What’s it like living in this part of Kent (Southeastern England)

What’s it like living in this part of Kent (Southeastern England)

Just curious about this particular area.

Are the connections into london and other major cities quick? Is the general culture good or can it feel a bit isolated?

Any other facts about the area in red particularly? (Don’t mind being told about the parts around it though like Chatham and Sittingbourne).

I can see that the islands aren’t inhabited but do people go onto them anyways?

Why is the ocean in western Europe a lighter shade of blue than the rest of the Atlantic Ocean?

Feel like the obvious answer is sea depth but I’m usually wrong about these things so wanted to confirm

If someone you were in a relationship with told you they “settled” with you, how would you react?

Specifically in the context of an argument and this being said in the heat of the moment

Will Canary Wharf and Fulham parts of the river eventually turn into lakes?

The Canary Wharf part of the river looks like it’s on the verge of turning into an Oxbow Lake but the Fulham part looks like it’ll take a while longer.

Why did loads of natives in the USA die out compared to south American natives?

From what I know, many died due to europeans introducing unfamiliar diseases. However many south and central american natives still exist. Even in Mexico, many people have predominantly native dna (and a small amounts of european dna from admixture depending on their location)

What’s it like living in a big city deep inside the Amazon rainforest?

I like learning about different places on the map so just curious.

For this picture, I used the city of Manaus in Western but any other large cities that are completely surrounded by the amazon forest I’m curious to know about.

How does living so deep in the amazon affect life for a big city? Do animals constantly find themselves in the middle of the main street. What’s it like living on the edge of the city right where it borders the jungle.

How well connected is it to the capital and other major coastal cities in Eastern Brazil? Are railways common or is it mostly just plane routes due to the size of the amazon? Are the inhabitants of Manaus and similar cities mainly Natives South Americans?

Is life difficult there? Is there a certain industry like agriculture or something related to wood most people are involved in due to its location deep in the amazon.

Is Somalia in a better position than it was a year ago?

Like most diasporas, you only hear about random news articles occasionally but they’re all scattered so you can’t really assess the situation on ground.

Just trying to understand from someone more well informed if things are on the right track in as unbiased of a way as possible

Was second hand embarrassment a helpful trait to ancient humans?

A lot of the things we feel or naturally have today tend to be useful (somethings aren’t but a lot are). We feel second hand embarrassment sometimes so I’m wondering know how that would’ve benefited our ancestors in the savannah when they were hunter gatherers

What’s it like living in this part of Ireland?

I’m curious about learning about different places I see on the map and the spiky look of this part of the country stood out to me.

Is there something unique about this particular place that’s different from the rest of the country culturally?

Does its geographic position, being right at the furthers western point on the island change what it’s like to live there (differences in weather compared to other parts of Ireland and the UK).

Any other interesting facts about the region. Thanks!

Is it typical for jobs to have limits on how much annual leave you can take?

For example, typically you could have 25 days of annual leave but a company might only let you take a maximum of 10 days in one go. Is that common?

Just wondering if being able to take all of your annual leave in one go is a thing.

Edit: Reason I was thinking this is because of the world cup and wondering how english fans who stay for the entire tournament manage to do it

Does every new immigrant group in America face some level of xenophobia?

I’m not American but I like watching mafia movies. I notice in a lot of them that the Italians sometimes have certain insults/words meant to insult their ethnicity against them by other groups and there seems to be hate that exist during these times towards them (early 1900s up to the 1960s probably even beyond) yet I’ve never heard of this being a thing in the 21st century.
Similarly I’ve read online that a lot of Irish immigrants initially were discriminated against heavily but likewise it’s not a thing anymore really.

Do many legal immigrant groups go through a stage of being hated or at least talked down upon before eventually accepted many decades later after assimilation?

Will Somalia ever make the world cup this century?

I need to see them at the world cup at least once in my life the hype around it for other countries is crazy. I would quit my job and sell my family’s savings and possessions just to see them win 1 group stage game on the international pitch that’s how serious this is for me

How’s it like living deep in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo?

I’m really interested in learning about different places on the map so just curious.

How different is life here compared to other places in the country? Is it well connected to the rest of the country and regionally, is the area heavily responsible for a certain industry/sector?

Are there certain customs or traditions that are different from the rest of the country?

Are there isolated, uncontacted tribes similar to the amazon?

Any other interesting facts? Thanks!

Went swimming for the first time in 7 years.

23M used to swim weekly from 9 to 16 and closer to the end we’d constantly be pushed to do drills in different styles. Stopped going for 7 years and hadn’t swam in any way during that time. Decided to go for the first time again today.

At first I was scared I’d forget and drown lol but I seemed to remember everything, just a bit rusty and less coordinated. I’d also forgotten how to breathe correctly but another swimmer reminded me after a chat.

Maybe it was because I hadn’t eaten breakfast but I tired out way faster than I would back in my younger days.

What’s it like living on this northern Japanese Island?

I’m really interested in learning about different places on the map so just curious.

How different is life here compared to other places in southern Japan? Is it well connected to the rest of the country and regionally, is the area heavily responsible for a certain industry/sector?

Are there certain customs or traditions that are different from the rest of the country?

Also, is it much different seasonally compared to the rest of Japan. I’m wondering if the winters are much harsher due to it being located further up north.

Any other interesting facts? Thanks!

I can’t go to sleep if I don’t complete a strange routine.

Every night, I have to push my bedroom door 4 times, tap the power switch on the wall twice, tap my desk 4 times, open and close my water bottle 5 times, tap the water bottle on the floor in 2 sets of 12 each. Then tap the side of my bed 4 times before going to sleep.

I don’t know how this started but a few years ago I randomly must’ve done it one night after struggling to fall asleep.

Irl I’m your typical 24M guy that works a corporate job, goes gym, plays sports with friends and what others would see as an “ordinary guy”. I’ve never told anyone about this because I know I’d come across as a freak

What’s it like living in this region that sticks out of China?

Don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of it before but I’m curious.

Is it generally a difficult place to live both financially and socially? Is it well connected to the rest of the country and regionally, is the area heavily responsible for a certain industry/sector in China?

Are there certain customs or traditions that are different from the rest of the country?
