Anderson 10

For craft beer peeps, is Anderson's 10 year party a go-to event? What have the beer choices been like and what are the demographics?

It's on August 8.

Electric motorcycles

Fast-moving electric motorcycles and scooters seemingly driven by unlicensed kids are an issue in my neighborhood parking lots, sidewalks and bicycle lanes. Are your neighborhoods concerned and is there a way forward short of banning these fun and inexpensive transportation options?

Premier push

Disappointed that Britbox put the last two episodes of Blue Lights season 3 behind the Premier upcharge. Either offer it, or don't. Sours us on the entire service.

Tommy Hunter

He may have outlived many of his fans, but London-born Tommy Hunter still had some who made time for his public visitation at Needham. Hunter was one of the original made-in-Canada TV celebrities whose friends included the likes of Johnny Cash. Respect.

New liquidation centre

There's a new Costco Liquidation Centre selling returned merchandise in Aylmer. It opened in June. Open Tuesday to Sunday. Markdowns are 40 to 50 per cent.

Are there others across the country? This one is a 40 minute drive from the closest Costco.

Cabin air filter

Boler to be closed

Heads up that Boler Road from Griffith to Byron Baseline will be closed for construction from June 15 to October.

Avoid Byron if you're in a rush. The detours involve speed bumps and other traffic calming measures.

What is this church?

It says Church of God but I've never seen any activity here or at the house (a manse?) next door. It's on Wharncliffe near Kinsmen arena.

Fireworks cancelled

After some 40 years, the Byron Optimists have cancelled it's Canada Day fireworks. Last year's show cost $14,000 and attracted an estimated 7,000 people. But too few made donations for the fireworks to continue. This year, there will only be daytime, kid-focused activities at the Byron Sports Complex.

Did you ever attend? Are big fireworks displays worth the cost?
