Is it bad that I can remember all the lyrics to "Enough!!"?

I listened to that song a lot earlier this year and I listened to it a few times recently. But for some reason I can remember that better than Luck of Lucien (I've listened to LoL a lot more recently that Enough).

Ok so there's this person that I like and we've been friends for a while (about a year now). We talk and text all the time but since the school year started I haven't been able to talk to him irl bc our schedules don't line up, except for the mornings (before school starts) and dismissal.

Basically, I REALLY want to talk to him but idk how to...any advice?

I need some help finding some rock bands

Idc if they're popular or underground as long as they're good. I only got mcr, the strokes, tally hall (technically counts), and paramore, so i wanna branch out.

Hey new skater here :)

I got a skateboard around 5 years ago but haven't used it until a month ago. I've gotten better at riding it and I learned how to do a kickturn today, but I'd like some suggestions on tricks and techniques to start w/ riding it.

I'm going to make an unofficial music video for "Whateva Will Be" by A Tribe Called Quest

I was listening to the song just now, and I was imagining what the music video could look like, like the characters will be walking from the side with a tracking shot.

I also have chromesthesia and a vivid imagination, which makes it easier to picture what it'd look like in a realistic way.

I haven't made the storyboards yet, but once I do, I'll post a sneak peak of it <3

And if I do plan on actually doing this, I'll probably start a GoFundMe to build the set and pay the actors and such.

Heritage Questions

I’m creating an animated show with an overarching theme of family, belonging, and the ways people carry their cultures with them. The cast will be diverse, with many characters who are immigrants or children of immigrants.

Therefore, I’d love to hear about your heritage — not personal details, just your country, culture, and any facts or traditions you think are beautiful or meaningful. Anything you’d like to share could help inspire the worldbuilding.

Thank you so much for contributing <3

I think Arcane is deeper than it seems. Here's why I think so.

(DISCLAIMER: This is entirely my opinion and perception, so I understand that others may not read this the same way)

I think there may be a ton of hidden meanings and such in Arcane, specifically Season 2, that a lot of us might’ve missed. I was finally able to watch the show recently, despite being a year late, and I thought Season 2 was absolutely amazing. From the pacing, storyline, character arcs, it was all awesome and compelling.

But to the point, here are some of the messages I think were hidden in the show:

  • The first thing I caught onto is that Viktor is like a grown up version of Simon from Lord of the Flies (book and show). In the LOTF story, Simon is the only one who is able to see the “beast” — the inevitable capacity for wickedness within us all. Viktor also sees this, in addition to sickness and systemic corruption, but the difference is that he tries to strip that away through the Hexcore, ultimately taking away the humanity in people. Jayce, however, also sees this in people, but fights for individuality (ep 9). So I think the two show that while humans are inherently evil and messed up, our flaws are also what makes us human. Also, Viktor’s initial dream was pure; wanting to help people; but overtime and due to the exposure he had to the Hexcore, his dream was clouded by wanting to control people into a “perfect society”. While his dream may’ve been pure, the way he executed it wasn’t. And, like how Simon was killed for being mistaken as the Beast, Viktor was “killed” (the first time, when Jayce is deranged and shoots him down) because Jayce saw him as a threat, rather than his friend. (Also, Jayce was HELLA late for destroying the Hexcore.)
  • Warwick represented how the media and society often like to put people into boxes or stereotype them before trying to understand them at all. Vander was a loving father and highly respected in Zaun, but once he became Warwick, they immediately saw him as a weapon, beast, and monster. Jinx is the only one who takes time to look past that, and later on, so does Vi. A real-world thing I can connect this to is America (and I think the rest of the world)’s perception of Haiti, which is my heritage country. If you’re not aware, there are certain laws that are being passed to restrict the immigration of people to America, especially Haitians. Throughout history, America and other countries have tried to destabilize Haiti through their government, the way they perceive them to their nation, and more. They show the bad, gangsta side of Haiti (which really isn’t as much as it seems), but not the beautifulness of Haiti and the culture. They don’t even teach in schools that Haiti was the first Black country to successfully gain their independence, but rather dwell in the bad parts of our history (every history has its bad parts and its good parts, but both must be told to provide a complete picture of the past). Haiti and many other countries are painted as a “bad” or third-world country, but instead of trying to understand them like Vi and Jinx, we accept it and label them what others want us to label them, like Ambessa and Singed.
  • I think Vander himself showed how people are never satisfied through the way the others, really Zaun, treated him. When he was their rebel symbol, they loved him because they saw what he could do for them, but they never actually cared about him. When he was “going soft”, they hated him and turned against him. When he was “mean” as Warwick, everyone saw him as a tool or feared him. It truly shows how humanity will never be satisfied, no matter what you do or what you change.
  • While Sky isn’t a main character in any way, I believe she still had a meaning. I think she showed how we often take other people for granted. Viktor was so obsessed with his work that all his life he never noticed her until she died. She tells us that we need to be more conscious about the way we treat others and to appreciate and spend time with them while they’re here with us. Similarly, it may also show content; sometimes we become so used to someone’s presence that we don’t realize them, again, until they’re gone. When Viktor says “I will miss our talks” and she responds “No you won’t”, she sees how becoming a “god” will cause him to not at all have the capacity to remember nor care about her, kind of like before.
  • Isha, one of my favorite characters, inverted Jinx’s prescription that everyone around her dies. While Isha did die, she and Silco served as the push for Jinx to change and move one, which may be the reason why the ghosts and paranoia fades in the last act.
  • Singed, especially through his creation of Warwick, shows how we and the media break people down until they are nothing but pieces of flesh. It sounds a bit graphic, I know, but that’s the point. We like to define people by what they did, hence never giving them a second chance and dehumanizing them. It’s like war; in training, they make cutouts of the targets for the soldiers to shoot at, so that over time it will be nothing but a second thought to pull the trigger.
  • Silco definitely breaks his character mold of the “evil protagonist” through his father-daughter relationship with Jinx. Even though he (in a way) shame Vander for loving his kids so much, he ends up in the same trap and even pushes away his lifelong dream of Zaun for Jinx. He shows that even the most wicked of people have the capacity for love, kind of like Jinx and Isha.
  • Like Viktor mentions, the wild rune represents the inevitable human wickedness, especially with the way it grew in the most beautiful place in the undercity, showing that even the people who seem like the nicest may have their own bad intentions or have had bad/traumatic experiences.

Sure, maybe some people may see this as a stretch, but this is how I perceived Arcane.

Suggestions for Learning 2D Animation?

I recently just got a graphics tablet for digital art, design, but most importantly animation. I'm not new to digital art, since I've used Procreate on the IPad before. I've already tried out Blender a bit, just out of curiosity, and have drawn some pieces, but I'd love to know some beginner-friendly courses or resources <3
