What Would Happen If Another COVID Like Virus Appeared Today?

I’ve been thinking about this recently.
If a new virus appeared tomorrow that spread similarly to covid highly contagious, global reach, and capable of putting pressure on healthcare systems what do you think would happen?
Would governments react faster because of everything learned during the pandemic, or would they be more hesitant to introduce restrictions because of the economic and social consequences?

Do you think countries would bring back things like travel restrictions, masks, testing programs, and emergency measures, or would the response be completely different this time? I’m also curious about public reaction. Would people take the threat more seriously because they’ve already lived through a pandemic, or would there be even more skepticism and resistance than before?
With advances in vaccines, medical research, and disease surveillance, are we actually better prepared for the next pandemic, or are we just assuming we are? Interested to hear what everyone thinks.
