I made this image to celebrate Sanziene, the Romanian version of the Midsummer or Summer Solstice. It takes place June 24th and to me it carries a very mystical meaning. This celebration is associated with love and fertility. On this night girls traditionally wear crowns made of yellow flowers (Galium verum). They also decorate the houses and gates with these plants, as they protect against the evil. On this magical night the gates of heaven open, allowing the two realms, of the living and of the dead, to communicate.

Summer Solstice is my third illustration from the Wheel of the Year series, after Spring Equinox. This was inspired by warm summer nights and pagan beliefs. I wanted the illustration to be colorful and bright and I went out of my comfort zone with the colors. And now I turned her into a sticker :)

I drew this image last winter, but here is a snippet of my painting process. It is a redraw of an older piece from 2021. Back then I was really struggling with both anatomy and costume design. So I thought it would be a great opportunity to redraw it and see where I'm standing compared to last year.

Here are my 3 mushroom characters I illustrated and then turned into a sticker set. The red one was inspired by toad ring mushrooms, while the other 2 were inspired by hearty mushroom soup - hence they look like maids :) They are now in my Etsy shop. Thanks for stopping by :)

I am really excited about some big news I have :) After years and years of pondering, I finally opened my Patreon 💫🎉 It's a place where I can finally share my process, sketchbooks and artistic notes in much more depth than social media allows.
Over the last few months I worked hard to put together a structure for my newly opened page and I carefully planned and curated the posts. Of course, it will evolve as time goes by. But it was a dream of mine to be able to share with you some behind the scenes of my process in a more freeing environment, beyond the limits of social media. Also I am happy I now have a place to share with you some of my anatomy and figure drawing studies that I couldn't fully share on social media.
