a Battlewagon, and he died by failing his first Shadowfield save against a wrecking ball.

Vect giveth, Vect taketh away.

I've been acting as "games master" for a narrative campaign between the Imperium and Orks, with the Drukhari functioning as NPCs to spice things up, and thought the very short rise and immediately devastating fall were too funny not to share.

What is the worst thing to happen to your homebrew?

Naturally enough, when making a homebrew, one focuses on the epic and heroic goings on of your heroes, so I wonder;

What is the darkest day of your Chapters history? What defeat is forever etched into the hearts of your warriors but will always go unspoken?

After all, even the most badass, hard-nosed chapter would be boring if it only ever won all the time, wouldn't it?

Filthy Drukhari player seeks knowledge of Black Rage.

So, quick context.

I'd say 75% of the time I play Warhammer, it is against either Blood Angels or a successor of some sort. Narratively, I spin it that my Archon has an obsession with the Sons of Sanguinus, they make excellent wine when crushed under a press, or something similar.

Anyway, as an evolution to this narrative obsession, I wonder, is the Black Rage more of a mental condition or a genetic one?

Because if it's genetic, it could feature in a narrative campaign where my Kabal attempts to weaponise the Black Rage.

So, I thought I'd ask the experts. I'd appreciate any input into this narrative idea. Thanks, everyone.

Blood for the blood guy! Or whatever you Mon'Keigh say...

11th Edition

With the new edition of 40k just around the corner, this is usually the time that the story of the setting takes a few tweaks. With that in mind, will the greater narrative of your own forces also be advancing with the times?

For my own force, the Kabal of the Carrion Lords, the release of the new Archon model meant the previous Archon was murdered and replaced, and with 11th edition, a greater objective is likely for my Drukhari.

How will the tabletop changes reflect in your own narrative?

Archon and Kabalite Interaction.

So, I understand that when a Succubus leads a unit of Wyches, if you use a pain token then both the Succubus AND Wyches benefit from advance and charge as well as reroll charges.

Is that case the same with empowering and Archon and Kabalites? So, empowering them in the fight phase against a unit on the objective would give both the Archon and Kabalites full rerolls to attacks and wounds?

Apologies for what might be a very daft question, it just seems like that interaction might be too good to be true for a massive Kabalite fan like myself,

Cheers!

Looking for Feedback.

I'm looking to create a narrative framework for a campaign with friends. (Not exactly Crusade, but hopefully big narrative character driven event)

Was looking for feedback on my idea, but be gentle. It's late, and this is my first time trying to make something like this, lol.

Lists must consist of a Warlord and his Second in Command, at minimum.

Leadership mechanics.

Warlord units have 15 "lives." Second in commands have 10 "lives".

A Warlord or Second in Command lose a "life" every time its model is destroyed in battle by any units other than by an enemy Warlord, or Second in Command. Should your Warlord or Second in Command be destroyed in the shooting phase by an enemy Warlord or SiC, it will lose 2 "lives", if it is destroyed in the fight phase by an enemy model, the model loses 3 "lives" instead. Warlords or SiCs recover 1 "life" by the model or their attached unit destroying 2 enemy units in a game and recover 2 if your model kills an enemy Warlord or SiC by any means.

If either a Warlord or SiC is reduced to 0 'lives', that model is deleted from your roster. Should your Warlord die, your Second in Command takes over your army. If your Warlord is near the end of its "lives" your SiC may betray your Warlord and seek to kill the model, if successful, the SiC becomes your new Warlord with a full 15 "lives". A new Second in Command of similar points value may then be added to your roster.

Cheers all, let me know what you think. Naturally, your characters would be named and hopefully allow for in character summaries in video or writing form.

Faction Rivalry

Greetings, homebrewers.

Ezhrae Khellkyss, Grand Succubus of the Cult of the Crimson Blades, invites your homebrew faction (whatever that may be) to be the direct rivals of my Drukhari Wych Cult. So, make your case as to why your homebrew faction should be "canonised" in my own homebrew as the murderous muse for a group of upstart gladiators whose fights are an increasingly spectacular means of entertaining the Commoragh elite.

How does your army fight? Why does my Wych Cult have a particular hatred towards your guys? Have your faction leader and mine crossed blades before?

I thought this could be a fun way to have a few armies we work so hard on intertwine a little, so I'm curious what comes up. 😊

Warhammer Gaming Community

Having just moved nearish York, I'm way too far from my usual gaming group (40k, Necromunda, Bloodbowl etc) and wondered if there were any other groups closer to home in York I could try.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd appreciate it very much 👏

After seizing power of the Carrion Lords, Archon Morrigan Calruin needed to consolidate his rule with a true feast of agony to sate the questionable loyalty of his remaining Kabal. Fortunately, sources highlighted a weak world barely defended by the dregs of a genetically deviant chapter of Astartes. Geneseed for the Haemonculi, gladiators for the Wyches and slaves for the Kabal, it was too tempting to ignore.

The raid had been an unbridled success, with Kabalites spilling forth from Raiders to secure important objectives while Scourges and Ravagers poured fire upon Astartes armour until a counterattack came.

Screaming sermons to his men, a Chaplain fought his way to Calruin and his squad. Every strike of his Crozius slaughtered another Kabalite, but it didn't matter; this prize would be the Archons alone.

His Shadowfield shrouding him from the clumsy swings of the impetuous Chaplain, the Archons Huskblade soon found the flesh of the righteous warrior. First, Calruin took his hands at the wrist before gutting the defenceless Chaplain and finally striking his head from his body. The tortured soul of his victim flowed into his Soul Trap with a shiver of delight before Calruin ordered his Raiders crew to retrieve the body; the Haemonculi could turn this creature into something most amusing.

Their holds bursting with slaves, warriors invigorated and a plum prize taken, the Kabal of the Carrion Lords left the world as fast as they arrived, making for the Dark City with howls of delight.

Put some very minor work into making my new Archon a little bit unique. Now, just to come up with a suitably evil name and twisted backstory...

u/PointyEar96 — 4 months ago

I've wanted for a while to create a kind of Haemonculi failed experiment type of horroresque creature. I've always thought about the AOS Crypt Ghouls but wonder what size their faces might be compared to Wracks and whether or not Wrack masks could be made to fit. Are there any collectors of both units in here?

I enjoy the idea of creatures completely broken by their time in Commoragh such that they become bizarre scout troop/deranged chaff that the Haemonculi just release upon their foes.

After the new Warlocks came out, I thought they looked a little silly standing next to the much smaller Farseer models. So, I thought I'd convert a new Farseer from a spare Eldrad sprue and a Warlock body.
