UK Nutritionists please read

Hi, I am interested in studying Nutrition in uni because I love it, and I believe it’s very important in human health holistically. However the problem is I don’t want to become a dietitian/nutritionist. What other options are there for me if i do graduate with this degree? Thank you!

Can anyone learn Vedic astrology?

I once saw something about how not everyone should learn Vedic astrology and how someone needs to look at your chart first to determine if you can or not.

Is this true? How can i know it’s ok for me to learn it?

Am I employable for MLA roles?

I have HCA experience, GCSEs, BTEC science qualifications. Is there a point of applying to MLA roles considering all the graduates trying to find their first role? Thank you

Looking for career advice

Hi guys I am considering to transition from a HCA to MLA and interested in making this my career.

However I do have some questions about if there will be any risks to patient health if I mess something up accidentally? As you deal with testing patients samples etc.

Would the risks be significantly lower in industry/academia?

Also is the lab environment busy/chaotic like in a ward as I heard there can be a lot of ppl?

Sorry if these are dumb questions but has been on my mind lately. Thank you!

Does MLAs work 9-5 in the NHS?

Hi everyone,

I am interested in becoming an MLA and I was wondering how your shift patterns usually look in NHS hospitals? And how this differs from industry and academia?

I worked as a HCA before and my shifts included three 12 hour shifts a week including weekends and nights.

Thank you!

is this how to tailor for the ATS system?

so what i do to tailor for the ATS system is copying and pasting the job advert to chatgpt and prompting it to give me a list of all the repeated, job specific, high value keywords with the exact sentence it extracted from.

this way i make a list with all the keywords that meet my experience and weave them in as much as i can including the actual phrase and employer wording.

i also include any personal qualities listed in the advert like 'enthusiastic' etc as well as action verbs and making sure i included all the skills and requirements i meet.

is this a good way to tailor my c.v or am i doing something wrong? appreciate any advice thank you!!

I experienced oneness while meditating & need guidance

Serious answers only please.

So I have been practicing mindfulness meditation and sometimes very temporarily I feel one with the things around me. It’s hard to describe but I feel one with the rock, trees, and even people I never met.

I came across Sikhism and other non dual philosophy about their beliefs and theories regarding these mystical experiences.

Saying how it’s basically the essence of God I am recognising in those objects/people and how everything is ultimately one.

However, I come from a Muslim background and we will just say that this experience is simply that, an experience. It doesn’t prove those philosophies and religious beliefs to be true.

Since you all are Sikh here, I am curious about what you guys think about this, if you have any genuine advice for me, and if there is any way I can testify your beliefs to confirm if its true or not.

I meditate because of anxiety, and this experience was unexpected. I am open to other religious beliefs just in case I am misguided.

Thank you 🤍

Heavy metals in fish

So i heard this diet is healthy, and see alot of people on here post canned fish too. I did some research and apparently tinned fish contains alot of heavy metals, and fish in general does tbh. This isnt so healthy though. I wanted to better understand what you guys think about this issue. Thanks!

Constant mental chatter

I notice my mind is constantly bringing up thoughts about topics that interest me. Planning outfits, recipe ideas, and so on.

I always follow these thought because it interests me and I identify as it which results in spending couple hours pretending to be a blogger filming their makeup routine.

The goal of mindfulness is to notice your thoughts and surroundings. So how can I stop identifying with my thoughts to the point of being an imaginary blogger, and instead be the observer of it?

How to stop engaging in unnecessary thinking?

Since I started my meditation and mindfulness journey, I realised for years I have just been stuck in my head with the most random irrelevant thoughts ever, and I don’t know how to disengage from them.

For example, I just woke up and walked to the bathroom and I am busy having a full blown podcast session in my head about a random topic like manifesting. Or when I make food, I will be acting like I am a chef filming a YouTube video. I even use my mouth to “speak” but I don’t actually speak out loud so no one hears me. This used to go on the entire day before but now it’s just a couple hours when it happens.

How do I go from whatever that ⬆️ is about to simply being mindful and present in the moment? My mind frequently pops up interesting thoughts which kind of seduces me to think about them. I want to be more present in my life.

what exactly is fitrah referring to?

i know it means the innate nature a human is born with that pulls them towards good action and belief in one god.

but is someone who is agnostic and believes in the existence of one god, following fitrah? or does fitrah specifically refer to believing in Islam?

We are all here because somewhere deep inside, we want to be beautiful.

But what if I told you your NEED to be beautiful is exactly why you aren't seeing results?

Results depend on your core beliefs.

If you have a core belief of 'I am ugly, hideous, unattractive...' then guess what?

THAT very belief is going to manifest and show up in your external reality.

So why not begin to love yourself and others? Why not actually begin to accept yourself as you are right now?

Because no matter how much you blast your subliminal playlist, if you still compare yourself to others and think about how ugly you are all day, that core belief is only going to strengthen!

Here's your challenge: stop listening to subliminals and start accepting your appearance. Literally fall in love with yourself. You are one in a million. No one looks like you. Do you know how special that is?

It's time that you cherish it.

Once you reach that point, not only will your self-esteem improve and you will exude confidence, but you will have a new core belief, which is 'I am beautiful'.

And that is when you will see it in your external reality.
